First time using Tekkna today on v1.1 previously detected this harvest with GMP, Deus 1 and Deus 2 in general..with no luck.... Today with Tekkna brought the field alive I found 4 hammered and 4 Roman in under 3 hours....
I have now used this program for about 4 months. Hunted 90% of the time on ground that I have detected for over 10 years. Countless times with high end machine and the Deus 1 & 2, This program really showed me what I had missed in the mid range targets plus sniffing out the high conductors as well. I do now work with zero reactivity as depth is amazing, on the smallest of targets in the iron. Thank You Gary for the amazing program.
Hi, Garry. Tested your Teckna program for the XP Deus 2 versions 2.0. It works great! Thank you for the knowledge you have shared with the world. Good luck!
My first outing using Tekkna this morning, on a small noisy patch of forest I’ve combed dozens of times, yielded a Roman coin and brooch when I was adamant there was nothing left to find. I love the programme’s quietness and how it hooks on to the faintest positive signal. Great job Gary, I’m not too sure how it works with that discrimination setting, but it does. Thanks!
Hello gary, I have tried tekna several times now and it works very well for me. I searched in a field with a lot of iron and disturbances. with tekna I got the best result by increasing the response speed to 2.5-3. Yesterday I found my first silver coin of around 11 millimeters and it came in really hard on the meter. Thank you. greetings from the Netherlands
Hi Gary , great video as always ! I’ve tried the Tekkna a few times now and have had some success . I went to a totally wretched iron infested sight today where I’ve struggled badly to find anything. However today , a couple of thimbles some small non ferrous pieces and a small skeleton key really surprised me. It’s very hard to not dig those 50-50 targets though , which were all junk. I think Tekkna is a winner so far.
Awesome video as always Gary. Your new settings look fantastic, can’t wait to get out and give it a go. Cheers for your program, and thanks for sharing.
Hey Gary just tried out your program and tried at an old cellar hole littered with iron ,I’ve hit this spot for years and haven’t found much in quite a while but this program you have popped out an old 1872 Indian head penny today and it was a clean hit on it ! This is my go to program now thanks Gary !

Hello Gary. It's amazing! Testing Tekna second day today, on scythian site. And I have feeling like my productivity increased on 20-30 %. Just lowered reactivity to 2.5, also I tried 2 - but its to many phantoms
Cheers Gary, punching the settings in tonight. Tomorrows trip out is on a site that has proved very tricky for me in the past, fingers crossed for some good results !
Top job gary had a few hours with this today on some of my washed out sites. Really good on iron infested picked out some non ferrous amongst it all.Work in progress. Another tool in the box for sure.ATB Andy.
Interesting program Gary, I have thought for a while the D2 likes a higher disc compared to the D1, you only have to look at how the Sonar operates on multifrequency. Would be interesting to see what feathering in some audio filter does on the slightly scratchy signals. I will be giving this program a go the weekend for sure.
You are right Dan, the audio filter may help, bear in mind that was using the RC speaker, combined with a microphone is never a good combo. It sounds much sweeter with headphones.
I have been on V2 since it came out and I think it is working great. I dig a lot a holes where I dig iron in the plug and coin the in the hole, just liked you showed. This is why I love this machine. Gary you are a funny man, thumbs down twice. Disc that high, never thought of it. So I am going to try this. Thanks for sharing. See you Wednesday night. 😀
Great video ! I have been running my D2 very close to those settings for a while now but the disc up to 42 was the only thing that differed. I built two custom configurations for these settings one from the general program and the other from SFT. If the site is wet I use the one off the GP and if its dry switch to the SFT build….very good settings! I gotta admit this video gave me a confidence boost that I have started to figure this machine out. Thanks again!!
Thanks for the video! I just loaded this program and am looking forward to see how it performs in a few of my favorite iron infested old schoolyards. I just need to wait a week or two for the bright sun and warmer temperatures to unthaw the thin layer of ground frost in my area. I'll post another comment after I've had to chance to try it out.

Hi CW Pitch is one of the most dynamic audio choices. I do use pitch, as you probably know Goldfield and Relic also use this audio. Although it gives a good target intensity range, many choose a form of tone ID to determine conductivity.
Hi Gary I have just received D2 and totally unfamiliar with it yet but I am loading the Tekkna prog, got as far as silencer zero> Audio> scroll down to high square and it's here I get lost, I look to find the route to click on high tones but I have jumped out of the program and have to start again. Sorry to be such a pain Gary but I finally, somehow fell into tones and was getting; Filt>Equalizer>PWM>Audio out. (It's going to be 'easy when you know how'.) I hope it's not just me having this prob.
@@The-skillschool Got there, we can both get out tea now Gary!!!! Many thanx for your patience but I know from your Deus 1 progs, it will be well worth the trouble.
Hi Gary I’m still on 1.1 mainly as it’s tedious to keep re entering all the custom stuff. I thought 2.0 was just for the deep hunter (or whatever it’s called) are there other differences? Thx Mike
Disc at 42 must be changing something in the background if it does anything, because with iron/reject volume at 10, you still hear everything at full volume. Iron volume controls the volume of everything below the disc setting in full tones. I would like to know what the disc 42 is doing.
