    I love it when people are so obsessed with a character that they make cool projects like this dedicated to them like you 😂 Thanks for showing the process and programs, I think I wanna make such a coin myself one day. You did a great job on creating the coins do don't put yourself down over minor detail errors - they look amazing, I would've thought of them as actual official merch!

    Ah, finally. My 'Jabba the Hutt, Crime Lord' coin, is here.
    (I saw that thumbnail randomly and, without the proper context.. it became funnier and funnier the longer I looked at it)

    The banding may be caused if the model wasn't printed completely vertical or the face completely flat. It causes lines to appear when the next row of pixels is used

      @MightyJabbasCollection  3 года назад +2

      Hmm, now that you mention it, it is possible that previous versions I printed were slightly off vertical, and that I unknowingly corrected that as I was reworking the sculpt

    I'm ecstatic to know that you name your files the same way I do. I thought I was alone all these years labeling files "FINAL For Real"...

    Wow, you're really getting your money's worth out of that Desert Octopus sculpt. Looks great, good job man!

      Yes the Desert Octopus scan has been a real godsend. Which of course was the reason I wanted it made in the first place, but it’s surprised even me with its versatility

    This was a neat project idea. There's something satisfying about creating something that feels like it should've been created.

    i have been doing something like this recently with text, and what i have been doing is making the text in say ms paint and then importing that into inkscape and converting it into an svg file and then using a different website to convert that svg file into an stl and it has worked out pretty good so far

    Nice job! You did make a damn good jabba coin. Wonder how it would look with a black wash over it. And also in a bronzish gold might make it interesting.

    • @MightyJabbasCollection
      @MightyJabbasCollection  3 года назад

      I did actually experiment with a black wash, but it kind of just made the coin look muddy and also almost completely removed the metallic shine so I gave up on it

    The one with the closely spaced lines gives an interesting background effect to the coin. Kinda like it.

    Those lines in the Jabba coin at 13:45 may not be intentional, but they could be seen as part of a background design of the coin behind the figure if seen for the first time by someone new to the coins.

    I'm trying to make a double sided coin myself but my Anycubic Mono X isn't working the best. I wish I can make the coin stay in shape because there's always a problem every time I try it. I'm using washable clear resin, don't know if that effects it

    Love the coin and gives me some ideas to create my own. Are you able to tell me which fonts you used for the text - it looks pretty spot on.

    • @MightyJabbasCollection
      @MightyJabbasCollection  Год назад

      I don’t actually remember but I think it was just a font I already had on my computer, so nothing too exotic

    Looks great. Do you see any tarnishing with handling? Or did you put a clear coat?

    • @MightyJabbasCollection
      @MightyJabbasCollection  3 года назад +1

      They probably will get duller if you handle them a lot. I didn’t put a clear coat on them since I find that itself can dull the metallic shine, but it might be worth trying
