- It's October which means that Halloween is just around the corner and with all of the entries in the film franchise to choose from, we decided to focus on a fan favorite. So come join us as we take on Michael's third outing (the fourth in the series!) with "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers."
WATCH OR OWN THE FILM HERE: amzn.to/3FDOTG8
SERIES SYNOPSIS: Ahhh the 80's. A simpler time where the blood ran red, the tits swung freely, and the weed was copiously smoked. A time where rampant killers were simply excuses for excessive sex and over the top murder. Yes, we're looking at an era where the slasher movie ran wild over cinemas everywhere. Today, we're looking at "Real Slashers."

The scene where Dr. Loomis gets picked up by the preacher and drives him into town while talking about cutting down damnation in all its forms was my favorite scene in the movie.
Same, that old preacher was awesome.
Yea you get the sense he is actually seen some shit, or he is on his way to his own story.
Funny enough the preacher was the hobo from Peewee's big adventure. For me it's that scene and when Loomis starts screaming "Noooo! Noooo! no! nooo!" while pointing a gun at Jamie Lloyd.
It's the wee smile loomis gives him lol best buds
Same.
Halloween 4 is one of my favorites & it's essential TV viewing anytime it comes on AMC's Fear Fest. What it lacks in some of the more obvious aspects (the mask not being quite right, "teleporting" during the truck scene, etc) it more than makes up for in atmosphere & genuine scares. I mean, the cold, isolated feeling of the opening title sequence really sets everything off.
I was around the age of Danielle Harris' "Jamie" the first time I saw it, so the fact a large part of the story is from her POV made it relatable. How would you get away from this unstoppable force as a 9 or 10yr old kid? The thought of it is like a nightmare come to life.
I actually like Halloween 4 the best. I used to rent this movie and Friday the 13th 6 together. Also my fav in that series.
The dog sh!+ kid ones…
Jason Lives is my favorite of the series...it's just fun
@@deadschooled What?
I like how they completely ignore Michael being shot in both eyes at the end of Halloween 2. I guess he's a blind swordsman in H4. lol. Regardless of that Halloween 4 has some fun moments throughout and I appreciate it's fun festive Halloween aesthetic/atmosphere all while having that common 80's slasher vibe to it as well. But in the end as a whole, it just doesn't work as well as it should've.
It wasn't Loomis that shot his eyeballs out. It was Sharpshooter teen Strode who is such a sharpshooter she managed to shoot twice perfectly though the eye holes in the mask. Obviously with magical bullets that once they poked his eyes out, stopped moving instead of going through his brain...
Combined with his obvious Deadpool healing factor that grew his eyes back perfectly functional in that 10 years.
@@lutherheggs451 You and Stuntman Marq win Movie Critics of the Year.
That always bothered me his eyes were shot and he was roasting at the end of 2.

Halloween 4 is the first Halloween movie I ever saw!!!! It will always be special to me.
I know I'm biased but I think this is one of the best slasher flicks of the 80's. Great movie and I love the opening credits, makes you feel like you in for a creepy movie.
Same, I just saw a vhs tape titled “Halloween” and thought it was one of our home movies, boy was I wrong 😂
Halloween 4 is The Most Badass and Great 80s horror Sequel that I really loved and it's definitely my all time favorite Halloween movie next to Original, Part 2, & Part 3, this movie Kick a lot of Ass!!!!
This movie scared the shit out of me when I was little I was like Jamie's age and blown away that he was hunting a little kid it was so scary lol
Same!!!
I just wished they'd have taken more care about the mask. But that's certainly not the only time that the series has pissed about with one of the most important factors of the franchise.
I love that scene in the gas station where Loomis first sees Michael. There is one shot where you can see a picture of Abraham Lincoln, 16th US President, behind Dr. Loomis. It's like the movie is saying Loomis is as important as Abraham Lincoln.
Yes, that's exactly what the movie is saying.
Well Lincoln couldn't survive as much as Loomis and he fought both Zombies and Vampires
Bro there is like 20 pictures of him it’s stupid how many pictures there are
@@hdofu this is true!
Both great Americans..
I actually have fond memories of watching the Halloween movies on AMC as a kid. I love 4 because of that.
10:01 I remember pausing that scene with Kathleen Kinmont on the sofa constantly lol
I didn't like this one as a kid cause I thought the mask looked stupid, however it has grown on me immensely just like Season of the Witch. Just a shame part 5 couldn't follow up as well.
