The actress who played Emma left the show. Since Emma was gone, they sort of let her boyfriend vanish off the face of the earth. They created the character Bella to replace Emma (and Bella's backstory really is that she became a mermaid in a moon pool in Ireland when she was like 10.) And then they created the boyfriend character Will to pair with Bella.
H2O is an Aussie filmed show - our public schools dont do the cap & gown thing (our universities do and maybe the bougie private schools). Honestly the weird thing is why aren't they wearing the everyday school uniforms - All Australian schools typically have a uniform requirement unlike American schools that do free dress all the time.

Honestly, I wouldn't call these the best episodes. My fave season finale is S1 E26. (it and 25 are kind of a two-parter) I find it more "believable" even for a magical mermaid story than these two you've seen.

As every early 2000s Aussie show did this 😭 the girls were gorgeous & the boys were cute but it’s like the purposely picked mid ones to put more focus on the girls. Great marketing if you ask me.
