This is a perfect watch in so many ways: 1. as you said, it looks fresh 2. it changes the "moonwatch" without changing it (can´t find the right words, but its still a moonwath, but not in the same way) 3. i dont struggle anymore! I wanted a moonwatch, but loved the saphire back. But then it´s not the historical correct moonwatch. I loved the hesalite, but it makes me fear to distroy it when accidentally hitting a wall or sth like that. NOW I can say: I buy the white dial with the saphire back and at some time the black "historical correct" moonwatch with steel caseback and hesalite in addition :D. 4. Buying both versions makes you have a small and great collection! And maybe one time I will have the luck to be able to get a snoopy as a third part of my personal Moonwatch collection
I love the open case back. It’s one of my favourite things about my Planet Ocean. I’m seriously considering this version of the Speedmaster as my next watch. Awesome piece
Never owned a speedy but the 3861 was already on my list. Now there’s a new plan…a used 1861 to put on a nato strap, new 3861 white on bracelet. Black and white / strap monster and bracelet beauty. Great review
I dont see it replacing the black one since thats such an icon, but the white dial really is stunning and keeps the astronaut vibe faithfully. Beautiful piece

Still waiting for these to arrive in Australia. Each Omega Boutique only has one exhibition piece and the have been massive queues of people coming to look at it. Omega has a hit on their hands here. Now all they need to do it release versions of the Speedmaster Moonwatch with dial colours that match their Seamaster Professional 300m Diver. I'd do almost anything for a Speedy with a Seaweed dial like my SMP.
First great video. Second, the white dial is great. Still very classic. But I haven’t heard many reviewers talk about how the black dial still seems to have more depth. The sub-dials seems to be much more visible on the black. Whereas the white is fairly flat in most angles. No??
I got the white one while on vacation. Just lucky I guess. It’s quite beautiful. It was my first Omega. I’m surprised how light the watch is. Quite comfortable as well.
I love that Super White Dial. I'm a date on dial watch man but that looks so good I would compromise it not having the date window. Perfect companion to my grey/blue dial Seamaster 300M
I like it just about as much as the black Speedmaster. That is to say that I like it and would wear it, but when it comes to my own money I doubt I'd prefer this over other offerings in the price bracket. I own a black dial Co-Axial, cal. 3861 hesalite version on the bracelet. It’s a Speedy that’s been my grail. I was finally able to buy last year after 8 years of longing. I’d go for the same option over black or white sapphire. White dial with appliqué indexes looks more refined and premium. Maybe even a bit dressier, except for the red accents. A few interesting bits: a. Lume is way better on black dial. There’s just more of it :) b. No hesalite with white dial. c. Two new straps were released along with white dial. A black leather rally strap and a black rubber strap. Noone seems to talk about it. Also no hands on reviews of the straps. For me Speedy works best on the bracelet. But it’s a strap monster regardless of the dial.
In the side by side with original 1:34 it looks like the white dial is less legible. I can’t see the subdial markers on the white dial (watching on phone) while the subdial markers are crystal clear on the black dial. Maybe needed to make them a bit darker (bolder) on the white dial. Can’t wait to see one in the metal.
Wait, they made it in white after only 67 years??!! I'm not sure how to handle this. They made the exact same watch...but in white, which is the opposite of black! Is this even legal? Did they have to hire an entire design team to come up with this? Mind. Blown!

I love it, I think Omega should make less variations and just come out with subtle but noticeably different Speedy’s and Seamaster’s like this. I do still prefer the black dial professional though.

Ahh, so Omega has started marketing directly with RUclipsrs now? That explains the hype around the white Speedy. If you happen to have any connections at Omega, could you pass along a suggestion? I’d love to see them bring back something like the Schumacher or Old Racing models or the 57 model released in 2013-specifically a 40mm, tri-compax automatic (but not the Reduced, Moonphase, or current '57 models). Manual movements are great, but they’re just not for me. I often forget to wind it every other day and then find myself searching for my phone just to check the time. And in a corporate setting, especially during meetings, checking your phone for the time can come across as rude or make you seem less serious and the best way is to subtly glance at your wrist! Thus my wait for a Panda Daytona still continues... Can you imagine Omega do not have an offering that competes with Panda..?
Until now I have neither understood nor wanted a Speedmaster or indeed any other Omega. This watch changes everything. I have already contacted a dealer and am hoping for a positive response soon.
This is the first (And Only) watch that I will end up owning both dial colour variants....The original Black dial in Hesalite becuase thats what the Astronauts had, And to have the text on the back "Flight Qualified by NASA in 1965 for all manned space missions. The First watch worn on the moon. ........ And then the White dial because, well because of that beautiful white dial! and the fact it has a see through caseback so I get to see that beautiful movement!......Well played Omega!!
Cool review and I love the new Speedy, but it does not look like it sits comfortably on your wrist. Did you not get it adjusted to your wrist-size or does it sit like this? looks unbalanced for some reason. Or is the watch too big?

Interesting point on Omega's note of WR 50m. Do you think the watch can survive a dive as most modern speedy owners would only go as far as swimming/snorkeling
I asked this question and the manager even said that if it gets any water damage, they'll fix the watch, no question (as long as it's under warranty). But he did say that as long as the crown isn't pulled out, feel free to swim and snorkel with it, as it has been properly pressure tested. But you can double check with your local Omega AD as well ☺️
Not sure why people want to do everything with every watch. It's like saying I want pants to go swimming with. Just wear a dive watch. Doesn't make sense of testing water resistance when there are purpose built watches you don't have to worry about. My two cents.
WR is one of the METAS tests. Ao each Master Chronometer, cal. 3861 Speedies included, is tested accordingly to the standard. That said I wouldn’t intentionally swim or dive with my Speedy. If you want to get any watch near water get it pressure tested each year. Crown must be fully pushed or screwed. Using chronograph under water is out of question.
People receiving this watch have posted pics of the coffin. They’re dated 2022. Interesting they started to make these 2 years ago. Also the wait list isn’t true. Omega boutique here in Canada has them readily available now
I think it’s a cool watch but it isn’t too special in the realm of omega. They have tons of speedmaster white dials. It’s nice, I’d wear it but wouldn’t wait for it.

Good video and a nice watch. A lot to like, really. But 50m, no micro adjust, no vertical clutch, no column wheel. Omega is selling pretty. And it IS pretty. But it should be much more.
In my opinion the Moonswatch has cheapend the Speedy. Imagine buying one of these and a member of the public telling you how much they like your Moonswatch. It would be heartbreaking.

This was on loan from Omega, so the bracelet wasn't adjusted. But once adjusted, it wears better. Although, still chunky on my 6.23 inch wrist.