Bonjour Garry savoir vous si il existe une application ou un site ou je peux faire traduire vos vidéos en français savez vous si c'est possible avec l'intelligence artificielle si oui ou désolé de toutes c'est question mais je n'y connais rien en informatique
The real question is what is it doing different than my regular fast program and heavy iron loaded sites? I put the program to the test yesterday and checked every My normal program and could not tell any difference. Just wondering where this program is going to help me? Thanks for all your help and videos.
Thanks for your thoughts Paul. It's the way it stops you on targets. Most programs will find said coins/ Targets. I have a video on that very subject soon.
Thanks Gary, I’ll give that a go next time I’m out. Just bought WS2 11 headphones and I followed your vid for pairing which was great, however, out on the field I could hear the pad setting tones clearly but any targets are just coming through as a quiet high pitched squeak?? Paired again but still the same - any suggestions? Thanks 🙏 😊
Just updated to v2.0 and placed the settings in and had a quick listen to a hammered and a half cut hammered but might have to play around with sound volume due to my hearing being not so good dont mind me asking what sound volumes have you got it on for signals please Gary ty
Gary I’ve been using prog 2 reactive 1.5 sensitivity 95 audio response up to 6 not complicating things on new plough and stubble getting plenty digs Quarter hammered etc
Hello. I am a beginner, so bear with me. Do you think Tekkna will work in the forest? I've been searching for videos on detecting in forest, but not that much to be found. Cheers from Norway.
@metal_detecting Thanks for the feedback. The ground is dry and has light brown soil. I don't know if that info makes a difference. I will try it tomorrow🙂 I'm going to try it in an area where I already found a couple of silver [1696 and 1780]. I have used the Deep HC program, so I am curious to see if Tekkna will revel som NF among some Iron spots I have skipped.
Great informative video 👍 I’ve been using offset at 15 for a while & works great on Roman sites however the discrim so high took me by surprise & will definitely be giving that a try Thanks again Gary & Paul for sharing
Wow, this is radical compared to past programs. I’m hoping this will be a killer around cellar holes and foundations. Thanks Gary, awesome stuff as usual !
Gary, I'm having a discussion about this program with a friend, and a question arose that I hope you can answer with authority... what is the difference between discrimination and notch, aside from the fact that notch makes no sound and has a start and end value? Why do we have both?
@@The-skillschoolI guess I didn't phrase my question adequately. I do realize what you said in your answer. What I'm asking, I guess, is why do both exist? You can just as well set a notch where the bottom end is 0. The only real difference that I can see is that discrim gives an iron tone for everything that is being eliminated, whereas notch silences those targets. So, again... why do we have both?
First time using Tekkna today on v1.1 previously detected this harvest with GMP, Deus 1 and Deus 2 in general..with no luck.... Today with Tekkna brought the field alive I found 4 hammered and 4 Roman in under 3 hours....

Although it gives a good target intensity range, many choose a form of tone ID to determine conductivity.
I noticed Gary you do not use the 11 inch coil is there any particular reason for that👍👍
Not really GD, the 9" is just the one I am most comfortable with.

Sorry to be such a pain Gary but I finally, somehow fell into tones and was getting; Filt>Equalizer>PWM>Audio out. (It's going to be 'easy when you know how'.) I hope it's not just me having this prob.
Go to PWM and press the + button twice
@@The-skillschool Got there, we can both get out tea now Gary!!!! Many thanx for your patience but I know from your Deus 1 progs, it will be well worth the trouble.
Hi Gary I’m still on 1.1 mainly as it’s tedious to keep re entering all the custom stuff. I thought 2.0 was just for the deep hunter (or whatever it’s called) are there other differences? Thx Mike
You are correct Mike, version 1.1 will work just as well.
@@The-skillschool Cheers Gary I could’ve done with trialling it last weekend on a difficult Roman site….will give it a go! Regards Mike
Will give this one a go on V1:1 on Sunday cheers Gary
Disc at 42 must be changing something in the background if it does anything, because with iron/reject volume at 10, you still hear everything at full volume. Iron volume controls the volume of everything below the disc setting in full tones. I would like to know what the disc 42 is doing.
From what I can make out ( only with full tones) it changes the tone breaks.
Do you think turn the discrimination up that high would work on general with the silencer of and caps off ?
No I dont
Bonjour Garry savoir vous si il existe une application ou un site ou je peux faire traduire vos vidéos en français savez vous si c'est possible avec l'intelligence artificielle si oui ou désolé de toutes c'est question mais je n'y connais rien en informatique
RUclips have subtitles in your language David.
Click the subtitles icon at the bottom and choose your language.
Help! When I get to the audio type, there is no minus or plus icon to change to High Sqr, any ideas? updated to V2
Press the plus button
You certainly use the bone conduction headphone output, right?
