Agri Spray Drones - Trailer Setup

- We get asked frequently about what truck and trailer setup is needed to operate a sprayer drone. There isn’t a one size fits all solution when it comes to setups. Some factors to consider are: What carrying capacity for water/chemical is needed? Are you landing on a trailer or the ground? If you have a trailer, can you get into the operation area? How do you plan to transport the drone from field to field?
In this video, we give you an inside look at our custom application trailer setup and cover some elements to consider.
If you are an Agri Spray Drones customer you can access a full list of items we used in our setup and links to the supplies in the customer resource folder. Document is named “Field Ops Supplies List.” Наука
Pure genius!! Landing platform, viewing platform, shade, supplies, recharging, maintenance shed, and mobile. Access is everything, and that is why drones are perfect for most situations.
Kudos to you for your innovation on that rig. Your explanations of how the system works and why you did what you did are very well done. Many here have pointed out the lack of safety rails and other issues, but you said this is a work-in-progress and you are improving it as you go. I look forward to seeing another video when you have the final version worked out.
Great video and setup 👌 you should place a collapsible railing for the operator or pilots .
Great set up, getting an important job done well. Always room for improvement. Kiwi
I’d love to see how he started his business, how he acquired customers. This is right up my alley to start my own spraying business
What a set up!! greetings from Ecuador, gonna try it!
parabens!!. estou começando nesse negocio agora e esse vídeo me ajudou bastante. sucesso pra vocês
Really cool
Hello from Phoenix, Arizona! I’ve been following you guys I just think it’s the coolest thing what you’ve done. You should refine that set up and start selling it or maybe selling a kit where people can piece it together on their own truck. That is so cool. The umbrella is so important, especially out here in the desert but even where you’re at the sun it’s just a killer. maybe get a generator box that keeps it quieter. That might be one thing you might consider there are some boxes specifically made for generators to keep them quiet. Anyway, thank you for sharing the videos. I’m just fascinated I do have my part 107 and I am a private pilot but I just have a DJI air 2S right now. Take care.

