  • North Country Dodge in Arab, Alabama is the latest dealership to get hit by a very organized ring of car thieves. They stole 8 cars worth 1.2 million dollars to include a Demon 170, a Jeep Wagoneer, and a Ford Bronco Raptor. This looks like a scene right out of the movie "Gone is 60 Seconds". The FBI and local police are still looking for the suspects. If you have any information please contact Arab police at (256)586-8124.

    A lot of trap music glorifies hellcats. Also, if your security footage is only on premise then that's your own fault imo. 3-2-1 data backup rule for life. 3 copies, 2 onsite in different media, and 1 offsite in cold storage or in the cloud. I'm surprised dealerships aren't putting air tags in cars at this point. At least the super expensive cars.

    RacerX... just to help prevent someone being sensitive in some weird way, it's pronounced "Ay-rab" or "ey-rab", and not the typical way you would read the word as if you were using it to describe the Middle East. It was actually named Arad after Stephen Tuttle Thompson's son in 1857 when he built a house there in 1857 and established the first post office in 1882. When he sent the establishment letter in, his son Arad's name was misread as 'Arab' with a b, but pronounced with a long A. No big deal, I've just seen people blow up saying ignorant things about the town calling it racist when they've seen what it's name is without understanding the history and how the postal service goofed. Thanks for bringing it to light. A few have been recovered, but not many. Have a good weekend!

    • @-ved89
      @-ved89 12 дней назад

      Unless they have an iphone that tells them they’re being tracked. Airtags are good but easy for them to find. What I did is used airtags as a decoy and installed a better GPS tracker in a way where Car parts have to be taken off to find it.

    • @me-tx2ws
      @me-tx2ws 12 дней назад

      @@-ved89 if the AirTag is hidden well which is extremely easy to do it doesn’t matter if their iPhone tells them there is a tag in the car. If they can’t find it they can’t find it. Secondly if the thieves know the car is being tracked they are much more likely to ditch it before inflicting major damage and stripping it. Hell it might even be wise to post a “ this car is tracked by GPS” sign on the car.

    Bad situation, I don’t drive my 18” demon much since I feel like it will be gone if I leave it unattended for more than 5 minutes

    I’m sure the local police are on it. Oh wait, they are too busy sitting on the side of the highway waiting for you to go 5mph over the speed limit. 👍 I just passed a cop sitting in a ditch on the side of the road hard at work watching something on their phone.

      I had a job once that dealt with money. A week after I left they had an inside job theft. Because of the timing I got brought in for a polygraph. I had nothing to do with it. Never heard the outcome of the incident

    This sound way to complex for normal thieves and just so happens dodge can't sell these cars so who would want to steal them? Sounds like a inside job for a insurance claim

    So, on another note, RacerX, what's the status of your Demon 170. It's been over a week. Surely, the dealer must have an update on what went wrong?

    Bottom line is, if these dealers really cared they’d keep their most valuable inventory behind lock and key… like 10’ fencing with razor wire. Otherwise they simply don’t care. Beyond that, you can speculate anything you want regarding the nature or motivation of the heist. I’d be surprised if a lot of these aren’t indeed inside jobs, where some lowly runner guy tips off his buddies on how to get in and where the keys are. And everyone knows how easy these cars are to steal… and that’s WITHOUT a full bag of keys, which these guys easily gained access to.

    Hey RacerX get IGLA installed on your Demon 170 and you can leave it anywhere you want with the key sitting on the seat and it will still be there when you come out.
