    I am a long time dell precision user, one thing is if u r looking for slim workstation u have to compromise with lot of things. U might have an issue with heat dissipation and next is upgrade. I have a Dell precision 7710 the cooling is fantastic as long as u don't block the air intake ports which is in the bottom I mean any laptop. For me I don't prefer the slim and sleek models due to the above reason.

      didn't notice any mention of the unusable web cam, which at this price range is very odd to me, hardly any point having it, unless you like people looking up your nose.

    I'm looking to get a new laptop from my work who gives out Dell's. Wondering if I should go for the 5530 or wait until the 5540 comes out hopefully in 2019? I read the 5530 had a good amount of fan noise as well as thermal throttling, although not as bad as the earlier 5520.

      It is really up to you, but the performance limitations are because of the chassis size. Unless Intel makes radical chip architecture changes in the 9th generation CPUs I doubt they are going to be able to make any significant changes to increase the chassis' ability to cool a 45W CPU. 45W heat needs 45W of cooling. To be clear though, the thermal issues I found are not enough to keep me from using the 5530 as my day to day laptop, they just aren't noticeable outside of benchmark testing.

    After one month of tweaking drivers with TB16 docking station that has active fans (and noisy) and not waking up the system, not adding peripherals and Realtek Drivers does not work properly. Adding 2nd extra SSD is hell on earth, still solving problems with freezing. Latest nvidia driver with bug!? After reinstaling system problem persists so I am deeply frustrated with this laptop. Is this really DELL? Ctrl+Alt+DELLete

    At 0:22 you say that theres "a fingerprint sensor within the power button".
    I never even knew it was a fingerprint sensor.
    If it is a sensor, how do i enable it?
    Going on settings it says that fingerprints are unavailable as it couldn't find a fingerprint scanner.
    Also, when i go on device manager, it doesn't show me any biometric option, showing that I have a fingerprint sensor.
    Ive been searching soo much for an answer. On the Dell website, it shows people have had fingerprint issues on the same laptop as me 'Dell Precision 5530' but I've never had an option to even enable my fingerprint sensor.
    ANYONE please help.

    Dear Sir, twò questions:
    1. Is it Pen 🖊 Compatibile ⁉️ The latest Precision 4K Touchscreen is Pen 🖊 Compatibile in this 5530.
    2. Is it worth it in late 2023 or 2024 ⁉️

    This one or Macbook Pro Vega 20? I will use it for rendering 3D photogrammetric models. Thanks!

    • @Candleinthedark2
      @Candleinthedark2 5 лет назад +1

      Bernardo Candido definitely a pc with 4 cores 😅. For 3D you dont need much cores for example but 4 cores are great. You need more when it comes to shading . Therefore there won’t be a core too much. I wouldn’t recommend a Mac for 3D Photogrammetric models ,because most of the Programms are shortened for macOS or only playable over parallels or boot camp or something like that. Programms like parallels or taking space from your drive for windows isn’t something what you want. It slows down everything. Apple has it own programms and while you using that it’s soo great, because it’s optimized. So if you working with apple Programms get a mac, if you’re working with Autocad , photoshop etc get a pc :)

    • @luz4466

      The GPU unit, this one is quadro the other one is Geforce (so this one is made for things like CAD and the xps 15 is for gaming)

    Anyone knows if the quadro card is useful in linux?

    • @DGTLBits
      @DGTLBits  5 лет назад

      Absolutely. Dell will not sell you Ubuntu installed from the factory with the Quadro card selected (the configurator will force you to select Windows), but as long as you select the Intel WiFi card option, everything will work fine under Ubuntu, and the driver support for Quadro cards in Linux is great.