I like this movie so much more if the mask was good. The mask for me still ruins the movie
@@iGuardian92 You win Movie Critic of the Year.
5 is substantially better than 4.
Watched this properly for the first time last night. Loved it. The second best in the series perhaps. Donald Pleasance was mega!
My favorite death scene in the whole Halloween franchise is from H4, the death scene of Brady always gives me the chills. I love the pick up fight, how the sheriff shoots at Michael Myers and he's taken down like a true titanic. And the ending.... the ending of H4 is one of most shocking ones in the franchise.
This is no joke my favorite Halloween movie. When that little kid has to express terrified I believed her!
One funny thing though, is she go's trick or treating with the same kids that made fun of her at the school earlier
Easily the best sequel including the new trilogy were in the middle of, an absolute masterpiece and I love it, shoutout to the mask it's excellent
Halloween 4 is by far my favorite sequel
@@111highgh well, that first one was good.
I was around jamies age when I first saw this. It was a late night double bill with aliens. I was petrified as my father was asleep and mother was working a night shift. One of my favourite childhood memories!
I rented this one and part 5 alot as a kid,it had some pretty decent kills,he started getting jason level strength here, when he twisted that one guys neck that was driving the pick up at the end, that was brutal
You win Movie Critic of the Year.
@@111highgh thanks i actually have a channel where i review films so love your compliment
Well one thing is movie did show is that basically Dr. Loomis much like Michael Myers is explosion-proof. And they also should have continued the story that they hinted to at the end of this movie.
In the script there was a scene where it explains that Loomis was blown out of the room away from the fire
H5 would have been AWESOME with Jamie as killer..they could have gone back to Michael in H6.
This still is my favorite Halloween movie..
I watch this movie at least 28 times every fall.
I will always go to bat for Halloween III: Season of the Witch!! I love that movie!
As a kid, I hated the mask so much in Halloween 4 that I scoffed at the film. It wasn't until a few years ago when I started listening to the Halloween 4 soundtrack to get me into the Halloween/Autumn mood that I learned to appreciate it. Now, I can live with the mask lol Good movie, I have it on vhs 📼 Happy Halloween 2021 till eternity 🎃
To me, the shitty mask is just part of the charm at this point.
😂 you’re right!! Plus, they show Michael grabbing that new mask off the wall in the film so it makes sense!
My favorite part of Halloween 4 is the very opening, with the credits placed over one of the creepiest scenes: early-American folk Halloween decorations, worn and tattered and attached to old and broken down faded farm implaments.
Strange and creepy, the movie transfers to the ambulance that will take Michael far away from Smiths Grove. This opening shot, and the descent into the hellish madhouse would make James Whale green with envy!
I can only listen to the videos as I drive my route but your voice makes these videos ....I love it ..
I love the intro to this movie. I play it every Halloween. Very creepy.
I wanna like this video, but the narrator has the amount of enthusiasm a snail does when it crosses the road. Good lord.
One of the better sequels in the franchise to bad in part 5 they messed it up by adding the man in black and killing off Rachael 20 minutes in the movie
This movie was possibly my favorite Halloween, so classic.
I like this film for what it is. My only flaw along with Michael being a ninja under the truck would be how he and other characters “just appear” at the right time throughout the film
This one is my favorite of the series (outside of the original). It's moody and dark, and Danielle Harris was an excellent lead.
4 & 5 are horribly underrated. They make a good two part story arc. It's a shame every reboot has chose to ignore them. I believe there's room for both stories in one universe.
4-5-6 are basically a trilogy, except for the horrible sin of how they treated Danielle and her character in 6
It’s to start a new story most of the time that they are ignored so the franchise can be new again. Or it’s just too much explaining in a new movie to get out of the way.
“The town Militia”, AKA - Halloween Kills
Movie Critic of the Year.
@@111highgh You're the repetitive comment of the year. 🙄
That blonde Michael was Ben Tramer getting his revenge on Dr Loomis for getting him killed!
Still a good sequel to Halloween 2, I enjoyed it as a kid and i still do now.
A few nit picks like Jamie having a picture of Michael in the clown suit and picks the same one and the whole teleportation thing at the end and the driver not looking back at the murder's behind him but it's a good film none the less
It's crazy how terrifying the first movie still is after all these years. I wish directors would use there brains. Where does it all go wrong? Someone should make a scene-by-scene remake of the original. I'd watch it. Blasphemy?
