Sorry not sorry. Homelander and Butcher setting aside their scorch the earth motivations to protect and defend ryan was personally one of the coolest moment. Just two angry pieces of shit teaming up on another piece of shit. Which then gave us the badass monent of Maeve beating the shit out of homelander before saving everyone from soldier boy goin nuclear.
Ryan should have known his Place. Then *"Homelander" (LOL!)* and Butcher wouldn't have needed to protect him. But N~OOOoooo ... ... ... ... ... he is jumping in there like the braindead Kid he is. Trying to *"PROTECT"* a Man with Homelander, from which Ryan has no Idea what for a Monster he actually is. Ryan wants to have a Bloodrelative so bad, it's ridiculous. Makes me think he will *"STILL"* side with Homelander when he finds out what Homelander has all done. To Starlights Friend Supersonic. To countless other People. To People who all had Friends and/or Family. I am afraid Ryan will become *JUUUST* the A~hole that his Mother always feared he would become, if he would be with Homelander.
I think the issue is that it could've been avoided if either butcher or meave just took Ryan away and then the other two fought homelander. Unless Ryan just breaks free.
@@crapcase3985Yeah, that’s my thing too. Like, people are saying it’s bad that Butcher “betrayed” SB and they feel bad for SB, but 1. He didn’t have to hit Ryan, even if he hit him first, but it would’ve all been avoided if someone took Ryan away in the first place.
Butcher hits a nice sweet spot for me. He's definitely badass and sympathetic. But there's also so many times where I'm telling the other characters, "Man, fuck that guy! Don't trust him!" I think it's a good balance since the rest of the cast is much less shitty than him
I would never say he's sympathetic tho haha. If anything sympathy is probably the rarest emotion he would feel. Can you recall scenes where he actually connects or shows understanding for other peoples feelings? (I realise this might sound rude, so just clarifying I'm trying to debate it respectfully haha)
William Butcher is how you make a Likable and Sympathetic Anti Hero written Right, sure his Actions are Brutal as Hell but his Motivations are Justified, not to mention that his Past does explain why he’s the Man he is Today and can be a Hilarious Badass that does care about his Love Ones, although I do believe we need more Heroes as Anti Heroes are Plaguing Comic Adaptations for how the Writers get it Wrong.
Butcher works because we know he’s diabolical but we want to see him make the right choices. He’s also just hilarious in most scenes. Plus he’s an accurate representation of British people.
In our world butcher would be considered an unredeemable phycopath but in the boys where morals dont matter there is ALOT worse than him so Butcher seems more tame in comparison.
I fell in love with his character cause it may sound like a cliche but if I was him, or got in this sort of circumstances - I'd just do everything the same way 1000000% For me he's an absolute hero 😄and ofc Karl is adorable ^^
Peppering in off the cuff commentary is super important. Its a skill! One that gets lost when creators only rely on the script and being able to record line for line instead of all at once. The honesty is appreciated and hilarious. Cheers buddy.
Amazing video however I disagree that heroes caring about justices and hope isn't human, heroes are inherently flawed that's why they try to find hope in dark times(Superman, Spider-Man, captain america , batman ect.). Not saying Anti heroes aren't interesting too but both sides are interesting imo
Yeah the times of "100% morally correct superhero who just fights bad guys for truth and justice" are pretty far off these days, and even if it is true (like Spider-Man or Superman) usually they aren't particularly overt and the stories focus on things like their personal relationships, not just "im going to save the day!"
and everyone mentioned still had dark moments showing they aren’t just cookie cutter just good hero’s sometimes they want too kill want too do the wrong thing sometimes they even do kill all superhero’s in my opinion should have moments like that it’s not realistic for someone to never have bad thoughts it’s just how you act on them that makes a hero or an antihero
The moment when butcher and homelander teams up to save Ryan from Soldier boy is alot bigger for butchers arc than people give it credit for . I mean really what was supposed to happen they were going to kill homelander in the third season lol what were we going to watch for seasons 4 and 5 😂😂😂
I wonder what you'd think about Invincible, because while Mark is a very good (moral) protagonist, I think he comes off as infinitely more human than other superhero protagonists. Also yeah I too adore the way Butcher fought Soldier Boy to save Ryan.
I would rather see Homelander lose his powers and be a regular person than die, personally. I’m sure Butcher will come out on top in the end, can’t wait and hope time goes by quick.
For all the bad things he did Homelander did not ally up with N°zis, or with Liberty/Stormfront at all. He just liked having her around for his own ego. Stormfront licked his boots all the time which he enjoyed. This is not an alliance. He does not care about the N°zi ideology. At least not more as in a sense that he makes his own version out of it. With him being the prime human and other sups just barely better than normal Humans. But he was not allied with her. She was just like all others for him. Something he used to further feed his ego.
10:18 One of the best exceptions to this is, or _was,_ the Doctor, and especially the Twelfth. Twelve's arc was him trying to figure out if he's a good man and, whilst he finds an answer at the end of his first series, it takes him until his _third_ for him to finally understand _why;_ the answer isn't that he's a naturally good person, it's that he _wants to be one._ He was willing to do _whatever_ it took to help people, even going as far as fighting an army of Cybermen alone just to give some children a few more days to live, simply because it's what _should_ be done. He refuses to give up or run away, even when the odds are so stacked against him that the only victories he can get are temporary ones, because running away means that people _will_ die; if he _stays_ however, it means that, whether or not he wins, he knows he's done his absolute best to ensure that the people around him can live. In general, the Doctor is one of those characters who will stand against anything from an overbearing neighbour to _Satan himself_ if it means people don't have to live in fear, and he does it because he happens to be there at the time. That's not to say that the Doctor is _completely_ selfless, as he has had bouts of _incredible_ egomania that cause him to try to defy the laws of time and the universe itself, and they always end _horribly._ A woman once committed suicide so the Doctor's actions didn't destroy the timeline, and another episode had him exile the Lord President of his own home planet in an attempt to save a dead friend, and both times were because the Doctor got it into his head that all his centuries of saving the universe meant that he could do anything, and that the universe _owed_ him
I watched this while preparing a roast and i couldnt help but laugh as you said food length i had gotten it pulled out, shredded and put back into the stock to marinate longer
If youve never read the comics. The relationship between billy and his dad goes so much deeper than being a shitty father. Billy is his dad v2 but he HATES him so he wants to be different but in the end "hes got his dads evil in him"
I was shocked when i heard about people's reaction to season 3 finale from your video: Soldier Boy is like 10 TIMES WORSE THAN HOMELANDER. How tf would they solve Soldier Boy problem after killing Homelander together?

GOTTA say I'm still on the fence about things that happen in the show and what I've read from the comics. But all in all, it's all pretty GOT DA-YUM good.
I actually think butcher is much worse than Homelander, because at least Homelander is a lot more honest about his evilness. Butcher just does terrible crimes and constantly betrays his closest friends, then has a scene where he cries because he has daddy issues and lost his loved ones. As if every member of the team hasn't suffered a ton in their lives lol. Don't get me wrong, I love Karl Urban and the character is a lot of fun. But even if I hope Homelander is defeated I also hope he makes butcher suffer a lot first. PS:(Although I wouldn't be against a tragic finale where Homelander takes over the world or some shit lol)