The real question is what is it doing different than my regular fast program and heavy iron loaded sites? I put the program to the test yesterday and checked every My normal program and could not tell any difference. Just wondering where this program is going to help me? Thanks for all your help and videos.
Thanks for your thoughts Paul.
It's the way it stops you on targets.
Most programs will find said coins/ Targets.
I have a video on that very subject soon.
what could be changed to soften those high spikes?
Audio response perhaps
Nice one young man keep them interested video coming from Cornwall. I is loving the deus 11😊
Cheers Tim, give it a try down your neck of the woods.
Thanks 🙏 😊
Sorry Gary re above it should say WSA 11 👍
Sounds like they are on different versions.
Software versions
Thanks Gary, yes I think you’re right. Going to upgrade my Deus to match 👍
Hello Sir. May I ask how to discriminate to 42 on the WS6? Thanks
Just plus the disc level to 42
It's all in the manual, I will post a video up soon.
I'm expecting delivery of a new Deus 2, it will be version 2, will that be an issue regarding the Tekkna prog Gary?
No that's a good version 1.1 or 2.0 is good.
@@The-skillschool Many thanx Gary
Just updated to v2.0 and placed the settings in and had a quick listen to a hammered and a half cut hammered but might have to play around with sound volume due to my hearing being not so good dont mind me asking what sound volumes have you got it on for signals please Gary ty
I never look at the sound levels, so can't help on that one.
Hi Gary seems to work in V1.1 iv named it the Winkler.😅
Nice one Paul
will this program work in the Deus 1? Thanks for any help
No
Hi Gary , what size coil would you recommend when purchasing the Deus 2 please mate
My personal choice would be the 9"(22cm)
What update is this program based on please gary
1.1 or 20 Andrew
Ok cheers Gary I’ll have to update as only on 0.71
Gary I’ve been using prog 2 reactive 1.5 sensitivity 95 audio response up to 6 not complicating things on new plough and stubble getting plenty digs
Quarter hammered etc
Great feedback, glad those settings are working for you 🤝
Gary Audio @ 2
Audio filter @ 4
Is there an advantage using the filter @4
Cheers
Higher levels can make deep iron sound good.
Thanks for reply Gary @
Great concept program 👍👍👍
Hi gary thank you for this magnificent program, but I didn’t understand the discrimination we leave it at 6.8? Or 42?
42 discrimination in Full Tones, Silencer 0, High Square Audio.
Don't worry you will still find small targets
@@The-skillschool So the discrimination 6.8 I raise it to 42 🫡
@@The-skillschool Thank you Gary I tried your program, I enjoy it, it looks like I found my deus 1 😉🤝 thank you Gary.
Hello.
I am a beginner, so bear with me.
Do you think Tekkna will work in the forest?
I've been searching for videos on detecting in forest, but not that much to be found.
Cheers from Norway.
Thanks for watching, yes I think it will be perfect. If conditions allow you may want to lower the reactivity for a little more depth.
@metal_detecting
Thanks for the feedback.
The ground is dry and has light brown soil. I don't know if that info makes a difference.
I will try it tomorrow🙂 I'm going to try it in an area where I already found a couple of silver [1696 and 1780].
I have used the Deep HC program, so I am curious to see if Tekkna will revel som NF among some Iron spots I have skipped.
tried downloading was2 but wouldn't have it yet remote did ill have to trt again
1.1 is fine, use the single lead for updating the headphones.
Great informative video 👍 I’ve been using offset at 15 for a while & works great on Roman sites however the discrim so high took me by surprise & will definitely be giving that a try Thanks again Gary & Paul for sharing
Thanks Dave
Good luck 👍
Best of luck Dave. Look forward to your feed back mate.
Interesting Gary thanks, have been hearing alot about guys using high disc ,have you moved it around and 42 is the best ?
Best for me, you.may find different but I think 42 is the sweet spot.
@@The-skillschool thanks Gary
Your videos are always informative thanks for sharing
Glad you like them!
Gary, what are your thoughts on depth using sens full tones? Do you think it compares to park or deep HC in that department?
It really depends on the ground and targets.
Tried this program today! Any advice for all the chattering? Im sure its emi or could be the mineralization in the ground
Thank you.
Let's try
All the best 🤝
i really dig your vids, but why the disturbing supermarket-music in the background?
Because I chose it to be there.
Wow, this is radical compared to past programs. I’m hoping this will be a killer around cellar holes and foundations. Thanks Gary, awesome stuff as usual !
I hope it works for you...Good luck !
Gary, I'm having a discussion about this program with a friend, and a question arose that I hope you can answer with authority... what is the difference between discrimination and notch, aside from the fact that notch makes no sound and has a start and end value? Why do we have both?
Discrimination rejects everything below the set value.
Notch rejects a window so everything above and below the window is accepted.
@trolltaker disc has an iron tone with it, notch does not.
They are different functions.
Great video, i want a Dues 2 now :)
Go for it
It's a great program. Easy to understand 👍🏻
Thank you michael
