    The trigger that ships installed in the rifle is a U.S. made part for 922r, the trigger in the box is Polish made so the end user can set it back to factory correct.

    For those who dont know, these are made in a civilian factory in Poland. They are NOT made at the legendary circle 11 military factory. I personally would rather buy a WBP made ak as the quality is much higher and they have a much longer history/reputation

    I've had a regular 16 inch Pioneer arms sporter for about 18 months and I've place some rounds through it with no issues. The mag well is fairly tight, so I have mostly stuck with picking up Polish polymer magazines for it. I also bought the optic mount for it and I have a red dot on it as well.

    • @The_Casual_Collector
      @The_Casual_Collector  19 дней назад +1

      @DesertMav cool, yeah honestly I think they're decent for the price and likely just fine for a few thousand rounds. Would I take one into combat....probably not, there are better options, but of course, at a higher price point.

  • @hobofactory

    I have heard their 7.62x39’s have a better reputation than 5.56’s so hopefully you have better luck with yours than I did with mine! One difference that’s already clear is that spare firing pin appears to be the more standard design with the rectangular profile rather than the rounded kind found in the 5.56., so hopefully not as prone to breakage but at least you might have more in the way of quality replacement options moving forward.

    • @The_Casual_Collector

    When I left Vietnam in 1970 they had a pile of sms firearms stacked and were free for any one wanting one. During ahe early 70`s you could buy them at gun stores for less than 20 and could. Buy Ak47 for less than 200 with full auto removed. Hearing them fire single for I never flinched but once they went full auto I was in a hole even if I had to dig it with my hands. Scary stuff.

    VSO Channel reports that Pioneer just closed down its' company. PLEASE do some follow-ups. I 've never seen an AK in real life until a week ago when I got my Pioneer Hellpup 11.7". I NEED INFO. When cocked the first trigger pull seems nice. Then when reset and pulled it is very lite, like maybe too lite. Great video.

    I had a similar magazine fitment issue with a Zastava AK. It wasn't the mag opening in the receiver. On the left side just inside the mag well there was a rivet that stuck out a tiny bit too far and some magazines were getting hung up on it. I simply filed off the end of the rivet and then all my magazines fit fine.

      I have a 20 inch Saiga barreled Rifle. With a one in 10 twist rate these specific rifles in the Video would give nearly a full two rotation twists to the bullets, so it will be interesting to check accuracy with various ammo types. Have never actually compared the accuracy on my own Saiga 20 inch barreled AK, however that is in the near future.

    • @justinjones9042

      @@donald2665sounds like a interesting comparison. I was just looking at a Riley Ak , i dont know much about them , i like the 19.25 in , barrel and a 308 Winchester. Might be a good base for a customized DMR . At under 1300 dollars not a terrible deal .

      @@justinjones9042 The Riley Defense AK Line, at Atlantic, caught my attention over the last day or so, for it is more extensive than I had given thought to, and several of their rifles and Krinks / Pistols were very interesting to myself. Out of the Pioneer Line, AIM Surplus has the 20 inch barrel model, for $699 and Atlantic has several of the Forged series AK's - the Grom Tactical, and the 7 inch Pistol AK with Pic rail hand guard and pic rail for attachment of brace or folder type to the pic rail, which are of interest for my self also. The video on the Pioneer 20 inch AK brought out something of detail interest for myself, and that is the use of the large stem bolt in that Rifle. The Bulgarian Large Stem Bolts likely would be compatible. The Saiga Rifles use the slim stem Bolts derived from the re-design to the 5.45X39 by the Russians, and the Receivers of all the common cartridge Saiga Receivers are all AK-74 receivers. I have the 2nd Saiga in 5.56X45 in the US, and it was converted by DGS Manufacturing, Ft Myers FL decades ago, from 7.62X39 to 5.56X45 and uses Galil Mags in that caliber. I agree that AK's in .308 are awesome, and their use in a DMR AK is logical for sure.

    • @The_Casual_Collector
      @The_Casual_Collector  11 дней назад

      @@justinjones9042 I hear the same as well, now the 5.56 ones, not so much. They have longevity issues, likely due to the design of their firing pin.

    • @donald2665

      @@justinjones9042 I did type out a reply to you, but it was apparently removed or Censored, as it is not
      in this reply stream so I will type out an abbreviated reply. Another thing I noticed in the Video is that the Bolt utilized on these Pioneer 7.62X39 Rifles is a Large Stem Bolt instead of the narrow Stem Bolts utilized in the Saiga common Caliber Rifles (7.62X39; 5.56; and 5.45X39 ) so a standard Large Stem Bolt (Bulgarian or Russian) could likely be made to work in that Rifle with proper Go Check on Headspace. As you are interested in tinkering with gun smithing, another thing to keep in mind is that the standard Saiga Rifles in the calibers I mentioned above are built using AK-74 Receivers, not AKM Receivers. One can take the 7.62X39 rifles and replace the Barrel with a 5.56 - 0r 5.45 Barrel and tweek the rifle to take specific 5.56 mags such as the Bulgarian, or Galil. I own a Saiga in 5.56, that began Life as a 7.62X39 Rifle, and was converted totally to accept standard furniture and Galil Magazines. Just some food for thought.

      Blem is short for blemish, very slight marks or imperfections that non-blem (factory perfect) dont have out of the box, typically anything marked blemished is cheaper to varying degrees based on visual damage, and not functional damage, as those typically aren't sold
