I loved this phone back in 2010. It was a little rough around the edges but it had a fantastic design, a trackball that doubled as a notification led, it was the first phone I ever bought that I felt didn't have many compromises, especially since I bought it for $530 unlocked.

  • @sneeks71

The Nexus One was one of my favorite phones ever. I actually used the trackball quite a bit (great for one hand operation). It just had a good feel and build quality. @TB, thanks for bringing back the good memories.

I loved my Nexus One, it was one of my favorite phones of all times. Before then I used Windows Mobile phones in Cingular aka AT&T like the 8125 and the 8525. After that purchase I've been Android and never looked back.

I was part of phone support that was organized for the Nexus One. One of the cool things was that we got to play with final versions of the phone and check out the accessories, and each member of the team were supposed to get one. But that never happened and we all got understandably grumpy heh. The timing is interesting here because just yesterday I came across pictures and sample photos/videos I took with one of the in-house phones. Playing with the then AMAZING filters and all that, haha. I had VERY much intended on being a part of that leak, but I valued my job more than breaking the NDA to release a few pictures on something so close to release.

This reminded me of my first android device from 5 yrs ago, the Samsung Galaxy Y. To me it meant a lot back then, it was my move to android. I used it as my main, a few months ago since my S3 broke, and let me tell you, I learned how to live without a phone. Tech has come a long way.

Man I remember the OG Nexus 1. I was one of the 1st people in my area to own one. Was definitely the coolest kid on the block because of that phone lol. I remember going to the stores looking for a case and people would be like what the heck is that? It was soooo futuristic, sleek and awesome and I had dibs on it lol. Definitely made me feel good to have owned such technology. Thanks for this video John.

Two of these just popped up from an old box with gadgets. I forgot how practical they were. Look at it! Gorgeous round lines, no huge "happy to see you" rectangle in your jeans. Built inside a study aluminium frame. The back is removable and ... get this! Are you sitting down? It's NOT made of glass! Genius. Hard-case removable battery! And they even managed to squeeze in an Audio Jack! I KNOW! WTF HOW! That was 2010 people. I want a reboot for this phone as it does everything I can possibly want on the road.

Still using the nexus 0ne since it was launched!, still going strong and its never failed once, only had one change of battery
bought the pixel c tablet a few weeks ago which is kinda cool as pixel brand is the new nexus, holding on to see if there is going to be a pixel 7 inch.

I had the original HTC Desire, the "non-Nexus" version of this phone. It was my first Android device and I loved it. There wasn't much space for apps, since Android used to use nonsensical separate partitions, but outside of that it was a great device.

Bought this, when they first came out. Had enough of Apple and the iPhone. I dug up my Nexus One, today, and plugged it in to charge. It's alive! Then I did a search on it, and up came this vid! Used to carry around a spare battery for the thing, cuz the runtime was pretty short. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, as there's pretty much nothing that'll run.

Nexus one My first smart love! I gave it away two years ago and although it stopped working I still regret letting it go! I love you Nexie, I so much do! I hope you'll someday forgive me for giving you away!
