Thank you for showing how to eat those beautifully arranged dishes. It helps a lot to get an idea what to do in a posh restaurant when one doesn't do often.
We had two meals at Le Cinq, one for lunch (when it was still with two Michelin Star) and one for dinner ( 3 star). Both of them were truly sensational experience. Not like many other 3 star restaurants using lots of ‘innovative cooking techniques and novel presentation, Le Cinq really respected the food itself. The service was also impeachable, the staff were very very friendly and energetic. It is my most favorite restaurant in Paris. I really look forward to coming back again. Thank you for shooting this wonderful video.
I have had the good fortune to dine there maybe 10 times. The food is fantastic. The wine selections are sublime. PS: Best Hot chocolate on planet earth.

I went to Le Cinq many many years ago , I remember vividly 3 things. First, I didn't know there was some kind of dress code (had a polo shirt) and the lady at the entrance just came up with a tailored jacket that perfectly fit and put me in it while smiling. 5 seconds total in the assessment, choosing a jacket and dressing me ..lol. Second, the way all the people at the restaurant moved around the tables. it was kind of a dance and i was mesmerized the entire lunch. Third, someone chose a red wine. I'm not a fan of wine, red, white or green (I'm portuguese). If I can choose I'll never have wine with meals, preferably water. Any water. They gave me a glass of red wine, someone made a toast and I just wanted to have a sip so I didn't look weird not drinking ... The moment that wine touched my lips an explosion of feelings came into my head and I said out loud: "i could drink this nectar every day of my life for breakfast". Don't really remember the food anymore, also no photos at the time ... I think the bread was very good ..but i have exceptional bread often so didn't really stand out.
This is long time ago (5 years) review, Jay used iPhone 7 on that time, I think the mobile camera quality not really good in 2017, so we can’t judge , maybe restaurant lighting effect, so the colour look a bit dark, I am sure restaurant improved all the skills now, Le Cinq still award of Michelin 3 stars and many customers. We using 4K Camera with high quality lens, all foods presentation look a art food to me.

@@FLMKane Concha y Toro (Maipu Valley), hands down. Back in the early 2,000's KLM offered it on their flights, and I was hooked! You could buy a bottle in Asda or Tesco for about 9 Pound Sterling. Now it's in the millionaires price range (relative to my spending ability!), so I've moved to other brands from Central & Maipu Valleys.

I think amazing chefs are everywhere just that some are undiscovered, those discovered one get Michelin and their dishes price skyrocketed, I think I will hunt for undiscovered and bigger portion and the idea they create some dishes uniquely which is not famous, can I find chef like this anywhere?
I have been working fine dining restaurant almost 6 years and I’m currently working china almost 3 years fine dining, i wish I could get chance to work these Michael restaurant.
I am a sommeliers here in the great state of south dakota. The executive chef myself and the owner just did a 12 course wine dinner. It was better wine and I believe equal or better food. This looked like a great treat! Seems like they prefer whites though it makes sense as they are just a stones throw from champagne.
@@GourmetBGourmet Morries steakhouse though the dinner that was prepared is a quarterly thing, the food quality is spectacular, at least in my humble opinion. The wine selection i must say though is quite unique and amazing.
Just came across your channel and it's amazing - have you thought about doing a list, your favourites/best value for money one/ones to avoid etc - that would be really good because you've tried so many places! Could even do it dependent on country etc :)

I'm totally underwhelmed by this menu. As compared to other ☆☆☆ there was no real star of the show! A lot of very interesting offerings with no protein, just a lot of beans, veggies, sweets & starches! Not worth the €600+ tab!

Tbh I can see why Rayner slated this in that infamous review. I mean of course, I’m not there to taste it, but visually the food appears to be an assortment of milky/jellied/shiny splodges, rather than anything truly delicious or attractive. Although, the bread did look pretty fine.
nice video, I have one suggestion, hold the white wine glass by the stem, otherwise you are warming the wine, while with red wines, you hold it with your thumb, index finger and middle finger and let your other fingers rest on the base 😊

I’ve been to Le Cinq once a few years ago and enjoyed my meal enormously. The food in your video looked really delicious. I don’t mean to be critical but at 3:42 when the sommelier poured wine for you, the bottle hit your glass. This is not something I expect from a restaurant of this class and price level.

This looks to be all about the wine. After all that alcohol does one really care about the taste of the food. Another point: Why does the silverware seem absurd. Chop sticks would be more utilitarian and more elegant.
A wonderful place but this video made my eye twitch.. Not for the food or wine but for the random finger pointing close to the food.. A pet hate of mine.

Great video, food looks a lot better since the restaurant was slaughtered by Jay Rayner from his review in 2017. There's definitely some interesting dishes and very well presented. Seems to be one of the better 'value' 3 star restaurants especially in comparison to Guy Savoy and Arpege. The wine pairing could be improved. 180 euro is pretty poor value for what was poured. None of the pairings were particularly expensive, aged or 'rare' bottles. Though I will say that some of the wines were interesting, though I think they could have done better with the selection, I personally would be disappointed that they poured 2 Laguedoc wines. Just seems a lot of off shoot geeky wines the somm picked
I didn't like the plating. Don't you think that they overused the micro blooms on every single presentation? And what's even worse is you ate them all.. :D

Thanks for the content. But can you please not grab the wine glass by the bowl? Instead, grab them by the stems. It’s driving me crazy to watch people commit such a faux pas.

Great video, food looks a lot better since the restaurant was slaughtered by Jay Rayner from his review in 2017. There's definitely some interesting dishes and very well presented. Seems to be one of the better 'value' 3 star restaurants especially in comparison to Guy Savoy and Arpege.
The wine pairing could be improved. 180 euro is pretty poor value for what was poured. None of the pairings were particularly expensive, aged or 'rare' bottles. Though I will say that some of the wines were interesting, though I think they could have done better with the selection, I personally would be disappointed that they poured 2 Laguedoc wines. Just seems a lot of off shoot geeky wines the somm picked

I agree. Some pretty niche wines served here without any real pedigree. Wine is my profession and passion. WSET level 4 here.

They always get you with that "French" accent. On these multi-course GOUGED dinners, by the 3rd dish, my taste buds start to deaden already.
I didn't like the plating. Don't you think that they overused the micro blooms on every single presentation? And what's even worse is you ate them all.. :D
they have theme every season, is blooming season now.