Your setup is absolutely brilliant ... BECUASE ... I was also thinking of a similar setup. Brilliant minds think alike !!!! CHEERS
"Operator fatigue" come on ... LOL 💪
Amazing setup
If you can share with me the experience of pairing T30 type drones and their working experience? Also what type of generators would you recommend as a replacement for the DJI D9000i so I can charge the t30 drone batteries?
😲 Here in Denmark, our inspectors would go crazy if they saw a platform at that height without railings for support and safety 😁🇩🇰🇩🇰
Unfortunately here in the USA OSHA would go just as crazy.
Same in the US 😬
In Australia you'd get shut down.
@@racecrashrepeat well In parts of Australia you would get imprisonment just for going outside at one point so that’s no surprise to any Americans lol.
Same in Australia work safe would have someone locked up for that lol
I would think you could also graph the field itself then automate the flight portion factoring battery, wind, spray quantity, etc. biggest hurdle seems to be the autoMation of battery swap, etc. maybe there is liability issues with that approach too, no idea.
Amazing setup, Cheers
Yes it's
nice set up -some zog steel or aluminum framing would make it tidy and stronger for that unforeseen traffic crash
Beautiful
Gotta love how confident you are in your country. In Mexico you would never have a DJI Agri visible, usually they are transported in vans with zero information anywhere in them.
Because of theft?
@@AlexofAddison Probably because they don't want the feds to know where their pot field is located.
@@AlexofAddison yes. There is a big black market of stolen agricultural drones.
@@FrancoCastro How? Use them to transport drugs? I don't get why they steal those drones..
@@FrancoCastro Hello from Jalisco MX. Franco they are transporting it between private ranches not on the highway... Same way we do it here. Trust me that in most of the USA you would not leave equipment out in the open... not even Washington DC or New York. They would be gone far FAR faster than aqui no? As for a "big black market" I would like their number please jajaja but seriously most of the drones on the black market here are tourist drones the guides collect from hot spots like coins in a fountain... there just arent that many agg class drones around yet and their network dependant nature makes them difficult to use even if you can steal them ;)
Would a used open top bus make a better platform or is the point to be compact?
Nice setup. Where did you get the hose reel from? I'm having trouble finding an adequate one.
Awesome
Amazing, on version 2.0 it'd be interesting if the platform was on jacks where you could always get it more level as you're probably always going to be parked partly on slope as even the gravel/dirt roads have 4% crowns.
whats the advantage of this over traditional dusting?
Have you looked at the drone with a mini gas motor in that generates electricity or is refilling the spray chemicals every 2 or 3 minutes an issue?
A question how do you make a fill thru port?
awesome stuff
I am a part 107 pilot and was thinking you could make a killing in Louisiana where I am from. Plus you have me as a operator. What certificate does one need to fly that drone? Lots of fields around Shreveport. My brother is also a 107 in Mississippi.
So correct me of im wrong but did you say you have to refill the tank and change the battery every 3 minutes?
How much flow do they apply per acre?
Awesome setup, really cool idea for flat crops. here's the osha's ....applying airborne chemicals and loading them in tank without proper protection its not very healthy for your operators. you all need nitrile gloves, suits and masks and googles, no matter what product you are applying.
It's fungicide, it's not that harmful, hence why we aren't afraid of throwing in the air via aerial applications, rarely do I see planes, helicopters or drones applying herbicides.
Hey guys, clean work we can only dream of here. There are currently few providers in Germany. How much does the drone cost you in the USA? Kind regards Norman
So it's 6 mins per pass?
Run two cables down the middle of the deck, secured at both ends. Pilots wear harnesses and stay clipped in anytime their on the platform. Fall restraint that keeps them from getting to the edge. Your bridge should be the sam with as the deck. Edges should be painted yellow. “Practicing safe gets old but so do those who do it!”
Top 😄👍🇨🇭
If you could share with me what type of service you offer to farmers?
Can you spray sweet corn fields for the ear worm ? Kallstrom Sweet Corn , Ephrata Wa.
In Australia you will be breaking the working at heights rules with no fall prevention. I think this is a law suit waiting to happen if someone falls and sufferers injuries. Otherwise a good setup.
How many Batteries Do you use?
What are the better brands from your point of view ? Only dji ? Greetings from Argentina 👋🇦🇷
The farm so big it easy to fly
You should consider Autonodyne company for multiple drones swarm one pilot ..
Are both of those tanks full of hot mix or just one and the other is water? Do you need to keep the mix agitated in the bulk tank and if you do, how do you do that?
No
If you can write me what you recommend, for example in the case of wheat and corn fields, how many liters of solution is recommended to be used when treating with herbicide?
What is the optimal height from the plant? flight speed? Distance between runways?
Would this recommendation be ideal for treating a given crop at different stages of plant growth?
Also in the case of pesticides and fungicides?
👀
Fst👀
How do you land your drone on truck? Manuel or automatic pilot? I hane a DJI agras T10 and when landing with automatic pilot, it sometimes lands 1 meter left or right side. So when you are at top of truck will it not be risk? Your drone may be drop to ground from truck when automatic landing.
👎
Very nice. Love the setup and I guess I would love the job too.
Did you ever do some spray coverage assessing with water sensitive paper on 2 GPA? How about less than 2 GPA? And how high can you go on GPA and still do an efficient job, say, still make some money and cover some area?
Thanks in advance
Take back your advance thanks, he never answered you.
@@torsten6777 haha. I guess you are right
I remember my first Job
Taylor, great operation, However, 2 questions: Your team work on an elevated platform. Why do you not have guard rails around them to negate the guys falling off? And, when operating 2 drones, do they have the ability to talk to each other so they can keep separation, say 50 feet?
I thought the same about railing. They better hope OSHA doesn't show up.
🖖✌️👎 🙉
Which generator are you guys using to be able to charge 2 batteries at the same time, ?
🤳✍️ ins
The used battery still needs to be transported back uphill. So how can it be less taxing?
They just pull the battery out when refilling the tank and swap it out. They carry it back to where they are sitting, and plug it into the charger. No uphill in this setup. Just carry it like 20 feet. Plus the battery is only like 22 lbs. Not that heavy.
@@bigman55434 I think it was probably the 1st video, that the owner/manager did. While on the trailer. He noticed that the trailer was sloped downwards. So he stated the above comment, to fill the video with content and not to leave a blank pause.
Once this is 100% Automated and upsized abit it very well could take over the arial spray industry.
LMAO, stop it!
Not really... capacity is still way too small.
An unmanned plane has way more capacity than drone, they just look less cool
I would like to add, the current largest production ag plane carries 800 gallons and cost around $2 million. It is estimated for an unmanned aircraft that could do the same amount of work would cost over $36 million.
A one bushel drone can do 20 acres in a day of cover crop seeding. The 800 gallon airplane can do multiple thousands of acres. What the 800 can do in one load would take a drone 86 loads. So it would take 8600 one bushel drones to equal the capacity of 1 800 gallon aircraft. Then one must figure in speed. The 800 does 170mph, I’m betting the drone is under 30mph. So my math says it would take 48,733 drone to do the work of on 800 gallon airplane. My math is challengable, but I’m really close to fact.
👀
Hello, I would like to ask you a question, I hope you can help me. where can i get that type of lid like the one you use on your tank?
😅
Very interesting setup, but how do you ensure security issues?
What security issues????

No railing, why not try a scaffolding platform for safety and stability? Otherwise cool ops.
To all the safety police here. OSHA can only do something if these are employees. Business owners can put their life at risk all they want.
Tell me you don't know OSHA without telling me you dont know OSHA.
Still, he has all.sorts of other problems FAA, DOT, EPA...OSHA is the least of what's wrong here.
Well trailer
What fungicide is labeled for drones?
You mean for aerial applications?
@@FillyGman specifically GPA. Are they putting out 2gpa as labeled?
Why is the plywood on the platform so dirty?
An RV with a roof platform would be perfect for this. Have a toy hauler with an elevator door like car haulers have. Most big RV's have a good sized cummins generator too that is much quieter. Rooftop platform could also be enclosed and air conditioned.
I take it you have never walked on your RV roof. No way it is meant to survive this traffic or weight. Plus they are not level.