Nostalgia... It's the only explanation for so much love towards this movie. For myself, I wish we could have gotten the anthology idea following H3. H4 is ok just because is a lazy retread of the original. But given the sequels that followed, it ends up looking good by comparison.
Just watched the 4K Scream Factory Edition. The best version hands down. I loved this movie
HALLOWEEN 4: The Return of Michael Myers is the absolute BEST out of the entire series.
This script was written in 11 days and is 10,000 times better than Halloween Kills which had a one year delay.
Exactly. 11 days vs. 356+ days and Halloween Kills had shit dialog and shit plot.
Two epic trolls.
@@111highgh No, people are not trolls for simply preferring one thing over something you like.
@@zufgh You win the award for Movie Critic of the Century.
@@JasonHauser125 You win the first annual Gene Siskel Award.
I appreciate your videos. Keep doing what you're doing as long as you can stand it
I love Halloween 3.
My absolute favorite! Does it have flaws? Sure, but what horror movie doesn’t? I stand by that this is the best horror sequel ever. This movie has a little bit of everything. Did they screw up the potential with Halloween 5? Yep. But I love this movie and always will. Special place in my heart. Nothing ever beats the opening credits scene. So simple, so beautiful, and so creepy.
Halloween 4 was very good, but made several key mistakes that 5 corrected. Halloween 5 served to REDEEM 4...4 is a much better movie because of what 5 came along and did later...
Michael Myers stay returning!
Still the best Myers sequel. Real halloween fans love 4.
You win the Roger Ebert Award.
Real Halloween fans don’t acknowledge the “brother/sister” subplot.
@@07foxmulder you really don't like jamie&Rachel. I just don't know how that's possible.
@@07foxmulder You are the new winner of the Roger Ebert Award.
As a real fan this movie is not good
Other than the original this is the only one that feels like takes place on Halloween, the opening shot feels like its Fall in a small town. The other movies don't translate visually as well this installment.
I believe Halloween Ends is out in 2022. Hopefully it is.
Joblo you kick ass man love your videos. Consistent asf
Michael looks like Pat from Saturday night live in this
The Michael Myers truck scene still blows my mind till this day. Like how an the hell!!! Did he get on that truck like no way was that possible.
Brady, best "last stand" of any Halloween victim.
11 days? That's nuts.
The opening of Halloween 4 is pure autumn atmosphere. A cold and biting wind. A large shed that offers no shelter. A rotting Jack o lantern with a razor sharp axe. A dusty and dirty ghost decoration. Open fields where nobody can hear you cry or scream.
Beautifully said. I love that opening, too.
It's been a long time since I've seen this one, but I always did like it. I'd rank it 4th in the franchise behind 1, 2, and 2018
2018 is the bizarro opposite of a horror movie. It’s the worst entry in the genre in the history of cinema. Please stop watching or get some kind of taste….
@@deadschooled Thanks for your thoughtful and eloquent input. I’ll make sure to only watch movies you approve of from now on
@@deadschooled question do you like 4 ?
I don't care what people say I like this movie
I love the halloween series and it's one of my favorite slasher's. I think halloween 1 and 2 are great horror film's. Halloween 3 is pretty good I think it's very entertaining and interesting. Halloween 4 was a pretty good sequel. I think 5 is a decent sequel and it has it's moment's. Halloween 6 is ok but it's not my favorite sequel in the series. H20 was a pretty decent halloween sequel in my opinion. I thought halloween resurrection wasn't that great though. Rob zombie's remake was actually pretty decent and it's sequel wasn't bad either. I think halloween (2018) was really good and halloween kill's was pretty good as well.
The part where Michael Myers appears to be blonde is CLEARLY a cameo by the ghost of Ben Traymor 🤣🤣🤣
A lot better than Halloween Kills, that one was too dumb yet it took itself seriously.
Evil Dies Tonight.....
BEST Halloween Movie & Sequel
I’ve seen this part of Halloween, it’s pretty good
I love the mask in 4, I always thought it looked good and liked it clean and new looking.
It's the holiday season.
It's the holiday season.
And uppee doo, and bipadee bop.
A good old neck peel, LMAO! Thanks for that!!!
