Kaya Waldman Surfs Haleiwa (Jan 31, 2024) 8K HDR

Surfline forecasted a short period 8-12ft WNW-NW swell for this day which was set to drop to 6-8ft by that evening. Pipeline was really beautiful during the morning hours until the wind started chopping it up. Sunset was a complete mess with that swell direction but Haleiwa was fun all day even when the wind seemed to blow it out and it started cleaning up later that evening too. Kaya Waldman, a big wave surfer competing in the Women's Red Bull Magnitude surf contest this season, turned out to be available so we went to Haleiwa to check it out. Beautiful video, I tried surfing once when I was in my early 20's in a Florida town called St. Augustine there was some pretty big waves coming in because of a Hurricane approaching i think 2 days before and I was trying and trying and finally got the hang of it when I was hit dead center in the back by two massive pallets nailed together and with nails exposed and needless to say i was injured pretty bad, never got back out on the waves since. Your videos are really relaxing and they almost make me want to take a vacation there just see if I can conquer that fear, i know this sounds quite silly
