I know right, I always hated how nobody saw things from Butcher's perspective: that's mans one reason for living was his wife, finding her, getting revenge for her, keeping his promise to her. Everyone acts like he was too obsessed with killing Homelander when the fact was it's ALL he had left, they didn't get that. Hughie and Annie have each other, Frenchie and Kimiko have each other and MM has his daughter, each of them have a reason to fight and live for but Butcher has NOTHING to keep him going but anger and hatred and still he sees Ryan as the son of the woman he loves and not the son of the man he hates. Even Wolverine isn't this broken 😢
In the comics, Butcher basically commited genocide on supers, and then Hughie killed him after being gaslit by butcher. Seems like Billy's send-off will be a lot more noble in this one. Especially if he ultimately does fail.
Show is so much better than the comics. Everyone in the comic besides hughie and Starlight and maeve had legit zero humanity. In the boys, everyone has so much depth that its heartbreaking when so many can die.

I’m glad they changed butchers character from the comic. This is such a better alternative for his character on the whole versus the comic where he’s just completely callous and ruthless about everything related to supes.
Feels more, as Butcher said, “realistic”. The Butcher in the comic, essentially becomes a Punisher hellbent on killing Homelander and all Supers. But in the show, when Death begins knocking on his door, he finally takes the advice his friends have been yelling at him at this point, and tries to do something right before he dies. If not to escape damnation, at least to help an innocent that doesn’t deserve Homelander’s abuse. Billy finally realized something’s gotta give. He, even Homelander, can’t keep doing this forever. They’ll eventually both end up in the dirt.
Truth is the boys NEED butcher. He’s the smartest and most experienced out of them all. He realised Annie was lying about her history with firecracker straight away. No one else did. He’s the only man that can take down homelander

See...this is exactly why I cannot understand how anyone can say Butcher is no different than Homelander. Unlike Homelander, Butcher still has a conscience and genuinely cares for other people like Ryan. He has become a better father to Ryan than Homelander could ever dream of being...if he actually cared about being a good father which he does not.

That’s what I’m excited for because even if butcher succeeds or not Ryan will be all alone in the end and who knows if another homelander with look after Ryan and make butchers efforts in vain so asking M to take this role will make butcher rest easy knowing Ryan is safe with someone he trusts

I wiuld have Hughie show his serious side by accepting the responsibility of carrying on Billy's legacy of policing the supes and Annie, I think, would be capable of being a great parent once she accepts the role.
