I bought a Brentwood because of your video. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us how it’s used.
I’ve made flour tortillas for years. Friends ask for them for gatherings and as much as I love to make them for my friends, my back hurts so much because of it.
It took me a few tries to get it right though. Some would come out super flat and hard but with some messing around with the press I figured out that it works best when used at high temp. Also we love our tortillas a little flour-y so I dust flour on mine and the rest is like you explain. My griddle is a long comal used on a gas stove top- THE BEST!!!
I’m so glad you love it!!! I can relate to that back pain lol I can feel it just thinking about it
just did the same. they should cut her a check!
MY Grandma used hands Tortilla 30 yrs ago and Now idea teachology ! Love it want one someday .
I fought to Torilla measures some very wrong and gave up to my hands cause little grease breaking Torilla flipping.. Try it Kicthen aids that pretty good helped 👍
Hola! I bumped into your video as i just bought me this awesome electric press. Can you please do a video review on on the press itself? Like do's and don'ts? Or maybe just what you maybe struggled with at the beginning regards the settings or temperature you use?
Love her lil trick some people say using a tortilla presser doesn’t make the tortillas thin they stay thick and that’s being lazy but I like how she has this tortilla pressed which it looks like it could be a ego waffle machine, but she might just have it on the plate that’s plain because I have a machine that I can make egos griddle sandwich or it’s plain like hers like this I’m gonna try it. I noticed it kind of warm the tortilla while she pressed so it didn’t get stuck and then she transferred it to the griddle and they came out beautiful. Nobody says tortillas need to be as round as a pizza that’s a perfect size, some might think it’s extra work what she’s doing but not really she’s not the one with the damn rolling pin and some extra flower, rolling and rolling for like 2 hours in the kitchen that takes more time I like this idea.. 🎉😂❤
WOW! Made these tonight...YUM! Family gave it a 10+! lol...I only made 1/4 of the recipe though and I still got enough for everyone and extra for tomorrow mornings breakfast tacos.....Thank you!
I’m so glad they loved it 💕 don’t forget to make buñuelos with whatever is left 🤤
I bought the mixer and the press just for this recipe... I love it. I’ve been messing around with the Crisco Butter and just plain Manteca. Sometimes they come out good sometimes it’s a fail. I still haven’t got it down but when they come out good they are delicious!! Thank you for your video.
Thank you for your video. This is what I was looking for. I want to precook my tortillas and the cook them as I need them.
You took what is considered a piece of junk and made it work. I had gotten one of those from a garage sale but hated it because I through it was supposed to cook them. Good job.
I have a KitchenAid Pro line stand mixer, it can definitely handle mixing a batch of dough this size 😛
Haven't made flour tortillas sense I was 18 to many years ago, Great refresher in the process. Great recipe
Thanks
Thanks for watching
Adriana, thank you for this video. I just purchased a Brentwood Tortilla press and I'm waiting for it to arrive. Your video is inspiring.
I have a question about the flour. Could I use self-rising flour?
Nancy how Osborn going with the Brentwood press I bought two weeks any tips what temp do you use on yours
Loved you used the Bosch mixer. Now I will have to try tortilla maker! Thank you 😊
Every time I watch your video I wait for the Not Today Satan LOL. Girl I am 64 and have been rolling tortillas since I was 10. The best kitchen tool for me is my electric tortilla press from Mexico. I do have the Brentwood as well. Love your video.
😂😂😂 that rolling pin has always been my enemy 😂😂😂
I have the tortilla press and curious about what temperature you had it on. Is your electric griddle the 15 inch Presto Tilt N Fold? and if so what temperature... I am so tired of rolling tortillas... I am over 60 and have been making tortillas since I was 10. Yours looked very puffy and light Thank you so much for the great video..
Yes I use the 15 inch presto, love it
Really helpful video- I’ve been determined to learn how to make the perfect homemade tortillas lately and this recipe and your instructions have helped me make one of my better batches yet. But one question I had is did you mean to say 1 tablespoon of baking powder and 1 tablespoon salt instead of teaspoons? Cuz it looked like it was more then just a teaspoon- and most the recipes I’ve seen are half this size and they call for just a teaspoon- so I figured since this was a larger recipe you must have meant to put tablespoon not teaspoon. That was what I used when I did this recipe- tablespoons of each of those not teaspoons
I agree it is a tortilla press, it will cut down the time it takes to roll them out by hand...
