I have been wanting an electric tortilla press for a while but wasn't sure if I could make corn tortillas in it, your video made up my mind to get one thank you, great video!
If you add 1/4 tsp of CAL (found in Mexican supermarkets) it brings out the wonderful smell of authentic corn tortillas. I do have a Cucina Electric Flour Tortilla Presser and I use it often. I had never thought to make my corn tortillas in the same manner. Unfortunately, I purchased a wooden corn tortilla presser made out of mahogany last week and the tortillas come out perfectly round and thin. I absolutely love it. Had I watched this video, I would not have spent the money on this expensive presser. Love all of your videos! Thank you!
Do you think I could use a product called P.A.M.? I bought 2 5# bags to make arepas and have some still here. It's cooked cornmeal that is then dried. I have contacted the manufacturer who told me that wherever cornmeal is used, it can be replaced with P.A.M., but I haven't tried it. My electric tortilla press is coming by the end of the week, so maybe, I'll try it then. Thank you, for this video. It was quite informative.
Doesn`t exist the concept "masa flour". Dough! I think you just have corn flour. And in Mexico first boild the corn with quicklime. Then grind it. The product is a dough in Spanish masa. Some times we use flour like maseca, but is it not masa flour, just fluor. Maseca saids dry dough, because of the process. But just it happens if you use Nixtamal (boild with quicklime).
Ok one those are not done! They need to be flipped and they have to puff! You needed more water also those are super dry and when cooked correctly they are going to crack. You can also just make the masa into balls. Also most add salt. They are super simple an very good. We make and eat them every day.
OMG Thank you🙏! FINALLY!!! Someone who actually KNOWS wtf they are doing, and EXPLAINS how it works! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Thank you, I wasn't sure if that Tortilla maker works okay with corn dough, now I know, thanks to you.
Glad I could help!
Ditto! Thank you! So much easier then pressing and cooking in the pan!

Thank you for sharing!
If she's using pre made corn masa it already has CAL due to the nixtamalization processing they prepare the corn with prior to grinding.
Looks so tasty! Thank you, now I'm going to have to get one of those gadgets.
si me gusta. se ven ricas las tortillas.. muchas gracias por compartir..👏
Thank you, I'll definitely look into this. I'd probably add some melted butter to the mix.
Why??
Saved this video. Best dang video on youtube. I really appreciate learning this. Well Done!
Thank you! ☺️
I am Mexican, I think you might like to live the tortillas a little longer until they inflate, however txs.I will buy one👍
Thanks for the tips
Good job 👍 it's very easy
Thank you for your tips... ~~~Peace~~~
Totally cool. Another gadget to lust after. Nom.
Fay Thompson With my small kitchen I really have to be selective in which gadgets I keep. This one has definitely been worth it!
@@DesertHavaGarden Me too. I have no room to store gadgets at all.

You could try it, but it likely won’t work the same at masa. It may not hold together as well. But if you have 10# you need to use, it is worth a try.
I have one and didn't have luck with corn tortillas I will try your method if not holding it down makes sense
How'd it go?
aren't they not cook through? and do they inflate with the tortilla maker?
They don’t inflate since it is pressed together when cooking.
Is that masa corn meal? I have that but didn't try it because you are saying corn flour..I do not have corn flour. I have Pan Corn Meal..Thanks!
Yes, it is masa!
Where did you get your dough scraper...thank you for this recipe...
It came in a cake decorating set 😬 I make some pretty fancy cakes for my kids. 😉
Perfect thank u
Do they stay soft & not fall apart?

And need more water! And Is not the correct form to do it. Make a ball as roti.... 🙄
It still turns out in the round tortilla form, so what difference does it actually make? 🤷🏻♀️
Lol research masa using lime. NOT LIME JUICE.
Thx for sharing. Explications very good
My tortilla exploded every time I press I tried for over two hours I gave up it’s going back to Amazon
Well dang it!
Followed the recipe and they broke apart did not hold together. Used King Arthur masa. Not sure what I did wrong.

lime juice, THAT'S FUNNY.
Thanks !
Can’t wait to try!
"Dried in grout?"
Oh.. dried and ground.
🤣
Se miran crudas si las volteas asta que esponje. Estarían más cosinadas
