Sams was the king of towing const. trailers. I worked O’Hare and my buddy worked at Sams. I left in 87’and they were running B models and Rmodels. That’s the reason for all wheel drives the Construction and off road sites. They had a crap load of trucks on the road too. All pipe booms Etc. They were building that Hubbard. If memory serves and that super long truck was originally on a R-model Mack. They knew their stuff….it was a great video man. I learned some things thanks. Around O’Hare airport it was us and Ernie’s but the off road dozer stuff,The Off-road recovery they were exactly like Quiring towing with a lot more trucks. Great video……If you go to their website you can see that Kenworth,The Hubbard and a group shot with the Landall and a couple others in their prime.
Awesome I'm really glad you found these videos!
@@weldingandwheeling9883Have you ever heard of a company called Dicks from Joliet?? Basically same company with Mfg. wreckers. All old but well taken care of. Might make nice content. Or the company in I think from southern Ill. that has all old trucks B’s,R’s with modern wreckers like 1060’s .Can’t think of name but if ask around.
Nice Autocar AT64!.I used to drive one like that!.😎
I agree it’s a sweet truck.
My pick would be that sharp looking Autocar AT64 semi 🙂👍
That one has my favorite bed for sure
Not a bad choice.
Awesome!!! Franklin Park Illinois is in the Chicago Suburbs.
Yes I think about 40 minutes from down town? According to the GPS
Pretty good videos. The old heavy duty Holmes wreckers very cool. Being inside saved a lot of those trucks, I hope they go to a good home.
I hope so too, a roof makes all the difference!
Those 6x6 are ex military diamond T 968A
Awesome thanks!
Oil field trucks
The A car sleeper looks like a Western Star sleeper and back then they were all built by White, fwiw
I would agree it looks like a western star sleeper.
I'd like that AT64 A-car🤘
Me too!
Back in the 70s 80s and part of the 90s had radio dispatch. Then the pager and cell phone made it obsolete
AH its as simple as it sounds I guess
Towing company near me in the 70s had "Radio Dispatched" in big letters on all their trucks. It was just a CB, so maybe good for 3 miles.
Def the old green Fed for me, I knew a guy who had 4 of them when I was a kid - one of them had a turbo off a helicopter and it could be heard coming for miles! Thanks for the vid. Cheers
I’d have loved to hear that!
Nice rig
Thanks I’d agree
Which truck would you take home if you had the cash? I think Capt Sewer would be my go to.
Where was that Captain sewer truck from Chicago what was the company name on the door
@@ih8you2002 Feaker & Sons Co. Inc.
That caddy is likely a v16 and should easily fetch 100k. Awesome car and trucks
Hmm cool, I didn't know that
Back in the day most tow trucks were radio dispatched over the CB radio some may have even had stronger radio systems
I think one of these trucks had a pretty serious CB in it if I remember correctly
Radio dispatch was a big thing or the driver could call back to the office for information or call the driver for another job that was the greatest latest technology
Awesome thank you I finally learned it!
I would love to have that rig but I don't know how much they are asking for it.
I’d like to have them all!
thanks for the video! I been following this on FB tow group I'm in. I am greattaful he doesn't live by me LOL. I would end up owning on. or two
They need to be saved! buy them all lol
I would say that Brockway has a Chicago Pipe Boom.
Cool never heard of that
Didn't see anything in there that I wouldn't take if I could afford it!
Ha I agree
Love to see the heavy haul mack in action
Me too, If I could afford to save on of these that would be my first choice
Love them old Mack’s but I hated seeing that foam insulation that rusts the hell out of metal
Hmm I didn't know that.
Nice Autocar
I agree!
That international 190 should have a red diamond 450ci.
Hmm thanks that is cool to know, I don't know much about gas internationals
I love mack
I agree!
Some nice trucks ty
Thank you for watching!
That Mack at 12.00 would love to have it. That plate on the back is for one of the old school mechanical detachable neck lowboys the neck has rollers on the front edge you have to drop it pull the dog bone plates on the necks bottom then back back under it and then pull away . Make sure the pin is locked or you will drop the neck on the ground a embarrassing mistake. Lol and a quad box ! What engine does it have ? Gas or diesel ?
That one was diesel and I believe it was a much newer Cummins in it
autoc ar road tractor id love to have where in chicago is it at
These were actually in between Milwaukee and Chicago. Two yards
Hopefuly sum insulation repairs.
Yeah that would be good.
That last Federal doesn’t look like a Detroit,no blower unless it’s a gas engine 🤷♂️
I could be wrong; I didn't spend too much time looking at that truck since they were keeping it.
Mack looked like a Cummins
I agree!
You don't know squat about trucks do ya?
Hey Bruce thanks for watching! I was clear about not knowing everything about these trucks from the start….
To bad everything in the collection was never taken care off. Looks more like a junk store.
I think I have to disagree with you, these trucks being inside is much better treatment than alot of collections I find. Sure they could of always been stored better but It goes the other way too.
@dieselcreek
thanks for watching
