And "I'm so disappointed in you" Superman was basically an unofficial member of the Bat family with Alfred being a father figure for them all from Bruce to Damian and even Clark. Aflred telling Clark he's disappointed in him hurt my soul 💔
And to make it heart breaking as well as cool, Alfred tells Clark "I'm so disappointed in you " right before Alfred beats him to a pulp. What makes it even more sad is you can see Clark, Superman, is sad and he doesn't even fight back. *Injustice Superman was hurt by Alfred's words...*
Without Alfred, Bats would have gone insane extremely easily. He'd be all alone in his quest, and wouldn't even adopt a Robin because he wouldn't know how to be a father. (Not that he knows normally but it wouldn't be an improvement) Alfred is the person who brings him down to earth, the one who reminds him he is still human, the man who is proud of him. Because in the end, Batman wouldn't exist without the villains, but he wouldn't exist without the everyday heroes either. Someone to aspire to, someone who would use their life for good if they were saved by the caped vigilante. Alfred is a driving force, and without him Batman is hollow man driven by grief.
Alfred Thaddeus Crane Pennyworth is, along with Jonathan and Martha Kent, the reason we have a DC Universe that's worth a damn. We owe those three big time. Thank you for making this video. It's one of my favorites.
One of my favourite details in any batman comic was Bruce going to a Batman themed burger joint and eating his burger with a knife and fork. That's what happens when you get raised by a butler.
From all your video essays, I'm lead to believe this Elseworld story is one of the most thematically rich and well written DC Comics story arcs in recent years and that's just surprising.
I bloody love Alfred ❤️ one of my favourite moments is when someone breaks into the batcave/wayne manor (can't remember which one off the top of my head) and he pulls out a shotgun and says "You may have relied on my masters vow against lethal force. I assure you I subscribe to no such niceties" 😂 as Aquaman said BADASS ALFRED ❤
He always finds a way to hit your heart... every time. I don't think that Batman would be near as good today's than without Alfred. I mean, I really like Batman, dont get me wrong. But Alfred is basically his moral compass, he makes the story feel more real.
Just finished it... Why the hell did you have to go and make me get tears in my eyes, then? Keep 'em coming, my friend. And thank you! Your insights and your channel are both awesome!
A perfect description of family being what you make, not just of the blood. I have a very strong family support that I made for myself, my main family being lost years ago. I lost my mother 20 years ago, and I lost my dad and daughter 9 years ago. My friends and their kids have become my family now, along with all the little ones my aunts, uncles, and cousins bring to this world. I can totally understand Alfred as a parent, even though he is not his bio dad. I like to think I try to live that example every day or my life.
I'll never read these comics cause I hate the old trope of "what if Superman becomes bad" cause in my thoughts, he'll always do good but anyways ya docs always bring a tear to my eye
try super man red son the comic super man is still trying to do good just with diffrent morals hes not “evil” but is diffrent i skipped the injustice books cause the same reason but red son is nice
In the DC Universe with how much bullshit power, technology, and inter-dimensional beings there are; Batman should be seeing his parents like one a week if he wanted.n
No doubt Alfred kicking the hell out of Superman is one of the main highlights of injustice Also when things like Bruce & Dick, Canary & Arrow, Renee & Batwoman, Booster Gold & Ted Kord and of course Bruce & Alfred; one thing the injustice comic writers seem to have gotten, it's the relationships between characters (Well most of them)
And then off camera, when Death came for Mister Sir Alfred Thaddeus Crane "The Goddamn Butler" Pennyworth, Mister Sir Alfred Thaddeus Crane "The Goddamn Butler" Pennyworth fired a warning shot into Death's face, gave Death a stern look, and Death left knowing better than to f*** with him a third time.
I've been wondering what's the song you have been using near the end of the video. Not the actual credits outro you do, but like right before with the piano and harmonica. Edit: Nevermind, credits said it was "Truth Be Told" by Miles Avida.
Batman didn't even have a Butler originally lol. You people are so easily lead and manipulated by bad fiction. Alfred didn't raise him until multiple retcons. Oh no the truth!
That really doesnt matter, by using your same logic, Batman no killing rule, Robin and alot of villains and characteristics later implamented into Batman that became a status quo for the character are just bad fiction to manipulates us
A lot of people are aware of this?? It's a good retcon my dude! It would've been really weird for him to not have a parental guardian otherwise through his upbringing, weirder still he immediately found a way to start his journey around the world training to be batman by 10 without anyone covering his tracks.
Injustice continues to be an excellent character study of the DC community. while knowing every nook and cranny of each hero isn't necessary, it definitely elevates the experience and let's you see deep into decades of established lore.
It doesn't matter where, it doesn't matter when, no matter who is part of the game,
Alfred is still always the best
And that is just a fact.
"You don't get to hurt my family anymore!"
And "I'm so disappointed in you" Superman was basically an unofficial member of the Bat family with Alfred being a father figure for them all from Bruce to Damian and even Clark. Aflred telling Clark he's disappointed in him hurt my soul 💔
Odd he never took that attitude to the joker who killed/crippled 2 of his “grandkids” and never thanked Clark for killing him 🤔
@christianm7250 when I have dementia? That’s the only reason anyone would think BatCuck is right. Glad superchad killed his 2nd dad lol
@christianm7250 very sad non argument, BatCuck fans still braindead as ever.

Alfred beating the crap out of Superman: easily one of the best DC scenes ever.

Superman, and most of the others, always treated Bruce as Batman first. Alfred has always been the one that saw him as Bruce first, Batman second.
This is true. Even Batman saw himself as Batman as his true identity rather than Bruce Wayne
@@dragonrider3137this is true he says that he calls himself batman in his subconscious in batman beyond

Alfred, the man, the myth, the legend
Alfred the man, the butler, the father.
You know it's one of the darkest histories when Alfred is this disappointed in Superman.
Alfred is literally the reason Batman when from leaving criminals with a million fractured bones to just about 5 if hes in a good mood lol
Alfred basically prevented Batman from becoming the Punisher and ripping teenagers apart for stealing a bag of milk.
An under appreciated character in the DC Universe!
What do you mean, everyone loves Alfred.
@@MBOmnis Not enough, we need to love him more
@@MBOmnisHe deserves infinite love, something we cannot give unfortunately
Alfred is literally the best Batman character. If you find someone who doesn't, RUN. They probably put their socks on before their pants or shirts.

I really hope you do DCeased too someday, I adored Alfred throughout the entire story

The biggest issue with that entire run is that Alfred could take Zsasz with his bare fucking hands; There is no way he comes out on top in that fight

Tom Taylor really does try to redeem Damian in the justice 2 run it’s a shame NRs writer seems to just hate Damian on principle

I haven’t got around to reading these comics yet, but the Tom Taylor & Bruno Redondo team on Nightwing is phenomenal, so I really should get on it.
I'm sitting here imagining Alfred in place of Fred Figglehorn in all his videos.
How horrifying
She believes in justice too
Beautiful
Now I wanna see Specter Alfred.
Alfred pennyworth.
a.k.a.
The mvp of the dc universe.
Thomas might be Bruce's father, but he wasn't his dad. Alfred was.
Alfred is my hero
Alfreds a gigachad.
Alfred solo's fiction, change my mind.
What about the mighty wizard mordred? His only weakness is getting buried alive, but no self respecting butler would make a mess with all that dirt!
Victor sazhs solo’s him easily