Arrrggghhh... Now I want TACOS today.
good job !!!❤️👌🏾 I am going to follow your steps 😍. Thank you for sharing
Wow it took me years to get a kitchen aid mixer and now that I finally got one this past Christmas I started seeing all these videos with the Bosch 😒 I may have to wait another decade to get one😂 I really want one of these Brentwood tortilla press... My tortilla rolling is horrible! My tortillas look like Pac-Man ghosts and different states😂. Thank you for your video
I could have written the part about the tortilla shapes lol 😂 mine have always been horrible until I got the Brentwood press. It’s the most amazing thing ever. And I feel you on wanting the Bosch. That thing is absolutely amazing and a boss when it comes to kneading yeasty doughs and heavy batters for cookies. I highly recommend you get one. It will pay for itself with all the money that you can save down the line. To me the kitchen aid is just an over priced hand held mixer because it has about the same power. Thank you for watching my video. I will be making more Bosch videos soon
Adriana Mezhua Secretos de Panadería y mucho más I know that’s right total hand mixing power! I love baking and cooking so I definitely want one as soon as I can get it and I saw that they came out with a stainless steal black one and it looks awesome! Speaking of horrible tortilla roller I saw a lady making the flor tortillas with her hands like the old school ladies do the corn ones!!! She just slapped them back and forth from one hand to the other like a G😂 thought I’d let you know 😁 I will definitely be looking forward to your future videos thanks❤️
Total G’s for sure. I could never but that’s ok. That Brentwood press is a life saver lol
Update: Ok I was skeptical at 1st. but your recipe is excellent. My tortillas were very ., tender and so bubbly just like in your video. I cut the recipe in half and made only 19 tortillas. The secret (I believe) is the heat on the comal, the amount of Crisco and to Brentwood press., Only press the Brentwood for 3 or 4 seconds,. My family just loved them and so does my back. LOL thank you. This is my new recipe.
I’m so glad to hear that it worked out so well for you and your family. I’m so sorry for the late reply. Not sure why I am just now seeing your message. Thank you for taking the time to update me ❤️
I bought this today.. how do you get the dough from sliding out the front? And that temperature do you use?
Love the demonstration. Thank you.
I prefer the old style way and not the ingredients like you make I use my mom's dad's grandparents recipe!
What was the name/brand of the first mixer you used? That thing was awesome...
It’s a Bosch universal mixer
IKR!?
thanks ... very nice 🙂.... so much for all
We bought the Mixer based on your recommendation... Thanks
That’s awesome, I hope you love it as much as I do
I have same brand but can cook on there too. Thanks for sharing!
Really nice video. Music, too. So now, I am going to make my own tortillas.
Your going to love them
Hi, I looked through a lot of your Q&As, but don’t see an answer to this. What temp do you keep your electric griddle at?
It is amazing. What is griddle brand and where did you buy it from. Thank you in advance.
It’s a presto electric griddle. I believe I ordered from Walmart
Not like mom's, but they look great, I'm sure they taste good as well, saludos
Adriana you did an amazing job with the video as well as your techniques.....EXCELLENT JOB!!!!! NEW SUBBIE!!!
Thank you so much💕
What type of mixer are you using?
Hello, awesome video. 2 questions. Do you let your dough rest and what temperature is your Brentwood set at? Mine and up looking super dry and didn't puff like yours 😢
I let it rest just a few minutes while I get everything else ready. I like to keep my Brentwood tortilla maker between medium and high. Remember that it just extends the actual tortilla. It won’t cook it all the way. You still need to cook it on a griddle of some sort
Congratulations! Adriana 👏
Love your mixer would like to get one , where can I get one . Thank you.
It’s a Bosch mixer. Google search and it will show you where to get one
Price?
Nice recipe, thank you,but please can you tell how much water did you used, because i missed that in the video
Ursula Sewnarain 2 1/2 cups
Ingenious! I love this video! I own a Bosch mixer, too, and never would I have thought about using it to make flour tortillas. I would have used the kitchen aid mixer. The Bosch is a better idea! And using the electric tortilla press is smart, too. The rolling pin always makes funky shaped tortillas. Salen bien feos! I busted out laughing when I read the statement "not today, Satan, not today!" I'm writing this recipe down and will try this soon. You're one smart lady!
