These clubs would benefit golfers of any age.

I think you are right, they can make golf so much easier. But it's like there is a stigma attached to Hybrid Irons. But over time I think more golfers will realise just how much they can improve and play better golf with Irons like the Cleveland Launcher XL. 👍Mike

Hi Mike, I’m 66 years old and have swing speed below 80 mph and I have these clubs. I recently shot 77 on my last golf trip.

Wow, they are nuts and are a wonderful solution for a lot of people. Sometimes you have to think outside the Box. 77 mmmm you must be a cunning auld fox......and or a very tasty golfer 😊👍

I think you nailed it with your opening comment about a wanting to knock the hell out of the ball when holding a hybrid iron. I just got my Halos recently and have only played 1 round with them, but hit them really well. I had been tentative with anything 6i and up, and therefore, my swing speed was lower. Once I was on the back 9 with my Halos, I felt like I could swing much faster. I went from carrying my 5i 150 to 170 by the end of the round. I think that had more to do with confidence in the club than the technology of the club.

The 7 and 6 iron in this set make the biggest difference for me.
The distances of all the other clubs were no different, but the 6 and 7 gained 10-15 yards each.

I have a set of Cleveland 588 Altitude an earlier iteration and i do find them extremely easy to use. You get used to the looks

I put 3 hybrids 16,19,22 degrees and 5 to pw in my bag best thing I've ever done

It's what makes golf so unique. Everyone is different and Everyone can be totally correct .............. for themselves 😂😂😂. Hybrids have really transformed amateur golf over the last 20yrs. But there are exceptions to every rule 😊 and I'm one of them. PW-4iron, 3 driving iron, 7 and 4 wood.
I did of course play Hybrids for years and they were perfect at the time.👍😊🤔Mike

Good luck with that question, no matter how many different ways you Google it, there is absolutely no answer on the entire internet.

I have the 8 to P. What a difference. It’s like cheating. I went from stiff flex to Reg flex. I have to slow down a little. But lost no distance. Almost impossible the shape. Very straight. I hit the 8 around 160 yards progressively down around 10 to 12 yard per club.

    • @MeteorGolf

It's not like cheating......it is cheating 😂😂. I love them. Especially for golfers, struggle for distance and height. You don't have those problems. Enjoy and maybe you can convert some more people. 👍😂Mike
P.s. The game is hard enough 😁

When you tested these were the carry distances consistent, and not to far apart

Here’s my rating of hybrid irons
Cobra t-rails hybrid irons 5/5 straight, high flight, max distance
Cleveland launcher 5/5 straight, high flight, max distance ( i pick these over the cobra due to the price point)

Wilson launch Pad 4/5 straight, high flight, distance not as far
Tour Edge 3/5 not as forgiving as the other brands. Your swing needs to be on point

Thanks for that. I tested your first two choices side by side with graphite stock shafts and I also thought they were both equally great and also fun.

Hi Mike, great video, thank you, and from a fellow Irishman! My WHI is now 11.3, as have dropped a whole 7 shots in last 3 months! I'm sure there are a few reasons for this, but I believe largely down to my use and love of hybrids! I have 3 Ping G425 hybrids, a 4H, 6H, and even a 7H, and love their workability! I even grip down to shaft on my 7H, for anything from 110 yards, so use my 9i and wedges very infrequently! I get loads of stick from my friends at my club, due to my reliance on hybrids!
I tend to 'shank ' my current Mizuno HMB irons, hence my reluctance to use them often, even for chipping lol!!! Could these hybrid irons give me the confidence to start using for full shots, even on wedges, or can these still be shanked lol??
My hope is that hybrid irons might actually give me the confidence to start playing them again? Are these similar then to Wilson's new Launch Pad 2 hybrid irons?
    Thanks in advance
    Andrew

Hi Andrew, so sorry for not replying sooner, but I'm back in action so the question is.....how are you getting on now. By the way I love the fact that you are doing what suits you and your game. Everyone is different and if you find a way to get a ball around a golf course, stick at it😊👍Mike

Hate to say this Mike. but those clubs look ugly. To quote a line in the Wolf of Wall Street. there a fat ladys shoe....I like Cleveland wedges but can't play a ulgy club...So that leaves a few other companies out...I do love my Mizuno 225 Pro and Hogan PTx Pro irons...Thanks...

I totally understand your opinion 😊 But I don't think you'd go climb a mountain in High Heels. Its hard to make beautiful irons for High handicappers. Even though the Mizuno JPX921 HM . Is about as close as it gets. Also if I was off a high handicap I'd rather have something that gives me confidence than an iron that too difficult but looks gorgeous. It's always horses for courses😊👍Mike

Yes but are they as ugly as the old Ping eye 2 beryllium copper irons? Those look like pigs ears.
