- My wife and I took a trip to Blair NE where we enjoyed some Dairy Queen and spent a little time together. On the way home, my shift lever stripped out and put a challenge on the ride home

I was in my early 20's eons before you were born. Busted a clutch cable and did what I had to do as you said. There's always heavy traffic and a light at every intersection. Stopping was not an option soooooooo.... I became an expert at timing the lights. Ever since I have been totally anal about clutch cable lubrication and adjustment. 99% of Harley riders these days would just pull over and call a tow truck. Bummer there's no video... it's all part of the journey, as you say.
I wish I would have caught it! It was a wild ride for those last few miles 🤣 but I’m not a “wait it out” kind of guy
@@GilstrapGarage As you can probably tell, I am very old school and one of the last of a dying breed. Not for me to say but "Do you need to call someone?" is just a tad disrespectful. You're the man and the Missus needs to understand that you'll take care of everything which includes her. Unfortunately she was never properly schooled. My Daughter knows better than to pipe up with that kind of drivel. So as a favor to the few of us freedom fighters who are still above ground please drop the "less politicin'" stickers and replace it with something that broadcasts that the wearer has a pair. Like "Kill a Biker go to jail". Much appreciated. There's a shrinking crew of us who have spent decades fighting for your rights and freedoms. It pisses me off to no end that today's motorcycle owners have no appreciation of those who fought and died for freedoms that they happily piss away.
@@franksaxton3583 ya know Mr. Saxton, I don’t typically respond to comments on this channel that are arrogant or self centered, but I draw the line on the relationship advice and comments about what is expected from my wife. My wife has nothing but the most respect and unconditional love for me. neither you nor anybody else who interacts with my content knows anything about our marriage other than what I choose to show online.
And in regards to the stickers I choose to make and sell, or the views and expressions I choose to display; I am a very firm believer in everybody’s right to the 1st amendment. In order to truly believe in the freedom of speech and expression, a person also has to be willing to understand that it is okay for others to not agree with them. Despite any age gap, or any differences at all, my “fight” is for true freedom and happiness for all. Now that can be interpreted in many different ways. Your idea of freedom may be different than mine. Your idea of happiness may also be different than mine. But all I truly care about in life is my wife, my children, and the lifestyle I choose to live in this small motorcycle community. And I will never conform to anybody’s input on how I am supposed to navigate through this life.

U COULD HAVE USED A PAIR OF VICE GRIPS and USE as SHIFT LEVER . WAS there ANY HARDWARE STORES AROUND, I KNOW IT HAPPENED ON WAY HOME. CARRY A PAIR IN CASE, GOOD TOOL TO HAVE WITH YOU ANYWAY . BUDDY DID this BEFORE, LOST HIS SHIFT LEVER . FELL OFF WHILE RIDING. LUCKY HE HAD a PAIR OF VICE GRIPS
