    I am all about easy clubs! As. 52 year old 4 handicap I play 4 hybrids (Ping) and my longest iron now is a strong lofted 9 iron. Now any short over 155 yards is hit with a hybrid. Never going back.

    Love those glide rails, they really work. Helps be agressive in hitting a bit down, improves turf interaction and or divots.

    I play the halo irons 5-SW. I usually only get to play about 6-8 times per year, so they really work well for me.
    I also carry a PXG driver and 7 wood (21*). Thinking about adding the Cleveland 3+ hy-wood this Spring for teeing off on tight holes and for second shots on par fives.

    Bought 3 & 4 Cleveland Hybrid from McGolf, they perform well, easy to hit.

    That's a great test. I have 3+wood the max I can hit is 200-210. And its super consistent (straighter for me than you) so based on this it may be the shaft that's holding it back.

    I have the HALO 5W ( 240-220 yards , 7W ( 220-190 yards) , 4 hybrid ( 200-180 yards) in the bag and like them. I don't think the have the technology of of the very latest and greatest clubs. But value for money and performance is fine for me being mid handicap. I use Cleveland wedges anyway so. Head cover and clubs are real quality. Very happy with the accuracy too.

      Do you have Launcher Halo XL or the new Full Face one? Can you describe in details what you like, dont like.

      @@RKCHUX I replaced my two year old halo xls with the brand new ones. I think the quiet difference is the stick shaft they use seems nicer. The full face is more confidence inspiring than practical. Meaning…. Unlike a wedge through thick rough, my iron shots are generally hit on the center of the face. I guess the best response is.. knowing what I know now, would I have bought the new version bs saving the money and keeping the old halo xls?? Yes

      @@jcjbike Hey! Thanks for the reply. I just bought a set of the previous version... I thought to myself that the previous version was good enough for me. Better save the money. I m not a very good player and I know I don't need the latest n the greatest.
      Anyways, any advice for a newbie like me who will be using the previous gen XL halos soon? I know they r different to the traditional Irons so any advice would be appreciated. Btw, I have bought an entire new set (Driver, 3W, 3+HyWood, 4H, 5i-9i, PW, DW, SW and a Smart Sole 58*).

      @@RKCHUX I would take last year's model over anything else. I have the 4 iron in the bag. There isn't an iron set available today where I would even consider playing a 4 iron. I would be $5 that if every average golfer who went into a golf store to try clubs, these would sell as much as any other iron set. Are there those people who fall for the branding and think "I have to have callaway or taylormade... no way can I play anything less known," absolutely. But these just get a better flight, especially on shots when my swing isn't perfect.

    How do the Halo XL compare to the TM Qi?

  • @pgowan357
    @pgowan357 4 месяца назад +1

    How does that 7 iron feel? I don't mean compared to a forged iron but say to a good cast iron? I have hit a few shots with a cheaper Ram version of this type of club and there was dead feel. The result was ok and I think for the type of player they are made for the visual feedback might be enough. Just wondering if this cleveland lacked in that area.

    Hi Jim have played Cleveland Hybrid set for a few years now like them but hoping to get into the Wilson Dynapower forged irons if or when they are released do you know anything about them happy Golfing from Downunder love your golf club build videos

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  4 месяца назад

      The Wilson club is going to be very good. It will have less offset than the halo iron and will appear taller at address. The sole will still wider than average. I expect it to do well

      Don’t see any irons other than a few blades with less offset than the Halo irons. Am I missing something ?

    fwiw the Hywood 3+ with Tensei Blue 55R shaft is magic for me. Straight and as long/longer than any 3W-7W that I tried. Oddly enough the driver in the same shaft didn't really work for me. Go figure...

    Considering a hywood. I had a callaway super hybrid. My good shots were great. My bad shots were ob. Would you say the hy wood would keep the ball in play more on mishits?
