  • "Turknellis" AKA Benelli M4 clones imported from turkey have an interesting reputation. from one side you hear great things and how awesome they work. from the other side you hear about malfunctions and jams. Orthos Arms reached out with their take on the Turknelli, claiming to have fixed all the common Turkish clone QC issues with some out of the box upgrades.

The Benelli M4 is a semi-automatic shotgun produced by Italian firearm manufacturer Benelli Armi SpA, and the fourth and last model of the Benelli Super 90 line of semi-automatic shotguns. The M4 uses a proprietary action design called the "auto-regulating gas-operated" (ARGO) system, which was created specifically for the weapon. Designed in 1998, the M4 was adopted by the armed forces of Italy, the United States, and United Kingdom, among others, and has been used in a variety of conflicts.

I did misspeak on the price for those who care - $1100 for flat colors, they have cerakote camo ones that cost more. Just a correction so I don’t do anyone a disservice.

Yeah that's too much for a turkish 'clone'. Idk what a legit M4 is, but I can't imagine spending more than that for one.
Maybe if it was $300-500. There is a crapton of semis/pumps in that range that I'd choose over it.

I am writing from Turkiye. Turkiye is a jurassic park for shotguns :). You may find any platform of rifles' shotgun verisons, AR15's, AK's even Steyr AUG, Tavor like bullpup platforms. It is because, for civilians, owning an assault rifle is strickly forbidden in Turkiye, so gun lovers buy these bore barrell shotgun versions. As a result, there are hundreds of shotgun producers. Maybe 20% of this producers are very professional factories, but the rest are some kind of under the counter producers. So there is a very big variation in quality. Generally in Turkiye we buy the shotgun, use for a while, than take it back to factory, explain the problems :) they fix and after that, they are pretty usable. Best wishes from Istanbul, very nice video.

I had one before that and I got a refund from Classic Firearms because it would not cycle the next round even after 100 round of break in ammo. The Charles Daily is setting in pieces in a box. Most people that buy these Benelli shotguns buy them for the brand name recognition.
You do not need to buy a semi auto shotgun that costs $2000 in order to get one that works reliable.
I purchased a $175 semi auto shotgun made in Turkey, added a mag tube to make it 8+1 for $60, added a pistol grip adjustable stock for $100, broke it in properly.
It will fire any 2.75 and 3 inch shell provided they are at a minimum 1150fps and have over 800 rounds through it and no failure.

For the price the quality is on point,it’s a well made firearm and I’m very happy with it. Since the patent on the ARGO system expired, why doesn't a company like Mossberg make their own? Having a US made Benelli clone would get around the stupid 922r bs for imported shotguns wouldn't it? It would be nice to have an option for an affordable Benelli clone that already came with a full mag tube, collapsable stock, etc. from the factory. I doubt PSA will get into shotgun territory anytime soon but if they made M4 clones, they'd probably offer every configuration imaginable.

The 940 pro gas system is actually pretty insane. Also Beretta started getting around 922R for the 1301 by sending all the parts individually from Italy to US for final assembly. Still Italian. They could do same with M4.

@@vegeta420z6You can get a used 1301 Tactical for 1100 any day of the week, so no, this is still a ridiculously tough sell. Quite frankly my 1301 is a better shotgun than my M4 H20 so even a real Benelli is a tough sell, but I digress. There’s a select few Turkish manufacturers who make very high quality handguns, but I’ve never seen a single Turkish shotgun that was worth any money at all. In a world where Mossberg will sell you a bombproof shotgun for $200 or less, there’s literally no excuse to own one of these and defend it.

For the benelli M4 that isn't neutered, you're probably looking upwards of $2,200-$2,500ish, depending on where you get it and taxes, etc. You'll have the undeniable best, though.
