I watched Fawlty Towers clips yesterday and thought that was the best British comedy. Now I'm watching this it's a close call and I'm not sure! Great writing and acting by everyone. I'm 53 and in the UK and I've seen a lot of comedies but OFAH is way way up there for me. Cheers for sharing.
I love how the first time Trigger calls Rodney Dave, the audience don't laugh. Blink and you miss it moment. Yet later on in the series, it leaves the audience in stitches. That's how you know when you've got a good running gag.
John Sullivan said in a 2002 interview, that the reason that Trigger calls Rodney 'Dave' originally was because Trigger didn't know Rodney's name. I think John Sullivan decided to keep it going to get the comedy and it never got boring for the audience. Everywhere that Roger Lloyd Pack went in real life, somebody would shout at him "Alright Dave". It became Roger Lloyd Pack's most famous catchphrase.
Best ever comedy sitcom. Was reluctant to go and see the musical show in the west end but oh boy wasn't disappointed it was fantastic best thing ever. Here's to the theatres reopening again soon and repeat from beginning to end of this classic show on TV. 🤞
They missed out the middle bit : " I thought it was supposed to have an electronic brain " " It has got an electronic brain, but it didn't think it would have the misfortune to fall into the hands of a Soppy Old Git who wanted to play bloody drafts on it! " 😆
As an Aussie I’m shattered I got onto It so late. Comedy these days it just doesn’t compare I watch the dvds religiously you should all do the same you plonkers
Just the greatest oat, my fav episode of them all was the 1 where Del makes Rodney red on a sun bed, and Rodney gets him back on the hang glider. There were funnier moments but overall tea for three for me 😂😅😊
@@willbaker6532 absolutely no way. Everything from the auction/marriage onwards is terrible. Just unrealistic tripe like Batman and Robin and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. And that Miami crap too was utter nonsense. I think the writing went downhill. Although stupid at times, the bar scene, chandelier, blow up dolls etc could happen to someone. Having a mafia lookalike want to kill you or having opera music ring in your ears when you see a kid that can't act and talks like Ali G isn't going to happen..
Del-Boy: "Well, I gotta admire your bottle Rodders. You've been in the business 5-minutes and you've already opened up a Spanish branch! 🤣🤣🤣 Del: "What's your partner doing now? Rodney: "We're 'finkin' of goin' into the self catering holiday trade. Del: "What? On £200 nicker? Rodney: "We're starting off in a small way Grandad:" What you got, a Wendy House? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's one of the best moments in series 1 for me !
After that unexpected huge laugh forever after the cast and crew would if there was a real funny bit say another dolls house moment cos no one expected such huge laughter moment. What a series, especially the specials over Christmas, were just the best the very best.
Del Boy: "You know my brother, Rodney, don't you" ?. "Trigger": "How you going, Dave" ?. Rodney: "Why do they call him Trigger, is it cos he carries a gun" ?. Del Boy: "No, it's cos he looks like a horse".
The one with the brief case combination I still don’t understand why they didn’t just destroy one of the briefcases they had 25 I’m sure they could’ve destroyed one to see the code
To open a combo set them all to 0 turn 1 then and vhsvk left right for movement if its the Sam as the end 0 it won't be 1 do this in till it moves left right then you will see if it's the first number I will move more left right. But a bike lock and learn...
