I'm a retired and live in rural England but every evening, thanks to Paulie, I walk the streets of New York City ! Another fantastic video. Thanks guys
@@waynethorn7218 But not street photos - unless you have endless time. Street is a numbers game and the numbers don't work outside of big cities, sadly.
Cheers for this different perspective of nyc…. Keep shooting the Burroughs we don’t see … love that work Tyler … I end up seeing different things and magic without the human presence
I felt that when he was talking about being so captivated by certain moments that you forget there’s a camera in your hands lol. But those are some of the best moments when you just get to experience some things with your eyes and not through a lens!
Really enjoyed this one! Love how honest Tyler was about his process and struggles and theories. Great to see someone so transparent about all that stuff!
Great interview and another artist to follow on insta! Thanks for sharing your story Tyler and your approach. You are correct about not letting fear stop you. What's worse...your fear or going home with nothing? Love it!
Great video Paulie. And it was nice hear the constant staccato of four letter words that some of your guest provide. Also, it was nice to see another Eggleston fan.
I feel the relationship between skaters and street photographers is, both learn to see the world as an opportunity to artistically express yourself instead of just the path to your destination.
I took a lot of photo classes in collage in 2010-2012ish and lived in NY taking street pictures was the most alive I ever felt and some of my best images to this day. Watching this series makes me miss taking pictures and makes me wanna get back out on the street!
Ventura! I grew up there. Heh. Good change of pace from busy life when I visit family, but yeah. Small. Big skater culture there since I was a kid. I knew a serious innovator who are totally unsung.
This was a fun one. Tyler’s personality is fun and genuine and really felt him when he said he gets lost in the moment and forgets to take a picture. I do the same.
Another great episode, thanks so much! As regards the skating/ photography topic - I never was (much of) a skateboarder but it strikes me that both look at their surroundings as a playground and will use whatever they see to have fun with it, whether it be steps, fences, railings, benches or what have you. So both experience a total awareness of the present moment which is just the best feeling there is. Well, just about, anyway.
thank you for making this content and opening up a world that has a gate kept facade !! Theres 2 amazing photographers/videographers jolee falcone and john somerville -nyc based that have been capturing the city/brookyln/queens for 10+ years now i think youd get a kick outta them- incredibly down to earth and many hilarious tales
13:00 Yep, that's how it all starts. I come from a BMX background and that's how I got into filming and shooting photos. Been goin since 2014 and we still climbing!
Love these videos! Just found your channel today and it super rad to see these different photographers and their style of shooting. Also cool hearing their perspective on how they process their thinking while shooting photos. A lot of it is very relatable.
Awesome content as usual. I enjoy your interaction with your photographer guests cause it allows me to see into their thought processes as they look for a subject to shoot. Btw, this guy is more of a New Yorker than many born and bred NYers. He even walks fast like a NYer😂
I love how mellow and easy going Tyler is. It’s obvious he’s just having fun and not worrying too much about it or what he gets at the end of the day. And Im curious if that rental shop was Dexters..?
Watching these I am so jealous of Americans. I live in Germany and people treat cameras like handguns. In the US people seem actually happy to be photographed
Paulie B I know you ask them the question what gear are you using but often they don't tell you all, yes we know most are using a Leica but for eg Tyler didn't say which Leica (M2?) more importantly which lens 28mm /24mm ? Try and nail them to their gear, thanks.

I'm English and I live in Poland, and every night I'm walking around New York with Paulie, its the last thing I watch before bed! I love it!
You can also get great photos of rural England, beautiful infact 👍

Tyler: “l love the whole process, developing my own film, using my hands…”
Paulie: “you like scanning?”
Tyler: “No”
😂 I can relate.

Liking this video before I even watch it. You gotta keep these gems coming PB!

Great video Paulie. And it was nice hear the constant staccato of four letter words that some of your guest provide. Also, it was nice to see another Eggleston fan.
should have said "And it was nice not to hear the constant staccato"...
Good interview. Very interesting. Tyler has a good attitude about this whole thing.

Tyler seems like the man! Chris Pratt vibes. Great episode as per usual - I've been getting caught up slowly.
