With the retro marketing taking place trying to get the industry out of the sales doldrums (sales have been flat for about 15 years) I wonder why anyone would spend a lot of money for a new motorcycle that emulates a classic when you can actually buy the classic for less money! If I were in the market for a Retro style bike, I would not buy a new one, I would buy the nicest CB-750 I could find. I consider the CB-750 as the most influential and one of the best-looking motorcycles ever made. One of my other favorites not mentioned here is the Honda 305 CL-77. While the CB-750 was futuristic, the 305 Scrambler would be the only other classic from the era that would interest me. Even today, both of these bikes have retained their appeal.
So where's the Honda Cub ? They only made 60 million of them and still counting. Now THAT is the all time Japanese classic and it didn't even get a mention. LOL
Yeah; a completely terrible mashup of a video with the most offensive thing a content “creator” can do-Computer generated narration! Instant thumbs down from me.

My two favourite were the Honda CB750 four and the Kawasaki GPZ 900R! Going back to 1969 here in the UK, this Big Honda sent shockwaves through the British motorcycle industry and was the death nell for many of these companies years later! Imagine how incredibly modern it must have looked in that time! The Kawasaki, well what is not to love? Immense power for the time, I adore the 'razor' sharp looks and livery to die for. You would be hard pressed to find a super sports so 'in your face' with its aggressive looks and intimidating powerhouse of an engine. Awesome choices , very enjoyable nostalgic video!
In 1970 a friend of my parents had a Honda 750four..... one day I stood to watch & listen to him REVV that Bike UP ! Man was that some sound for a young kid to behold, I was 8 yrs old. It was a "wow" experience I've never forgot// peace
CB750 and CB92…Agree! Same for GPZ 900R. As for the rest…. How about the Honda CBR900RR? That bike rewrote what a powerful sports bike should be. Then there’s the gold wing and CX500, Yamaha XT500, Suzuki GS750, Yamaha diversion…The list goes on and on..so many great bikes out of Japan back in the day. We really were spoilt for choice.
Actually the Honda CB750 was not the 1st production transverse 4, MV Agusta made production versions of it’s transverse 4, way before the Honda entered the market.
I owned a 1969 Kawasaki H1 500, the 498th one off the assembly line. I raced a few of the Honda 750s. Smoked every one of them, literally! That 750 wasn't all that fast.
I enjoyed the video a lot, but do not agree with the 750 Honda & the Z1 being so far down the list. They changed how the new breed of bikes of those days came about, and moved the bar up a few notches as to where motorcycles after them started to go, IMO. Currently own a "73 RD 350 & '73 Z1, both in stock form.
I must have good taste.😊 I’ve owned a RD350, 4 Honda 4s K 1,2,7 and a F2 , a Kawasaki GPZ 900. But I reckon you should have included the GS Suzuki 1000. Just saying. I’m still riding but now on a 96 Buell S1 lightning. 👍
Great list, although I would not have included the SV1000 and rather included the Suzuki Katana 1100. I owned a RD350YPVS and a GPZ900R. They were both fantastic bikes for their time.
You are forgetting the famous Suzuki GSX 1100 E, who dethroned the Honda CB CBX 1000 (six cilinders), which bullet proof motor gave way to the still famous first Suzuki Katana 1100 ! A real firs monster bike of the 80's !
Well, regarding the Power output of a Z1 900...at, now names most markets it had 82 HP (but Germany the 79 HP I think) Later 1976 version, now names Z 900 (or in America KZ 900) had a small drop in HP from 82 to 81 HP. The Model having 90 HP is the 1978/79 Z1-R (1015cc engine) and totally different style.
Another stupid personal opinion piece. It would have been better if bikes like the Honda Cub was in there. 150 MILLION made and 1/4 of the economy of the world relies on the things.
The SV1000S, nice bike buy no classic, TL1000S now that is a stone cold cult classic, mad as a badger and so much fun, I owned both and the TL had it going on.
I guess I need to do a little Internet search. I need to find out if the MV Augusta was mass produced with the same in-line for cylinder transversely managed single overhead cam engine. Perhaps it had two cams. I’m about to find out.
The CB750 was NOT the first production 750cc motorcycle with a transverse four cylinder engine. That was the MV Agusta 750 Sport, which also had double overhead cams. It was preceded by the MV Agusta 600 - in 1966. Try researching the subject before badly teaching an AI ap to read your mistakes.
Must be among the worst "list of classics" ever? Depending on what you want to focus on, I'd say Japans Top 7 list has to start with the Kawasaki H2 750, followed by the CB 750, taking the sportbikes from 2 strokes to four. Then Suzuki went from one cam and 8 valves, to twin cam and 16 valves with the GSX -I'd put the 1100 Katqana on the list as it boasts design and twin cam tech. Next on the list is also a Suzuki GSX; The 1985 GSXR 750, who made racebikes availeble right out of the crate. The next is a bit more challengeing, I say 5th place on the list is a tie between Yamaha FZR750R, OW01 and the Honda RC30 -we loved both of them but you never admitted to it.. You were either a Honda guy or a Yamaha dude, loveing one openly, desireing the other secretly.. The last of the top 7 is Honda NR 750 -I don't have to argue why.
No argument at all with the CB750, an absolute Japanese classic, but any list of top Japanese bikes that leaves out the Z1 900 is impossible to take seriously, to leave this machine out but include the Katana (???) is one of the strangest Japanese "bests of" I have ever seen.
Yes it is true that Honda made some of the most beautiful and exciting motorcycles out there, but that was a very long time ago. There is not a single new Honda motor bike on sale in 2024, that is half as good as the 1960 -1970's models. Honda just as with all other motorcycle manufacturers have totally lost their way! Modern Honda motorbikes, are unwanted technology ridden , horrible heaps, with a rats nest of water pipes for massive unsightly radiators, where once you would see a gleaming engine! RIP motorcycle design I am too sad to continue, those of you old enough remember the zenith of motor cycle design, its long gone now!
The CB 750 will never be usurped! It stands and remains the iconic SUPERBIKE. I had one of the first ones out and wish I still had it.
The 750 Honda was the game changer it was rèliable & did everything so well for a affordable price nothing could compare ❤ 😂
You should have ignored the wife telling you you have too many bikes.

