So there's an interview that the latest James Bond actor, Daniel Craig, made about how the Austin Powers movie made writing Bond movies harder because everything Bond would do had already been made fun of in the Austin Powers movie.

Do not mansplain unless you're a woman LOL... Masplain is such a bs word. lol I am a woman and the fact she doesn't know M. Caine's significant movies or even the James Bond ones. She doesn't have basic film knowledge. She's cute and that's it.

They're definitely spoofing the Connery films, as well. Content-wise, that's mostly what they're making of. The long decontamination sequence in Man of Mystery is a comedic version of the already long decontamination sequence in the first Bond movie ever, Dr. No.

It's fine. It's fun. I'd watch it again. But it does borrow a lot from the previous two movies, and admitting that you're doing it doesn't make it any less tiresome. Also some of the gags go on way too long.

One of Michael Caine movies “In Like Flint” was a major inspiration for this franchise, and references scenes directly from it. That’s why Myers wanted Caine to play Austin’s father, but also because Myers’s father was huge fan of Caine.
