I worked as a naturalist. Duff is the correct term for ‘litter fall’ or the decaying leaf layer on the ground. FYI a person that sits in the middle of a canoe and doesn’t paddle is also called a “duff”. Being a naturalist, this game is absolutely beautiful and I love the book of information about the flora and fauna on the cards. I got to play it at a con in March.
Just purchased this game online for my granddaughter who turns 8 later this year and I'm moving from Australia to Europe and cant wait to give this to her and play it with her and Grandma (my Mrs) and have a blast. I think our granddaughter is going to love this game.
We downloaded this game on Tabletop simulator before the episode was even over. Played it, then purchased the real game today. Thanks BGG for the sweet recommendation.
Good omen because I literally bought this game yesterday (a valentine's present for my girlfriend) and today this episode comes out. Thank you guys for yet another excellent teach and gameplay.
I wish that I had seen this before playing it with some friends yesterday. And losing. 😕 Maybe now that I've seen the teach, I can take the tips that I picked up, and beat them next week! 😉 You folks are awesome. ❤.... drop in on my 🎲🎲 Meetup GameNight! sessions whenever you're in Minneapolis some Sunday. 😁👍👌 👏
I'm just now finally getting around to learning this game- after owning it for about 3 months. Great vid! I hope to play as efficiently as you guys when the time comes
Watched this after buying Meadow for the wife's b-day. Looking forward to playing even more now! And the shirts worn by the ladies are great -- but how about that epic piece of art worn by Lincoln? Awesome!
Beautyful game rich of colors; you can image to walk in nature, looking birds, animals e different plants. The mechanics are simple but nice to play. I buy it for Christmas. I love it like the other favourite game of the same designer: Dream House. Congratulations for the funny program, i follow you from Italy!! Bye!
The way Nikki is enjoying putting the pieces in the perfect order brings me peace and joy! ruclips.net/video/neqsL7jTm7c/видео.html Now for real, thanks for always being so thoughtful to how we see it from here. It can't be easy to play, rememeber the rules, talk, think and even be careful we are watching it all. Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks... These things make it the best BG channel by far! keep the great work/fun
Like this one. Good integration of theme with mechanics. And of course, beautiful artwork really helps with table presence and helps sell the game. The volume of card types and combos encourages repeat play to discover all that's in the box...that's also a big plus in my book. The game takes a dash of Targi (row & column card selection), and pulls heavy influence from both Parks & Wingspan in theme, art & some mechanics...I think this game will be very popular this year.
This seems somewhat similar to Parks (which we started to play because of your playthrough) with all the scenery collection. But the card stacking mechanic is something that makes it stand out.
1:30:48 - Quadropolis from Days of Wonder also uses the number from a grid selection mechanism. I like it better here with the back use option of the posts and the gorgeous nature theme Vs city building. Thank you for the great teach, gameplay, and discussion! :)
Those card holder/tray things look useful. Where did you buy them? Thank you for further raising my interest on this game. Tom from DT gave it a good review, but now after I've seen you guys play it, I'm pulling the trigger on buying it myself.
Gabor, those are from the BGG Store here: boardgamegeekstore.com/collections/silicone-products/products/bgg-card-bit-holders Thanks for the note and for watching the show. -Lincoln
I'm really interested in this game, and my group have played it about 4 times now and we almost stopped playing it wrong. There's now way I'm getting rid of this game. It's just too beautiful to let go. Now I hear an expansion is coming so we'll keep trying.
1:22:30 Lincoln has a bird, and all the other necessary requirements for the card, then why does he say he has one, but doesn't have it and pays 2 cards for it? Did I miss a rule?
Rick, you can get those from the BGG Store here: boardgamegeekstore.com/collections/silicone-products/products/bgg-card-bit-holders . Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln
I wonder if Deborah has considered doing a show similar to Tabletop with Wil Wheaton. I know it's derivative, but when that show show ended, it left a gaping hole that has yet to be truly filed. (Nothing against GameNight!. It's just a different kind of show.)
Didn't for this one. Really dry and lots of heads down scanning of the board getting frustrated when card choices that are not great. Plus with 4 players, it's way too long for this kind of game weight; well over 2 hours.
I love Deborah and wish she was featured in more episodes...but I wish they played better games when she was there. This game and many others that she's been on are just (in my opinion) horrible games that I have zero interest in playing or watching someone else play. In contrast Dave (who annoys the hell out of me) is on many episodes where I love the game being played. On a side note: Nikki seems to have gotten much more comfortable at teaching the games on camera. It still looks like something she doesn't necessarily like doing, but she's gotten better at it over the years.
Just in case this is the reason Dave annoys you, Nikki has said that she asked Dave to help her with her turns on all games. It’s a sacrifice he’s willing to make, because he’s a good friend, that ends up hurting him because it takes away his focus on his own playing.
I have to say that I absolutely LOVE that Deborah is an avid gamer and is featured on these Game Nights.