This is excellent! Looking to order my T30 now, if you would be happy to share I would be really interested to know how you charge your clients to spray? I am working on pricing now but would love some input.
gotta have the all permits for this bad boy

How many acres can you spray per day?
🤐
What does it cost for each decare
2 dollars
Can these drones do any night flying?

Hey Agrispray I’m liking your videos, may I ask about what you charge per acre, cause I’m doing drone spray service as well here in Mexico and am just wondering what the difference may be, I’m charging 15 dollars per hectare.. so yea just curious how does it compare to what your doing?? Good luck..
how many acres can you cover in a day?
@@fulldangle it differs very much depends on the field sizes but easily 100 and when great fields up to 240-280
Bient, what drone are you using? How many batteries do you have to have to spray a full day?
@@Millerguy Hey I’m using T30 with 3 batteries and 1 charger, but I had to bring some cooling around the batteries while charging other ways I was running issues of getting overheated and than it means stop for a while!!
How much is the difference in money between drohne and truck work per hektar?
Thanks for the answer.
Hi Guys, loving your set up. Are you spraying your own crops or are you commercially spraying your clients?
Do you think as time progresses and farmers realise the potential of drone tech, they will buy their own kit and ruin the trade for yourselves.
I'm in the South of England surrounded by farm crops. Thinking of setting up a spray business.
Regards. Nick
I can do 200-333 acres an hour with a midsized spray plane. How many drones and people would it take to equal that? Think about it.
@@bryanhauschild4376 Doesnt matter, depends on price per acre.
You dont need space for a plane to land and you dont need an certificated pilot.
@@jonasstahl9826 it does when some of these fungicides have a short window to apply them.
@@jonasstahl9826 vertical starting plane don't need the space. And honestly the road behind them in the video would do just fine as starting/landing zone.

Out of Matty and Connor - 20 quid on Connor falling off the platform first.
Fall Hazzard
Gotta get some railing bud. Boys be breaking a neck falling off that platform. I wouldn't even have posted it.
Increase safety and avoid OSHA & lawsuit problems by installing collapsible rails on the platform.
Or just sign a waiver
All cool stuff- just don't let OSHA see this. One of those kids fall off that platform with no railings - among 2-3 other things,- and u gonna be needing 9 million subs not 9 thousand to pay the fines.! Stay safe please🤠
Put some ramps on the platform, you don't want your employees to fall !
Never seen someone fall down a ramp? What about roofers? Should they get ramps too?
Good stuff, just make sure the kids are wearing safety glasses when handling chemicals 😢
osha inspector just had a stroke
Hey good vid. You should hire me! My youtube site is my resume!.... Ok ok I was kidding. But still good vid
Dude get a silenced generator
This video shows so many safety regulations violations it's mind blowing. Great concept and idea behind it but no regard for safety, even seeing the kid pouring chemicals into the tote without respirator, with solid roof just inches over his head is massive violation of chemical handling violation.
Should be wearing eye protection
This is so inefficient… what is the acreage per flight??…
Not really, you’re limiting passes in the field with a sprayer. Every time you drive a sprayer in there you’re running over crops in turn lowering yield
3 min per flight
everything looks very nice BUT in Europe nobody would let you work in this way! No trailers like these would be allowed on the roads, especially with any safety railings
@sloth
this is satire
Here in Québec your setup will be not accepted because you have no secutity fence, the plywood became very sliding because the product fall on and the brige look like a acrobat peice in a circus, and i see the color of the plywood find a way to stop droping product every where.Go in a welding shop and do someting better than that. Why you have 2 operator the dji agra 30t can be drive whit 1 controller?
OSHA is watching this just wondering where to start with the violations. Elevated platform with absolutely no railing, is the plywood just laying up there or secured? No chemical gloves or eye protection (Harbor Freight black vinyl gloves aren't chemical rated). Not to be Debbie downer, but this is a major safety setup. I fly a drone and love Agri drones, but you might want to reconsider this setup. Any platform over 4 feet needs a railing at least 42 inches tall. You are way above this. Good luck
wow you must be fun at parties
I’m sure at the party you are the one that says “Hold my beer and watch this!”

@$800/hr operating cost requiring charging $12/acre. The drones aren't fast, but the cost per acre is closer to ground rigs
If there is power lines close. I will tell You the drone would outsmart it.
Hello
I know most folks don't care about regulations, but there is so much wrong here.
I came here to read the crackpot health and safety officials comments.
This is by far the most negligent use of pesticides and drones I have ever seen.
I mean, fungicide is quite different than herbicide
