I've loved most if not all of the GameNight videos, but I especially love those videos where the chemistry and joy are so palpable. Thanks for allowing us to be a part -- albeit vicariously.
I had to keep watching to see who burned up in the sun! I didn't know this was a deck-builder, otherwise I would've picked it up a long time ago. I saw one negative review and turned up my nose, but now that I see the game, I realize that my family and I would have fun with this one. Thanks everyone! Another excellent playthrough from my favorite youtube game group! Have a great weekend!
I believe the theming on why humans have zero speed and you keep them in your deck is that basically you're at a buffet night, but for vampires, and the more humans you eat, the more... encumbered you get, which gives some great imagery of an over-stuffed vampire waddling its way towards the castle as the blazing sun begins to rise!
@@boardgamegeek Haha no worries, I just really wanted to see someone lose out because of it... And Deborah almost did. Thanks for all the awesome playthroughs! Here's to another year full of them!
This was a great deal of fun. I thought all the different modifiers would make it slow and confusing, but people got into a rhythm quickly. This is a fun group too so that helps!
At 22:45, Dave says if there were no humans and fewer than 3 vampires (and he motions over the Hunt Track) then you would add a card to the Tavern. I believe the rule is if there are no vampires (player disks) at the tavern space on the board AND less than 3 cards in the face down stack at the tavern, then you add a card face down to the tavern stack.
At 12:25 Dave says you can use multiple parasols to move after the last turn. The rulebook says: "Parasol: You can play 1 turn after the last turn but without hunting. You can play only 1 extra turn, even if you have several Parasols." So, you can only ever get 1 extra move at the end of the game, only reason to collect multiple parasols would be to prevent other players from using them.
I thought that parasols let you have an extra turn at the end of the round. The specific part you’re quoting is the specifics for the end of the game so a player doesn’t save them up to take multiple turns at the end. I’m pretty sure you can use a single parasol at the end of every round to take a single turn with no hunting.
@@Sam-vk8xd I'd say the whole point of it being a parasol is that it protects you from the sun, which doesn't appear until the end of the game, not the end of each round.
Fun and funny episode - Loved the intro 🤣 Dave is awesome at explaining game play 😀 Ordered the game not long into the episode - Ty ty for a stellar show - Game Night rocks 😁 Also love the games artwork 😍
Always a great time hanging with the GameNight! Players 🎭🎲. Congrats (🤔) to Deborah for attaining immortality and the best mode of transportation around, "BAT!" 💨🦇
Looking forward to playing this tonight, on Halloween! Nicki and Link, we've played this before. Dave, this is my first time playing this game. Link, thanks for teaching us this game, Dave. Lol
Loved the thumbnail, the intro, and the callouts to WWDITS. Needed more callouts to The Hunger (excellent film and novel), but that's alright... The game looks good too.
I played this yesterday, but only with two players, which wasn't so much fun as it is probably with more players. A little correction: You only can not hunt humans in the cemetery, powers and familiars are perfectly fine. I didn't watch the whole video, so perhaps this is mentioned later.
Just found this game in clearance and bought it for $20. I didn't know anything about it so watched this video to see, should I keep or return. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks.
Great game and play through. Only gripe I have is that our board is laminated gloss and we can’t see the board properly. Really takes the fun out of playing. Can’t understand who thought it was a good idea to make the board glossy!😢
Boy look at that art! I play Keyforge and the art is right up there. Also reminds me of Arcane. I still dig deckbuilders so this might be up my alley. EDIT: Finished the video and it feels like a version of Clank! but with the bonus missions and perma cards and other things make it feel more complex in the way you can play.
@@Ghostgamer84 More simple? Really? I read a review that pointed out how there's more stuff to keep track of during the game, in terms of scoring and what not. remember to refill the tavern cards was one here. But if it's just as simple, then I think my group would go for it as we've played Clank! several times. Thanks!
well if you stop and collect a lot of missions there is more to add up at the end but even then there just isn’t a lot of meat to the game. It reminds me of Jamaica mixed with Clank. It’s ok but pretty simple imo
If you play with the side where the first 3 spaces after the cemetery have -20 points...is that points removed from the bottom? Same with the well, it has like -20. Not sure what those are
Good video. Im not quite getting this game as the theme of vampires seems a little off particularly when they keep referring to "buying" humans. I never got the impression of vampire shenanigans more of a push your luck sort of Clank-like race. Anyway always nice to see a new video
Great playthrough as usual. I am getting this game once it is available in my local game store. 1:21:15 Didn't Nicky draw the 'confused' card? That should push her 4 spots further from the castle? Not that it matters, I think she would still be the first to arrive at the castle.
Big fan of Deborah. I know she’s been on many episodes but I am curious as to how she became involved with GN and/or BGG. Nikky… that hair is intense today. Your poor brain must be fully tie-dyed by now.❤️
Lincon, I want to remember that you are fan of stock market games, in a video from long long ago I remember you talked about a game called Speculation. There is a new game on the subject that is just released. Bear Raid, and in this game you can actually short stocks! I dont think any other game have ever toyed with this concept. Would love to see you guys try it out on the channel some time! :)
OK, i like your group and your videos and all but now seriously Lincoln - why is Dave not making the outros anymore? His chaotic approach was always the sweet topping on an already delicious cake! Don't get me wrong - your rushing through it like the house is on fire has also some comedic value, but Dave is on another level... 😉
@@boardgamegeek Well, they could still factor the whole path thing into the space numbers, but it's good to hear it's not as much of an issue as I thought. Thanks for the playthrough!
Deborah is extremely beautiful, and she is very nice! I think she is a brilliant person in all senses, inside (mind) and outside (body). She reminds me my wife, for example, my board games partner. She also has a lot of patience with me and with my rare disease, informing herself and participating in medical forums to seek advice with the target to help me and I can improve my quality of life. That high degree of understanding is very difficult to find in this world of selfishness (egos and so...) in which we live. When you make "sacrifices" (well, aren´t "sacrifices", exactly...) for your partner is when you show what is goodness of the human being, and love, which is the most important thing in life, after all. The beginning of this video is very, very funny: make me laugh and I loved it! You´re awesome, not only because of how well you explain the rules of board games, but also because in your "Game Night!" show you give us joy, good vibes and, ultimately, that you´re in good company enjoying an experience with good friends! Nice work, keep it up and a hugs from an anonymous fan!
Hi Lincoln, I was wondering about how you kept the glare down on the board? My board is super glossy. Did you adjust the lighting or is your board a more matt finish? Also love the intro with Deborah.
The lights are positioned away from the table so they do not bounce directly in the camera. You need more and brighter lighting to get enough light with this method but you get much less potential for glare. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln
This game annoys me because I want to like it, but I can't help but feel like something is missing when I see the player boards and individual named characters. I feel like there ought to be asymmetric player powers printed on the boards. It would add to the replayability by making each character be a little different.
The new year starts off great with Deborah! Yeah! So happy she's back!
I mean playing a Vampire game without Deborah would have been a crime.
LOL! I loved the three way look at Deborah in the beginning.
Went all out on that thumbnail!
A two hour long video and it's with Deborah, absolutely love that for the first GameNight of 2022 😁❤
I've loved most if not all of the GameNight videos, but I especially love those videos where the chemistry and joy are so palpable. Thanks for allowing us to be a part -- albeit vicariously.
19:40 - you can hunt in the cemetery anything but humans.

