courtenay100 I'm in between this the spectre too. This new 9560 is having several major issues tho so maybe we should wait a while more for Dell to fix the bugs
I can't believe the issues with the motherboard. After spending so much money on what should be a cutting edge machine that wants to rival the MBP....I know a guy locally in my town that put this up for sale after a few weeks with it. His original XPS 15 had a motherboard issue after a few months so they replaced it with a 9560. Put it for sale after a few days because the issues are there and the wireless speed is pathetic. HP Spectre X360 15" - yes not as powerful specs but if you only do light to moderate gaming and photo editing....this is an amazing little machine.
P Raker Did you watch my Spectre video? Amazing laptop with a much faster hard drive. But believe me, if you download and install windows from scratch all those issues will go away. Installing all the drivers one a time.
You make my point. You have to go through work and tribulations to optimize a machine that you spent thousands of dollars for to get it right. Meanwhile, Dell should be 'getting it right' out of the box. I do understand that after your 'work' you get a great machine. Keep up the great work on your videos. Always enjoy them.
+P Raker You got it 100% right! That's exactly what I told Dell in one of my conversations "no wonder why Apple has so many followers" Most of the time they give you products ready to go and costumer service are #1 but Dell service is BAD! I'm getting an Alienware 13 i7 7700 Oled next week, lets see how it goes.
looking at your in depth video and comparing it to hp spectre 360 15 kaby lake one gets more bang for the buck, and I noticed some non smoothness in video game compared with hp?
+kopmd j I will, but let me tell you that Quadcore CPU makes a huge difference and Nvidia 1050 of course. Game play is fantastic and remember I'm pushing the graphics harder in this computer.
I'm getting random shut downs and terrible performance in Premiere Pro. This is the worst performing laptop I've ever had. I don't get what the hype is all about.
+chris Johnson Not really but is not complicated because you can download the copy of windos and drivers for your specific computer from dell support site.
I have problems with premiere pro, that the interface is lagging. When I move around it, the refresh rate seems to me something like 5 frames per second. Is there any way to fix that?
Mario Bianchi yes it got everything good to go. Just make sure before booting with the USB windows ISO you also have in this USB the Toshiba Hard Drive drivers because windows installation needs them to find your SSD
Great vid Jon, I had to return one piece to Dell because of constant problems with drivers and some motherboard issue. Maybe a fresh copy could be a sollution? could you write more tips on installing a fresh copy at this machine?
Krzysztof Tkacz Yes wiping the whole thing is the solution but not restoring with the windows restore it came with, you have to download windows 10 from Microsoft (the version that came with pro or home) make the bootable USB and copy the Toshiba SSD driver into the same USB .....why? Because when you try booting with the USB it won't find the hard drive, only mounting the drivers will. If you need those drivers let me know.
I bought the cheapest xps 15 9560 with the i7, it came with 8gb Ram and 256 gb ssd, but I upgraded the specs with the fastest 32 gb ram and 1 tb samsung ssd because I knew that the expensive models came with slower components and toshiba ssd's
Mine does it, plus Wifi issues, already applied for a refund, other people's motherboard and memory died after 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 months etc, I have it since 3 days, but the risk is too high to wait for battery, screen, motherboard or memory failure.
I had the full HD version, but I searched on Reddit and I've found that 4K and FHD screens are also had quality issues and flickering. Even backlight bleed. But the worst thing is, Dell sending out engineers to change the screens in case of backlight bleed and flickering and they are using second hand/refurbished screens as spare parts! Even motherboards, memory, touchpads are not new spare parts. That was the reason I gave up with dealing with DELL, and I've refunded my XPS after two weeks. My screen was fine, but my Wifi dropping, GPU cooling problem, CPU coil whine, and touchpad and keyboard issues were too much for me to live with this laptop.
You done well. I appreciate. I'm thinking to get a xps 9560 FHD model. But after that I searched in RUclips and google also that it's 4k model has some problems such as you have said. But if dell doing like that it will be very annoying. So I want a good windows ultrabook. Can you suggest me for which I should go?
At the beginning yes it had many issues specially with the Killer wireless card but they being addressed lately. Best thing to do is reinstall all the latest drivers when you get it or wipe windows if possible.
Man all I can say is great! I personally stick more with my Alienware 13r3 because of the game capabilities and Oled display but the XPS 15 is something else.
Wyatt Marks All XPS are here: www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/xps-15-9560-laptop/drivers ....is that what you are asking for?
LordOfGears2 Ok I meant drivers for gtx 1050, killer wireless and the intel drivers for Toshiba hard drive because without those hard drive drivers the bios won't recognize the disk.
JonGCruzNY I so far have had flickering screen issue and what I did was update the bios and also I have signature edition so I have not had any delays and photo quality is amazing
Great video, I have been trying to decide between this and the spectre you reviewed before. Please do a comparison video. Thanks again! :)
courtenay100 I'm currently testing the Alienware 13 r3 Oled (will post video soon) so also include this one on your options. What's you primary usage?

