“Walkie Talkie” is hands down the best street photography series on RUclips. Thank you for this insightful content - I appreciate you introducing me to all these great guests.
Videos has inspired me to become a photographer, I feel like anybody can have the vision. Just get a camera and that’s a step one for me
Yes I agree !
So dope! Paul B
truth
"The phone is dumbing my brain, you know what I mean?" Bro, we're all fighting it fr
Very inspiring and thanks to Andre for sharing his views.
Big Boss Andre showing us how it’s done.
We need the 45 min version!!
please never stop making these. love hearing these talented folks speak and shoot away. these are important! thank you
FACTS 💯💯💯
4:30 "what you wan't is on the other side of fear" bro... if this ain't the truth. I struggle a lot with street photography and this episode is helping me.
Amen to Andre’s comments about the phone!! I feel the same way. Put the phone down especially when you’re outside walking. All the mindless scrolling. So very true!! 🙏🏾
The way this man just pulls up, snaps, and comes out with beautiful human moments is amazing. He's got perfect instincts.
Really, really, really appreciate you for this one Paulie. It’s so hard for Black photographers to get love & shine on their work. Been a huge fan of Dre’s work for several years now and even got to shoot his portrait when I came to NYC in 2018. Keep doing your thing Paulie! Happy New Year, see you on the other side! 🎉
This video brought back so many memories for me as they were walking through Bushwick on Broadway Ave. I use to live next door to Andre on Gates Ave 7 years ago but didn't; realize it until I was moving and leaving NY. I use to see him walking the streets all the time with a camera around his neck and I went to one of his exhibits, where I met him, but right before I was about to move from Bushwick, I was coming home and he was sitting on his front stoop right next door from me. I loved Bushwick and he captures it well. I'm a photographer too so it would have been cool to have gotten to know him better while we lived next door to each other. This was really nice to watch. His work is amazing!
Hell yes. Love his work. Really connected with what he said about social media and your phone. So damn true.
Sooo true! I've asked my 12 year old granddaughter to watch this. I hope that she does and that his message(s) resonate with her. When she would visit me for the summer, I would only let her have an hour a day on the phone and she didn't mind because she was busy being exposed to many other things; that was deep how he put it! I even got a chance to take her to NYC to see Frozen on Broadway so her heart should remember this entire education. I absolutely loved everything about this series...fantastic!!!
I dropped my phone when I saw Andre Wagner! Liked before even watching👍🏾💯👌🏾
drop that extended cut too!
Not just his work; his photographic intelligence! I was completely wowed.
Wow. I don’t know what rock I was living under but I did not know Andre Wagner and I am now embarrassed. His work is spectacular, and you sir are doing angels’ work bringing out these icons to your channel. I can’t thank you enough.
“Making photographs on your own terms, that’s the dream” ❤️‼️💯
“Always right now” is absolutely perfect. I have missed so many waiting for next time. Peace and good light my friends.
I'm just getting into photography, started an online class a week ago to begin learning the basics. stumbling across this channel and hearing all these photographers' philosophies has really inspired me on another level.
Andre just might be my favorite photographer working today. I love that passion and excitement that he brings with him and his work is always at the top level.
And that lady asking him to open her water was the cutest thing I’ve seen in weeks.
This is great. The book recommendations, watching him shoot. His warmth and empathy really come through.
without question my favorite episode. love how he photographed black life. a true contemporary great
WHAT A GREAT MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER HE IS!! This is the next Gordon Parks!
“It’s always right now” ❤
I could listen to Andre for hours
Andre has such a connection to his environment, you can see it thru out the video and its to the point that no one bats an eye when he photographs them.
I just watched Andre speak with Jamel Shabazz at the opening of his Gordon Parks Fellowship exhibition and then to see this on here.. wow. Heavily inspired. Wow. Timing.
Really really, really like Andre's photos! Great episode Paulie.
This is my favorite one so far... Andre, you're the man.
It's great to see Andre D. Wagner on RUclips talking about his work and in action.
Extended Version would be AMAZING.
Photography of place over a decade, I love that and being able to look back and see how you took it say 10 years ago. It's not all about people walking into a shaft of light , although that's nice and I do like it and ive done it myself its not all there is on the street.
goddamn this was a great episode. i 100% understand why MacAndre would watch this over n' over. this dude seems to truly embody realness. to understand how special an opportunity is to shoot on set BTS stuff... but not losing the ability to recognize, and acknowledge, how street photography is what his soul needs? like. that's what's up.
incredible
"Life is always right now"
let that line alone stick to us everydayuj
ITS ALWAYS RIGHT NOW! great message!
Procrastination is my worst habit. “It’s always right now”. Going to keep that in mind.
I really hope that this channel blows up so that you get to make walkie talkies with photographer all around the world. Love your work, keep it up
so good. we need that extended cut asap.
Thanks for having Andre on. Such a nice guy. Great body of work emerged from his perspective on the street. Good questions -- Andre's responses made me think.
Haven't even watched it yet and I already know it'll be a classic.
Andre is so cool and real. Wishing him great success with his photography.
“You need a little bit of seriousness to it. It can’t be all like, ‘oh we kickin’ it, having beers, like, photography is so fun!’” Definitely feel this way with a bunch of people on Instagram, they only do it for fun. I started doing it for fun but I just got back from a trip to Mexico with my family and I am astounded by how serious I was while taking some photos. There came a time in the three years that I’ve been shooting film that I stopped looking at my photos as just photos and it started to become my work. Work that I love and that I’m constantly trying to do more of. Being in the moment is definitely something to bask in. His mantra is super true. I missed a beautiful photo of my dad in Mexico because I waited too long and the moment passed me.
