Batman as a kind of enduring spirit of justice that can never fully die is a really interesting and cool idea.
It reminds me of that one episode of Justice League where the team gets flung into Future Gotham to meet Old Bruce and Terry, and there’s that one exchange between the Batmen of different generations.
    Terry: “Things have changed.”
Young Bruce: “Are criminals still superstitious and cowardly?”

Can you do an video on Batman: The Brave and the Bold? It would be interesting to explore how that interpretation presents Batman as the ultimate figure of justice, often presenting the morals of the story through his actions then any lessons he learns. If you want more individual episodes to look at instead of watching an entire show (because who truly has the time?), I would recommend "Chill of the Night", or any of the generation focused episodes like "The Golden Age of Justice" and "Sidekicks Assemble". The show is just in love with the early satellite era of League and heroes as symbols that, while they are important for everyone, mean the world to children.

Another fun thing to remember when watching it was how they tried to merge the golden age, almost goofy Batman with the Dark Knight that he had become at that point.
I think the writers were mostly successful in that. It has an edge but still lighthearted enough to be a hero for the younger generation.

There are Four types of Batman and what differential them is how Batman psyche is defined:
Type 1: Bruce Wayne is the Mask and Batman is who he really is

    -DCEU Batman
    -The Dark Knight Returns
    -Batman:Brave and the Bold
    -Gotham

    -Injustice Batman
    -DCAMU Batman
Type 2:Batman is the Mask and Bruce Wayne is who he really is
    -Telltale Batman
Type 3: Both Bruce Wayne and Batman are masks worn by the broken little boy still stuck in that alley way
    -Nolan Batman
    -Arkham Batman
    -The Batman 2022
Type 4: Bruce Wayne and Batman are the same, the only difference being what name they use and what they wear, there is no mask or differing personality.
    -This(The Batman: 2004)
    -Schumacher Batman
    -Burton Batman
    -Batman 1966
    -Lego Batman(Lego Movie universe)
    -Jensen Ackles/Long Halloween Batman

Something I think is interesting about Batman, and this is more overt in some of the Else World stories, is Bruce, as Batman and Bruce, is a crystallization of the concept of Noblesse Oblige; which literally translates to Noble Obligation, it's a philosophy, mindset, and code of principles that states that those in positions of power are under the obligation to help protect and assist those in less-fortunate positions than themselves. The Noblesse Oblige is expressed in plenty of fictional characters, Batman being among the best examples, in my opinion, but you hardly hear about how people in the real world have also taken to this philosophy.

The Batman is my answer to the edglords who go:
"Bruce Wayne is just as guilty for Gotham's problems because he only uses his money to buy gadgets designed to put people into a coma rather than actually helping people by donating his vast fortune to help eliminate the cause of all the crime to begin with- poverty."
Very few iterations of Batman- at least in animation and film, have put any emphasis on Bruce's charity work and focused mainly on the "play boy" persona, but out of them all, The Batman is the only one I know of where Bruce takes a strong interest in donating back to the community and to focus on charity work- even BTAS didn't have episodes where Bruce was focused on donating to charity or raising money even as a background plot point. Don't get me wrong, there were episodes in BTAS or films like The Dark Knight trilogy where he would talk about Wayne Industries working on some "revolutionary" product but it was always a commodity or a technological advancement that would benefit the private sector and not the actual people of Gotham.
The Batman is the only irritation of Batman in animation and film where Bruce goes through character growth within the series that causes him to drop the "play boy" top 1% persona and really emphasize how his money and company could benefit the people of Gotham- not JUST the Batman. That was one of things that always peaked my interest with the series- that and the banging theme song in the early seasons (the new theme song in the later seasons sucked ass).

I think what Artifacts tells us is how no matter we change, there will be some things that remain the same. The battle between good and evil is eternal, there can never be a true victor.
Mr Freeze is the physical manifestation of Evil while Batman is the spiritual side of Good. While Mr Freeze is physically present but Batman is everywhere even when he's long dead.

Hey, Implicitly Pretentious. Great video and awesome that you just reaffirmed my personal favorite Batman despite not seeming much of the show.
This version of the character I feel is the closest to my personality, bit more cheery and bubbly at times without fully loosing himself to the darkness so to speak. Helps me come to grips with the emotions I feel and how it seems like they prevent me from being more "serious", professional or to actually get the job done. Helps me feel like I don't need to lose myself in the darkness that I often face...
But for the love of gods the music that comes in around the later half of case study 2 (around the 4:58 mark) REALLY fucks with me man. Possibly keep it lower or use something different? I apologize if I sound really rude but it was like taking mental or psychic damage. Still proud of what you did for the rest of the video and wish you well! 😊

I adore this version of Bruce, because he is so warm. I believe that no, Bruce Wayne isn’t completely a mask here - PUBLIC Bruce Wayne is, but not the Bruce that is in private with Alfred, with Dick. There’s a big difference. In this series Bruce is just a kind man who wants to do good, as Batman AND as Bruce Wayne. A lot of attention is brought to his affairs specifically as Bruce who always, at every opportunity, tries to help raise money for something important, like children’s hospital etc., and he IS passionate about it, not just for front and not just for the memory of his father, but because he likes to help, he wants to help. He takes Dick in without any hesitation, because he again sympathizes and wants to help and he is very warm with Dick always, even if he can’t always be present as Bruce Wayne.
In any other version of Bruce that I saw (except the Wayne family adventures on Webtoons) Bruce ALWAYS shows at every opportunity that his mission as Batman is his first concern. Like, he shows it really coldly and mercilessly. He is always portrayed like a child who never grew up and gotten over his parents’ deaths, who will never be allowed happiness. But here Bruce is over his tragedy, enough so that he smiles genuinely, he’s being happy, he helps other people by bringing joy and help in their lives. This is very fresh and very… human. He allows himself to be happy while still being Batman. So I would say that this version of Bruce Wayne (and Alfred, Alfred is just AMAZING in this show) is my favorite one. Only Artifacts paint him really out of character for this series, so I refuse to let Artifacts break this perfect fantasy for me🥲 Though I also would say that BTAS before redesign that great Bruce, but after… no, just no

I loved this version of batman. It’s because he isn’t defined by the tragedy of his parents. Yes it’s why he became the batman, but it didn’t drive him to the point where he pushed everyone who cares about him away. He didn’t keep alfried, dick, or barbra at arms length and tried to do everything alone. He understood over time that there are just somethings we can’t do alone. He even came to respect Nightwing and Oracle. I love this batman because unlike the normal iterations of batman we get these days, this bruce wayne had a life outside the cave and wasn’t a complete ass to his allies.

It's so weird to see a version of Batman who's usually very slim and sleek design wise be bulked up so much especially when he still has the youthful voice.

Every time I think of the episode I get so confused and slightly irritated with the fact that despite they would have news articles of the Waynes deaths and Batman sightings with dates & a 10+ year gap in a archive vault, the archivists seem to misidentify every bat family member. Especially when real life archivists do a more accurate job to identity with dna, local info and even dating historical events! It’s a huge nitpick I’ve had with this episode since it aired and my kid self was annoyed with it since 🤦🏻‍♂️