Kawasaki Z1. Perfect 👍🏻
What do you mean ''classic''? Almost half of them are sportbikes. Calling SV1000 a classic - absurd!!!
That’s not what classic means

The Honda CB400SS is one of my favs from back then, a masterpiece of a driving-machine
I have one 😀
Hate it when I see a cool thubnail only to find it not featured in the video- hate that lie
I'm with you.
What is it?!
Only reason I came to see this video was that machine and now I wonder if it was some kind of AI generation.
CB750, Z900 continues
Yamaha VMAX is my favorite
All should be on the list
1985 gsxr750
Gamma 500
Rd 400
Fz750
Fzr1000
Honda CB750 is not 7°, bat 1° for me. One fantastic dream
Biking since 1976. My all time favourites of their time; Yamaha FJ1100 & Kawasaki ZZR1100 (ZX-11).
How much can it cost to hire a real announcer?!
The content excelled but the "Max Headroom" announcer left a lot to be desired.
Yes, a proper “bad boy”😂
And someone that knows what a classic motorcycle is instead of this list of nonsense
RZ350 Wheelie monster, love riding those against the GP 9s, owned both.
Awesome bike indeed
La prima vera superbike 1972/3 Z1a Kawasaki Forever ❤❤❤❤❤
SV 1000 a legend? Have you been sniffing glue?
could add the honda cbx 1050 six
CB 750 was very popular among the GIs in 1960s stationed in Japan.
An SV1000 Suzuki and a Yamaha VMax are hardly classic.. Who makes these videos?? Do they even know anything about motorcycles??
Rode my GT550 Suzuki from Chicago to Toronto, return. Course had to add 2 stoke oil every 500 miles. Hard to find now
Actually the Honda CB750 was not the 1st production transverse 4, MV Agusta made production versions of it’s transverse 4, way before the Honda entered the market.
I love MV Augusta, were there for mass produced?
@@TheBlueDogMan well that’s open to debate
Correct but few could afford the MV, so I guess it gets forgotten.
I bought a RZ500 new in 1985 and still have it. It's in near mint condition.
I owned a 1969 Kawasaki H1 500, the 498th one off the assembly line. I raced a few of the Honda 750s. Smoked every one of them, literally! That 750 wasn't all that fast.
My friend has has a Z1. He got it in '85 from original owner. Mint, low miles. Looks same as the one in this feed.
I seen a dude named Ninja Norm on his Kawi run through my friend's Spaniel. Never forget that.
Strange selection!
1970 rd 350 amazing bike!
Honda 350 CB, SL, CL, Goldwing 1000, 919 Hornet, Cub, Trail 90; Yamaha Enduro 360, 175, 125, Heritage 650; Suzuki Bandit series, Water Buffalo; Kawasaki 100 Trail Boss, 125 250 350 Enduros, Mach 3 series; Jawa 2 strokes 250, 350. many many more
XJR 400/1200. ST DAX 70

