After watching a gazillion wrenching videos it's nice to see you out in the wind with the Missus. She's a very nice girl. Enjoyed her "throw me something Mister" moments. Takes me back some. Way back. Reminds me that I was once young with babes on the back who weren't bashful about flashing some. Of course now I'm near the end of the runway but still riding as much as I can. Solo, sadly. But it is what it is. Treasure these days my friend. They will be behind you soon enough. Sturgis and the rally experience has changed a lot since the first time I went in 1962. Not many true Bikers there anymore but you did capture a couple in your video. Take good care of that little girl. She's a peach.
You guys should come out to Laconia this year. Its the 100 anniversary. Should be a good time. My wife and I will be heading to Sturgis for our first time this year.
@@GilstrapGarage Sorry for the late response, I didn't realize I got a reply...Look at your comment at 12:04 when you say that they're not using their mirrors or looking at all. Just because he didn't turn his head far enough for you to know if he really couldn't see in his mirrors doesn't mean he didn't use his mirrors; he just needs a fast glance if he was paying attention to the people he had just passed before you caught up to him, I just think your perspective of that situation was off. Sal Good Man! 😇 Not to mention they may have the ability to communicate to one another.
Nope, this bike is a an 05, 88” 5 speed. I used to think the 6 speed was superior. But they 5 speeds are way more reliable than the 6, and it doesn’t really affect my riding when it comes to highway cruising speed.
@@GilstrapGarage appreciate you getting back with me! last question.. riding a super glide compared to a low rider, can you notice the difference in the front rake? i didnt know that the low rider had the same front rake as a wide glide for the earlier year dynas... i heard they arent really good at low speeds and not as nimble. but how much of a difference can 4 degrees of rake make?
I grew up in San Bernardino. I worked for my uncle in hesperia when I was like 18, I used to hit it up all the time. And then I lived in Victorville for the last 2 years before we left California
Figured out why you rode through IA from Omaha, it’s the only interstate around. Never met a motorcycle mechanic that ever took a rode trip without their own bike not ready for the trip, it’s because you can & prefer fixing things as you go 👍🏻 Great footage, great video 👍🏻👍🏻
I usually like to prepare and work out all the kinks, but sometimes you just don’t get to 🤣 and Yupp, we kind of scooted north all the way up the border until we had a chance to start cutting west. It was a blast!

The best advice I can give is just pack the essentials and hit the road! Rain gear for sure, fresh skivies, a couple pairs of pants, and a small spare can of gas. No matter how much you prepare, you can never account for everything. Where are you riding from?
