It looked like she waited for a wave to carry it back to shore, so maybe being nice?
could have been dangerous with the oncoming break, the wave could have slammed it onto her head or ding her board. She did the right thing. Shortborder w/o a leash was asking for the swim workout, lol.

with an oncoming wave, either get hit in the head with the shortboard,, ding your own board and get buried -or- save yourself and toss the board and let it drift to the beach out of the surf zone. Shortboarders w/o leash is asking for something to happen.

Yah, you know… I see the young dudes carving it up. But watching Bella teaches me sh*t (and I’m not a surfer). I’m watching where she’s at on the rails at certain stages of the wave. I’m watching how she judges JUST. EXACTLY. WHEN she can move out to the nose. I’m watching her anticipate how the ride is going to play out and when to cut.
Sure. Watching the studs carve up a wave is fun.

looks like she didn't like the looks of a wave heading her way and decided to ditch the board.
Jeez long boarders always talk about surfing with aloha and then when a short boarder bails out of a wave to avoid hitting a girl that dropped in on their wave, she just throws the board and there’s no aloha to give. To most long boarders, it’s only aloha if they are the ones benefiting. They never give it, they only take it and this is a prime example.

@@upcomingbs That would have been the smart thing to do, her safety first. She did return the board to the owner but she didn't have to. You on the other hand should not comment on the internet calling anyone born and raised in Hawaii hoale... it's actually spelled haole so I know you're not local. Please be respectful
