      @@2511jeremy Yeah gonna be honest. When the text said calibrating barometer by scanning the run way with a laser I knew it was BS. A barometer measures atmospheric pressure. My guess is they landed it manually and were embarrassed when they needed another go around. Oh and pretending its high tech for clicks.

      @@Pharozos It was a 200km flight, the absolute atmospheric pressure is different from where the plane lifted off. Consumer drones also use infrared laser height sensors to see how high they are off the ground so it's not even a weird concept.

Charles is a very good friend of mine. we had great fun times together flying and testing RC Planes and MFD products. we used to fly in groups long range FPV. and everyone used MFD products. those were fun times.       This video smells like BS in a lot of ways.
      you wanna tell me, they wouldn't even clear the landing site from dangerous poles and debris for a flight, as prestigeous as this one?
      they tested autoland on a big road with lights leaving just a couple of meters clearance?
      this seems like very good marketing, but not like actual truth.

      They are a bit reckless. But it appears there are enough bureaucratic gaps in China that allows people doing this. I’ve seen quite a few RUclipsr using abandoned or just not frequently used highway as runways.
      On the other hand, components cost are so low that if the plane crashes into one of the wind turbines, they won’t care.

    What have you done there you people....awesome!! You use the recommended RC set up? 18000 Mah only for 200km trip, that's we call efficiency !! Keep up the good work Charles you and your team! Oh something else, this laser finder is it going to be sold on your site?

      We used the setup in the video. BeiDou DTU is a good thing. We are trying to use it to send commands to the plane. We can send only 1 message in 60sec, but sometimes that's enough :)

      I think they used 30,000 mah. But that is still very good!
      Edit: NVM I think i misunderstood you, they only used 18,000 mah.! Amazing.

      They are using metric. It's 60Km/h i think? The flight time is 160 minutes to destination over 200Km flight).

    This was an amazing test 👍 I've been looking for the right platform for a few months that will track correctly. I will be buying this plane along with crossbow. Making that battery pack will be a treat though.

    This is beyond impressive. Crosswind landing on unprepared beach! They didnt even try to move the driftwood out of the way. Or maybe they put it there on purpose? Anyway, well done to the team

      Wrong, propeller powered planes are most efficient at an altitude of about 6-7km. Lower than this and it reduced fuel efficiency as the atmosphere is more dense and the plane has to push itself through it harder.

    I'm really grateful that Charles didn't sold the company!! I do feel really good Envy.. when I grow up I plan to do exactly as he have done!! he have a great product! I never have so far do any firmware update!! and all the products still work as they should! bullet proof products, grat company!!

    First off, well done MFD on achieving 200kms on their Crosswind.
    I too own one and it is capable of traveling further.

    This looks to be freaking amazing. I think i need to whip up something like this as well. Amazing with how much Crosswind the plane is able to land safely.

    A great step forward! Very impressive, and i cant imagine the possibilities with that kind of plane. Maybe delivering first aid kits to islands, antipoisons for rare bites, other medication that would be to slow by boat...

    Hi Some questions before I purchase the whole set:
    1) 2:29 in the Video, landing waypoint 1 & 2, what is the angle ( -8 to -9)??
    2) 4:05 in the video, if you lose the video signal, does UAV returns to Lunch??
    3) 1:31 in the video, Data transfer Unit. What is the difference with the GPS in the MFD Crosshair
    autopilot or the Pixhawk autopilot?
    4)
    A- Which one is better the Pixhawk flight controller or the Myflydream MFD Crosshair autopilot ???
    B - Is it true that the UAV returns to lunch if the telemetry ( video signal ) is lost for both the Pixhawk and the Myflydream MFD Crosshair autopilot ??. I am trying to build an UAV that can travel 40 miles in between two island with waypoints, but I am afraid that the UAV will not accomplish mission if lose the video signal ????

    Spectacular! All it takes is heart!
    The landing site was a mine field and the vehicle seemed to steer to one of a few soft spots , luck has it or does vehicle have vision ? Can flight control software be set up to use more use of rudder to make direction changes then aileron influenced bank turns ? I am developing a first ever light weight swept wing modular endurance air vehicle. The main wing and body will be set, but nose and tail section can be swapped out to infinity styles. The wing control surfaces we be direct drive torsion controlled , no horns and rods. I see opportunity for an affordable all in a box flight system. It has been elusive .

    One doubt : why don't you use the laser range finder to directly land instead of calibrating baro ?

    can you give us any voltages that relate to the Milliamp hours? Would be difficult to compare the power consumption if you can't calculate the power there.

    What a sad video! I have a Crosshair flight controller with the Lazer module for autonomous landing. In my view My Fly Dream is the top of the line long distance and autonomous system at a reasonable price. However...there have been no updates in years. It is as if the developer, Charles, just gave up on it. I would buy two or three more Crosshair, they are that good. But, what is the point of there are no promised updates? Does anyone know what is happening?