Thank you. Definitely try it out in the Bosch. It’s so worth it to make a bunch at one time. They store beautifully in the fridge in an air tight bag. My family loves them
What crazy genius invented that mixer? Two counter rotating whisks?
Hi what is the hot surface you are using as a pan or skulite to cook them. It makes things easier coz u r able to cook more than one at once. Please share. Thank you
It’s a large electric griddle. The link is in the description box
Cool mixer!
Thank you!
What kind of mixer is that I want one
Mi receta favorita
I love flour tortillas
Más si están echas a mano
Hello 👋🏼 What’s the size of that tortilla press? They look delicious..
I believe it’s a 12 inch
I know there is a 8” and 10” but not sure if there is a 12” .. But thank you 😊
Maybe it’s a 10 inch, I know I got the bigger size of the two.
@@maryramirez4960 I own a 12 inch Brentwood press.
My ball keep sliding out the the tortilla press and cooks uneven any tips?
Gracias por compartir la receta de las tortillas de harina un comentario no se oyeron las cantidades.
Nice Snow Balls
Good lot of bubble thin better than thick medium won't bubble !!
One other thing, who is the manufacturer of your mixer? Thanks again.
Bosch, the link is in the description box
How much water you recommend for 1cup flour?
Good
I need a tortilla press and that mixer!
It’s game changer
Una pregunta a que temperatura tenia la tortillera?
Entre mediano y alto
Adriana, the tortilla press is also electric?
Yes
It's electric because it's meant to cook the tortilla as well, but it's probably designed by wypipo so it is inefficient for authentic Mexican style tortillas. A cast iron skillet is okay to continue the cooking process if you don't have an electric griddle or a comal (cast iron flat pan with no lifted sides). But the electric press will precook the tortilla so it doesn't shrink back like a manual press, so it's perfect for that purpose.
Curious to know why you did not post water amount? Maybe I missed it
I didn't see it in there but I use 1 cup hot water to 3 cups flour plus "manteca" (lard or shortening)
I’m so sorry, I must have missed it. I used 2 1/2 cups of boiling water. This was one of my first videos. I cringe looking back 😂 but I’ll update the description box

@@adrianamezhua hey you did a great 1st video.
Thank you
What temperature?
Mine don’t come out round! What temp do you use yours?
I keep it between medium and high
I love my Bosch!
I’ve had one for years & years.
I too dislike the kitchen-aide mixers!
Glad to know I’m not the only one!
My only questing is why is there a small ripe on almost every tortilla after pressing it?
Your tortilla press is too hot
No se ve mal. Se ve como la de paquete. Claro que sí la guardas para calentar más tarde en el comal se esponjara mas
Where did you purchase your mixer?
Amazon. The link is in the description box
yo i had to subscribe. the flexes in this video are too many to count!
Thank you for subscribing to my channel
Dont know why but I have tried three times to watch your video and after it gets halfway, I get the spinning circle dance. Tried every trick I know and still....it is a no go. Maybe after the virus is over................
What kind of mixer do you use
A Bosch universal mixer. The link is in the description box
What kind of griddle do you use
A presto electric griddle from walmart
How much water did you use?
Precious Enriquez 2 1/2 cups
Good one NOT TODAY SATAN LOL...Nice video. 👍👍👍👍👍♥️
🤣😂🤣😂 that rolling pin has really been trying me over the years
The Brentwood has both top and bottom heating. It can cook the tortillas. No reason to cook them on the flat top.
I like the flat top option so that I can make them faster
The Brentwood claims to be a tortilla maker, why do you have to use the comal? Shouldn’t it make the tortillas?
Debbie Flores-Pham it’s a tortilla press. It only does the rolling for you. Basically replaces the rolling pin and precooks the tortilla. You need a comal to finish cooking them
Se me antojó un burrito de lengua!!!! Gracias por la receta👍
Por dos
Hola Adriana
💖💓💖💓💖💓💖💓

manny Paredes you can order it from amazon. The link is in the description box.
estoy participando en el sorteo por la batidora que explicas al final de este video 👉ruclips.net/video/YUj_36eHcYQ/видео.html
Did you have to show balling every one of them !!!
I think her point is to show with the help of a Bosch mixer and electric heated press you to can make several dozen tortillas in under a certain time. She did a great job. You can always fast forward. I enjoy watching her work
Time waste