Halloween ends is supposed to come out Oct 14 2022
H4 and H5 were good movies. Loved them
When Michael climbs on the back of the truck. The skinny vigilante guy just stands there! He looks forward as the two big fat guys tries to fight Michael. How didn't he hear anything? Even the one fat guy just sat there looking forward while he climbed up there.
I enjoyed Halloween IV when it was released, and several times since...
you know it won't really ends with Halloween Ends
It’ll just end THIS timeline.
Halloween will go on…
My fave film in franchise
Part 4 was very good i still think the ending with jamie still is one of the creepiest endings. This is often compared with halloween 2 as the best sequal. Thats hard to imagine but it is.
The 4k shoutfactory version also shows the use of blue lighting to be creepy fir haddonfield. U def see that plus the killer 7. 2 dolby atmos sound eadily is the best of the best. Is it better than part 2? No but the creepy ending makes it almost as good
Mind. Blown. For 30 years she's been the chocolate-chip off-the-block Satan Claus loving kid with Bruce Willis' Last Boycott winning personality Wow.
That mask is just unforgivable
I think they're trying to say that he held onto the underside of the truck. I don't know if it's high enough off the road.
Danielle Harris is AMAZING in this movie.
The Night He came Home .......... AGAIN. 🎃🗡️
“Almost like she’s a good person or something” lol
Halloween Ends in 2024? That can't be right.
Probably the only Halloween movie ever where Michael used a gun, not to shoot but to impale instead.
Halloween Ends will have a three year in-movie jump, but will come out October 2022
At what point do we get the iconic mirrors shot?...........I just watched H4 again for the first time since the 80s and didn't see it.
I really enjoyed this. most underrated in the franchise. only thing I disagree on what you said is how Loomis is treated. the head doctor treating him bad makes sense as he (the head doctor) is a moron and doesn't grasp what Michael is. Plus the sheriff actually does treat him with respect and accepts what he is saying and wants to know what to do to stop Michael
This is when the series started to jump the shark at least with Myers anyway.
Cause its so much different than the last movie where not only was he blown up in an explosion WITH Loomis...But also Sharpshooter Strode, shot both of his eyes out, with special bullets obviously that just poked his eyes out and stopped without going through his brain.
With all the farting on about how Michael is a normal guy with nothing supernatural about him, he clearly has Deadpool's healing factor since he grew both of his eyeballs back over that 10 years.
nah that was 5
You mean Halloween 6 "Cursed the Pumpkin."
McElroy did as a writer in 11 days what David Gordon Green and Danny McBride couldn't do in 4 years. Let that sink in.
This & poltergeist 3 are beat for beat the same movie
the hockey pads pushing up on the bottom of the neck of the mask is the main reason it looks so odd
The blonde mask was Ben Tramer from Halloween 2 getting his revenge on Loomis.
I love Halloween 4. To bad Halloween 2018 & Halloween kills can't come close to this movie
Halloween 4 :the revenge of data from star trek Lmaoo
Some say this film is cheap looking and a generic 1980s slasher, I have disagreed with this statement so much because this film has great atmosphere with some smart characters, awesome soundtrack, creative kills, and an inspiring ending that will never happen despite how good it is
Great video
H4 is the best film in the series
Fantastic job buddy.
Thanks 👍
I’d watch any halloween movie if its spooky seeezon
I think they should have used a highly realistic William shatter mask. That would have been funny.
Michael myers pulled this guys neck off Damn
A 'simpler time?' That's one way to describe it. I think a better way would be to refer to it as a less pretentious time. People made the movies they wanted to make, or the movies audiences wanted to SEE. Not like now, when nobody will make a respectable slasher movie anymore because they're scared to death of being mocked in a Geico commercial.
There’s even a scene where he’s randomly blonde 👱 😂 The opening credits are some of the best in film 🎞️. The rest of the movie, well let’s just say DH is terrific, MM is scary and the rest is Oscar worthy compared to the rest of the Thorne trilogy.
Id rather a mehhh-ish horror movie almost on an annual basis like old friday the 13th's etc, than wait 10 years between movies like jason goes to hell and freddy vs jason for a SUPER MEH movie, they should have a horror animated universe on the side like DC/Marvel just for a fan stroke inbetween feature films
Oops... 2022 for Ends, not 2024. ;) I knew what you meant though.
Come on, Michael was clearly holding on to the bottom of truck
They SHOULD HAVE
waited until 2024 and came up with something better than what we got with Ends
Rushed efforts really show in this series (H5 and Ends im referring to you)