Back in my day it was easy to have good taste: RD250, 400-4, T500, GT750....... Liked them all!
H2 triple, well all the triples, S1 up.❤
I thought the CB 750 was the bike until I saw the Kawasaki KZ 650 say eat a Honda 750 for lunch. I brought the 650 no regrets.
Had a Mach 3 Kawasaki it was only 500 but was quicker but a death trap Cheers
Not what my list would look like at all , H2 750 , Z1300 , Katana 1100 , GS850 shaft drive , GSX -R11000, CBX 1000 , FS1e , FJ 1200.
Great list, although I would not have included the SV1000 and rather included the Suzuki Katana 1100. I owned a RD350YPVS and a GPZ900R. They were both fantastic bikes for their time.

I wish the japanese made more singles and inline twins, both air and water cooled. For me, there is no need for any other configurations.
Its the Zed 1 baby
A modern day CB750/4 would go down a storm today. I have owned a CB1100EX but it was quite heavy and a front brake that was very strong indeed.
How was ur experience with cb1100Ex how many miles did u ride it?
I love my 2020 CB1100RS, definitely a keeper.
I had an ‘83 CB1100F in the US. Bought it new and sold it 5 years later. I regretted selling it 30 minutes later, still do. Only sold for 1 year here.
Interesting but the florid overwrought script and the terrible mistake ridden robotic narration made this hard to bear.
Yep, terrible. Thumbs down

The last year for the Yamaha RZ 350 YPVS, (in Canada) was 1988!
Honda VF750 was excellent
Um...so no mention of the Goldwing? CBX? VFR? Katana?
Maybe the KAt 11
The click bait motorcycle says cb570. Why is it not featured?
and best of the best Honda NR 750.
Em-phasis on the wrong Silables.

MV Agusta was the first with an inline four of 600cc.
Japanese.?
MV Agusta is Italian
I guess I need to do a little Internet search. I need to find out if the MV Augusta was mass produced with the same in-line for cylinder transversely managed single overhead cam engine. Perhaps it had two cams. I’m about to find out.
All MV Agusta's of the sixties were rare and very expensive. So you see these classics rarely on the road.
Kawasaki gpz 900 r never ever Had more than 125 HP...surely Not...!!!😮😊

First year Z-1 1973 NOT 72
This is just one persons opinion. And not many would totally agree.
If this is it, than you've jyst confirmed why they copied about everything from the Italian manufacturers soon or later.
The sound track for this video is painful to hear why can't people just speak properly
you forgot 500cc Suzuki Gamma
No Suzuki Katana 1100????
No Yamaha vs 650