Been doing street seriously for about a year now, but I have to say that I’m tired of people on their phones everywhere, I feel like documenting zombies, but anyway, love this series it’s the best ! Keep them coming, thanks !
I haven’t even pressed play yet but I already know this will be GREAT. I LOVE Andre’s work. Thank you Paulie for this series!
Always appreciate his work so much, and his thoughts on not only the process, but life as well 🙏🏽 Extended cut please
awesome interview! thank you for the work you put into these videos.
one of the best from my generation! love his outlook on life and photography.
What really touched me about this Walkie Talkie is about how you represent yourself trhow photography cause sometimes you´re trying to copy someone you like and in this process you loose what you´re trying to portrait with your work. Always remember who you are because street photography is no more than how you see the world that surounds you
Andre’s work is amazing! One of my favorite photographers
Andre was one of the first guys I started following on Instagram when I got into street photography two years ago. Seeing and hearing what he has to say in this video was so dope. I like him even more now.
Love u too paulie ❤️
Honestly my favourite show in RUclips. Thank you for doing these.
This man is really gifted. Great eye, great presence. Love his photos. Thank you making yet another wonderful video, Paulie B 🌞
I agree! These videos are the greatest. It's hysterical I am in the city all the time and never noticed anyone taking photos until I watched these videos. Now I catch all these random street photographers. Paulie you must be super stealth since I never see you! Thanks for the content !
Loved this episode. That 'It's Always Right Now' mantra is definitely something I'm gonna try to implement!
Beautiful work by Dre. A lot of folks from NYC feel very protective of our authenticity. He definitely portrays that beautifully. Also, this channel is extremely underrated. Deserves way more followers.
Loving the walkie talkies,,, His images are class , based on the people within the city, it's people first in this man's community.
Thank you for all the wisdom Andre! Lots of gems
This is my 2nd or 3rd time watching this. Very inspiring photographer!
This man is so very wise. Another great video Paulie, thanks for giving this to the world.
These videos are so edifying. I love the work of Mr. Andre Wagner.
One of my favorites of this series.
I love how he mentions reading Stolen Focus -- I read that earlier this year. Complete game changer for me!! Highly recommended!
You're doing a great service with this series, Paulie. I appreciate you.
Extended cut for sure. Never knew about Andres work until I saw this. What a gem
Your channel recently came up in my RUclips recommended and I’ve got to say man i’ve pretty much been binging the whole series since. The amount of knowledge being dropped in these videos and the format of them is a breathe of fresh air. Keep doing what you’re doing
Eladio Carrion it´s killing it with the pictures
Andre is just mindfulness personified - amazing!
Yooooo one of my favo photographers ever, such a cool guy with a great mind and eye
Thank you! Simple and short. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Paulie B always delivers. Thanks for this one, got a lot to take away.
So many things I like about this. His energy is dope. It takes balls to just snap randoms. At least he has a small, inconspicuous film camera. My Canon is a monster and you can definitely tell when I'm taking a picture 🤣. He definitely has passion. I respect that.
Such a huge inspiration , lovely to hear his perspective and his passion come through. Thank you to the both of you.
love love, thanks to you both
Wicked talent, amazing . Thanks for giving us the privilege to watch him shoot
thanks Paulie and Andre. I had a good time watching you talk and walk.
This was a master class in an artistic mentality! So much truth! I needed to hear it.
Great. I Love Andre's work. It resonates.
Best episode yet! So many great insights and gorgeous images from Andre. Congrats on this, and thanks for sharing it with us.
This man is gifted in many ways! Great work Paulie! This format really works :)
What a soul!
I really appreciate that you get people from your community to speak about their experience this is very helpful to further understand the artist's vision and how they see the world through photography. Dre is a phenomenal photographer we all know that but I really appreciate this video because you get to see his raw side when he's in the moment thank you for sharing cheers.
The goat 🐐 so inspiring! Thanks for this video and keep up the series! Love to watch all of them 😊
I'll love to see the full clip. Excellent interview with Andre, and just to tell you how much I love your "Walkie Talkie" videos. Merry x-mas and a Happy new year. So long, hi from Bogota, Colombia.
The episode I didn't know I was waiting for
Living legend! ❤
Way to end the year, Paulie! More videos and great photos in 2023!
Love this brotha! Always a positive and inspiring perspective!
Discovered this series on 25th December and been watching non stop Best Christmas present ever! Love Love
Thanks for share those street things with us! Appreciate the works street photographers looking for and create a very great guide for our young man.
Another great one. These are like a crash course in how to, if you were able to chill with one of these guys for an afternoon
Man. This is already legendary. One of my favourite photographers. Endless inspiration in everything Andre does and how it approaches our craft. Picking up my camera and heading out NOW
Thank you so much for doing this series. I've picked up priceless lessons from this video especially. Andre is such a beautiful person.
Love his work
Absolute quality…love his insight and honesty
Beautiful! Love the composition, Andre. B&W is the only way to go in street photography IMO.
PAULIE B TAPPED IN WITH THE PEOPLE!! 🎉🎉 this is dope
Dialogue with Solitude is outstanding and one of my favorites
It's part of Multitude/Solitude which is what I have
Great to put a voice to the images. I’ve been following his work for years now.
He kicked so much knowledge. Amazing video. Thank you both.
I’ve been following this man for a long time and I too shoot right in this area. Crazy crazy.
this is so cool - him just walking and talking and making great stuff