Should be a powerhouse. Looking forward to your video. My HP X360 15 is very solid and delivers what I need. Cheers.
Those download speeds look amazing to me. Well, I guess I do get a usual down speed of 5mbsp and 600kbps up
I9+Gtx 1050=♡

It would be nice to hear how load this thing operates while playing GTA or something else.
Andreas Patock While playing GTA you'll have high temperature and about 75 to 80% CPU load.
You sure it's HDMI 1.4 and not 2.0? I recall Dell confirming that new XPS 15 will have HDMI 2.0. I don't own the laptop myself so I can't check.
Nox Vega 100% sure is 1.4 The Alienware 13 r3 that I also have has an 2.0
I'm getting random shut downs and terrible performance in Premiere Pro. This is the worst performing laptop I've ever had. I don't get what the hype is all about.
Do you have a video on how to step by step install fresh windows and what drivers to get. Also installing new ssd how to
+chris Johnson Not really but is not complicated because you can download the copy of windos and drivers for your specific computer from dell support site.

Anton Yeshchenko You mean the Premier playback? if so what's the playback quality you have? is the video 4k or 1080?
I mean timeline scroll. or timeline zoom, it is not smooth
Wiping it all did help? Did you encounter any issues?
Mario Bianchi yes it got everything good to go. Just make sure before booting with the USB windows ISO you also have in this USB the Toshiba Hard Drive drivers because windows installation needs them to find your SSD

kilikolo56 Yes you are totally right. I just ordered Alienware 13 Oled. Let's see the review what's the issues.
experienced any coil whine? cheers!
+Brian Lyle Gimenez No yet but my Alienware 13 has it.
Mine does it, plus Wifi issues, already applied for a refund, other people's motherboard and memory died after 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 months etc, I have it since 3 days, but the risk is too high to wait for battery, screen, motherboard or memory failure.
Joseph T had it any display flickering issues? which model do you had 4K or FHD?
I had the full HD version, but I searched on Reddit and I've found that 4K and FHD screens are also had quality issues and flickering. Even backlight bleed. do it have any issues / problems? like display flickering, software lags, sudden shutdowns or Even with the killer wifi card?
At the beginning yes it had many issues specially with the Killer wireless card but they being addressed lately. Best thing to do is reinstall all the latest drivers when you get it or wipe windows if possible.
do you got any problem in this laptop bro?? im going to buy this laptop...should i buy or not?
Man all I can say is great! I personally stick more with my Alienware 13r3 because of the game capabilities and Oled display but the XPS 15 is something else.
Could I get a list of those drivers? Great video - thanks man!
Wyatt Marks All XPS are here: www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/xps-15-9560-laptop/drivers ....is that what you are asking for?
JonGCruzNY No, I was talking about how he said he factory reset it and had to download some drivers from the manufacturer (of the part, not Dell)
LordOfGears2 Ok I meant drivers for gtx 1050, killer wireless and the intel drivers for Toshiba hard drive because without those hard drive drivers the bios won't recognize the disk.
I just ordered Alienware 13 Oled i7 7700. Let's see the review what's the issues.
JonGCruzNY Great video! I was hoping you could recommend how to optimize the settings? I am not that savvy with computer.
D Flores Best way is to install Windows from scratch and each driver. did you check my video about Alienware 13? it was a headache.
JonGCruzNY Thank you.
JonGCruzNY
I so far have had flickering screen issue and what I did was update the bios and also I have signature edition so I have not had any delays and photo quality is amazing
Anatoly Masterovoy Absolutely right, Dell has been busy fixing many issues on the 9560 and Alienware 13 r3
Have you been able to fix the wireless issue ?
Ashvish Ponen Man new drivers work better but still some lag here and there but yes is almost perfect.
i was about buying this laptop then i saw the review i think i will change my choice to www.sagernotebook.com/Notebook-NP7850.html
The Nvidia GTX 1050 is not ment for gaming
