    I bought a Brentwood because of your video. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us how it’s used.
    I’ve made flour tortillas for years. Friends ask for them for gatherings and as much as I love to make them for my friends, my back hurts so much because of it.
    It took me a few tries to get it right though. Some would come out super flat and hard but with some messing around with the press I figured out that it works best when used at high temp. Also we love our tortillas a little flour-y so I dust flour on mine and the rest is like you explain. My griddle is a long comal used on a gas stove top- THE BEST!!!

    Hola! I bumped into your video as i just bought me this awesome electric press. Can you please do a video review on on the press itself? Like do's and don'ts? Or maybe just what you maybe struggled with at the beginning regards the settings or temperature you use?

    Love her lil trick some people say using a tortilla presser doesn’t make the tortillas thin they stay thick and that’s being lazy but I like how she has this tortilla pressed which it looks like it could be a ego waffle machine, but she might just have it on the plate that’s plain because I have a machine that I can make egos griddle sandwich or it’s plain like hers like this I’m gonna try it. I noticed it kind of warm the tortilla while she pressed so it didn’t get stuck and then she transferred it to the griddle and they came out beautiful. Nobody says tortillas need to be as round as a pizza that’s a perfect size, some might think it’s extra work what she’s doing but not really she’s not the one with the damn rolling pin and some extra flower, rolling and rolling for like 2 hours in the kitchen that takes more time I like this idea.. 🎉😂❤

    Really helpful video- I’ve been determined to learn how to make the perfect homemade tortillas lately and this recipe and your instructions have helped me make one of my better batches yet. But one question I had is did you mean to say 1 tablespoon of baking powder and 1 tablespoon salt instead of teaspoons? Cuz it looked like it was more then just a teaspoon- and most the recipes I’ve seen are half this size and they call for just a teaspoon- so I figured since this was a larger recipe you must have meant to put tablespoon not teaspoon. That was what I used when I did this recipe- tablespoons of each of those not teaspoons

    Wow it took me years to get a kitchen aid mixer and now that I finally got one this past Christmas I started seeing all these videos with the Bosch 😒 I may have to wait another decade to get one😂 I really want one of these Brentwood tortilla press... My tortilla rolling is horrible! My tortillas look like Pac-Man ghosts and different states😂. Thank you for your video

    • @adrianamezhua
      @adrianamezhua  4 года назад +1

      I could have written the part about the tortilla shapes lol 😂 mine have always been horrible until I got the Brentwood press. It’s the most amazing thing ever. And I feel you on wanting the Bosch. That thing is absolutely amazing and a boss when it comes to kneading yeasty doughs and heavy batters for cookies. I highly recommend you get one. It will pay for itself with all the money that you can save down the line. To me the kitchen aid is just an over priced hand held mixer because it has about the same power. Thank you for watching my video. I will be making more Bosch videos soon

I love baking and cooking so I definitely want one as soon as I can get it and I saw that they came out with a stainless steal black one and it looks awesome! Speaking of horrible tortilla roller I saw a lady making the flor tortillas with her hands like the old school ladies do the corn ones!!! She just slapped them back and forth from one hand to the other like a G😂 thought I’d let you know 😁 I will definitely be looking forward to your future videos thanks❤️

    Update: Ok I was skeptical at 1st. but your recipe is excellent. My tortillas were very ., tender and so bubbly just like in your video. I cut the recipe in half and made only 19 tortillas. The secret (I believe) is the heat on the comal, the amount of Crisco and to Brentwood press., Only press the Brentwood for 3 or 4 seconds,. My family just loved them and so does my back. LOL thank you. This is my new recipe.

    • @adrianamezhua
      @adrianamezhua  4 года назад +2

      I let it rest just a few minutes while I get everything else ready. I like to keep my Brentwood tortilla maker between medium and high. Remember that it just extends the actual tortilla. It won’t cook it all the way. You still need to cook it on a griddle of some sort

    Ingenious! I love this video! I own a Bosch mixer, too, and never would I have thought about using it to make flour tortillas. I would have used the kitchen aid mixer. The Bosch is a better idea! And using the electric tortilla press is smart, too. The rolling pin always makes funky shaped tortillas. Salen bien feos! I busted out laughing when I read the statement "not today, Satan, not today!" I'm writing this recipe down and will try this soon. You're one smart lady!

      It's electric because it's meant to cook the tortilla as well, but it's probably designed by wypipo so it is inefficient for authentic Mexican style tortillas. A cast iron skillet is okay to continue the cooking process if you don't have an electric griddle or a comal (cast iron flat pan with no lifted sides). But the electric press will precook the tortilla so it doesn't shrink back like a manual press, so it's perfect for that purpose.