Love learning games from the game night videos. They are helpful and instructive. Thank you and hope to see more.

Thank you for the teach Nikki! I love how during your explanation you make sure everyone is following you before you move on to the next thing.

Much love to the whole gamegroup! Love watching you guys!
Love these game night videos of the channel as I learn a lot through them. I really enjoy discovering.

Interesting game; great to watch the playthrough. Nice work Nikki. P!

Yes!! Love this game! So fun to watch you guys play it.
Really enjoyed this playthrough. I could feel the joyful atmosphere. :)

I've just recenly found BoardGameGeek and loving GameNight! So going back through the back catalog, Love the vids keep it up! :)

Nice playthrough, didn’t know the game but definitively interesting. Love the art!
Happy belated birthday, Deborah. Quite an interesting and pretty game.
Hahaha “esthetically angry” loved it 😂

This board game looks so beautiful. Thank you for your video! I love Deborah´s t-shirt («D&D: Baldur´s Gate») 🙂
Yay! I've been waiting for you to play this game on the show.
Another great video. I just picked up Meadow, but haven't got around to playing it yet.
Great game, thanks for teaching us 😊Btw Nikki I love your hair 💙
I LOVE Nikki's shirt!!!!!
Deborah, that shirt is fire.
Had this game for awhile now, thanks guys for inspiring me to play it. ❤️
Im still trying to figure out exactly what it is - her t shirt that is
@@atomiccritter6492 Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus. A D&D module.
@@EvanSawyer4 thanks much appreciated
That mushroom Lincoln found in the "Meadow" sure looks magically delicious! 🤣 The game looks like a pastoral pleasure to play; Thanks for the episode.
Meadow looks like one of these games that I might love possessing.
You guys are amazing!
I would love for that game to have an app, I’d probably play it as much as Wingspan !
I'm going to argue next time someone says I should clean my room that it's just "litterfall", and nature shouldn't be disturbed.

Meadow, great game!
Deborah! How cool! She’s great in Daredevil and I hope she comes back to play Karen.
Hopefully she doesn’t want to tank her acting career that bad by getting mixed up in Disney’s Marvel dumpster fire. She’s way too good for them.

Something about this game screamed Polish, the animals, the art, to me and it is. Heh. Nice game.
The designer and the artist are both from Poland 🇵🇱 😊
At around 1.11 I missed the overview for a while, but great game

I it was revealed that one card is missing a sleeve, I could no longer watch.
It feels off when you don't have a four player group in a video, but I'm still getting a very long GameNight video so it's all good 😁
Love the art, but would be cool if there was a special edition with real life photos.
The problem I have playing this game is to try and not be impolsive and grab what catches my eye and then I can't play it.🤣🤣🤣
is that Geddy Lee of Rush?
First I have seen them use sleeves
Where’s Dave?!
He's up in the Bay Area again helping his parents. He should be back soon.
can I come join yall for a gamenight some time?
Get out 8 or 9 lands as quickly as possible.
Where can I find those card holders?
Rick, you can get those from the BGG Store here: boardgamegeekstore.com/collections/silicone-products/products/bgg-card-bit-holders . Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln
Baah they are sitting in the wrong spots again!
aesthetically angry
What happened to Dave?
Dave is back up in the Bay Area helping his parents. Hopefully he will be back soon.-Lincoln