You got Deborah Ann Woll to play a vampire game!
You guys!
This is the most awesome/wholesome thing I saw in a while!
So glad she won too! :)))
Love the video's thumbnail!
Every episode Deborah is on is great!
I flipping love Nikki’s shirt
Amazing!!!! Deborah is back!!!!
you know it's gonna be a good one if shes in it cause they always bring her in with games with interesting mechanics (and this one has that)
The new year starts off great
This game looks so much fun! It was so much fun watching the group play this!
It was hilarious when in the beginning after Dave said "VAMPIRES" you all glared at Deborah (true bood was an awersome show)
It can also refer to her appearance on magic crimson vow trailer spoiler skit where she and Becca Scott were vampires
It could but more so for True Blood
Hahaha, absolutely loved that opening! So cute.

Deborah AND Dave?!?! What did we do to deserve such greatness?!
Awesome! Loved this. Nice work guys. I watch a lot of these but not often buy the game while watching. So you all showcased this perfectly
At 1:21:45 Nikki doesn’t use the Confuse card text

Dave on the miniature looks awesome 😆 I love it 👍
Okay, so I bought this game right away. I absolutely love it. Thank you!
This is my neighbour's new game. We've played twice, differently. Now I think I'll read the rules for the next time.
Glad to see the gangs all there.

It plays similar to Clank but so much fun!
A great video as usual there guys, and I really like this game too, definitely one I could get my teeth into - I'm just leaving... 🤣
This one looks great! We’ll have to check it out.
I think I’ve watched almost all the GN videos and this is one of the best imo. Great job. Happy Deborah won.
Not sure if you have mention it already but when Deborah win the Rose Card, Dave gave the points to the blue token instead. Tiny mistake

Every time anyone said 'the hunger' all I could think of was the old arcade game Sinistar "I HUNGER"
But does it replace clank?
When using form of bat, it replaces your movement so does that mean you can't hunt that turn anymore?

The turn order mechanic sounds like a nightmare. Why on earth wouldn't they just number the spaces and use that to determine who was "furthest away"?
