I know I wished I would've found this a few days ago. My client had about 4' of regrowth of which I tried the ribbon method. Took a while and still didn't love the results. I did cover the base but I still saw the line of demarkation. I matched it well to her natural color, but I think I needed to go a tad darker to make it flawless? I used shades eq as she wants the option to go back blonde and permanent would be a hassle. Can someone recommend another demi or semi that would work well for the base & lowlights here as I"ve offered to go back and redo that which this technique is perfect for!
I have naturally curly hair. I ended up bleaching my entire head and didn't do a good job.. It ended up looking brassy yellow with orange at the roots. This video saved my hair!!! I used wella in medium warm brown for the roots and wella light warm brown for the lowlights. I used 10 developer for both. After washing it out, I toned my entire head with Ion Color Semi-Permanent Hair in Titanium/Gray (mixed with conditioner for ONLY 15 mins) to get rid of the brassiness in the light stands. The results look amazing and natural!!! Thank you for sharing your technique Alyssa!
SO thankful to have a video that shows how to go from blond roots to dark balayage technique. So many videos that already have dark roots. Very helpful great job.
This is beautiful! And, you are such a pleasure to listen to!!! I love that you don’t over over complicate your explanations and just babble on and on! Great work! Going to go find a person to try this on in what has always been my slow month.... March... ugh! Thanks for the inspiration!
I used this technique yesterday on a client with platinum blonde hair..it looked so good I used a warm base 6..the results were amazing thank you for the tutorial please do more! ❤️❤️
@@karenleeellis7565 , make sure you use a warm tint, or pre pigment your blonde you don’t want any greenish tones! I just used a nice warm tint looked great.
finally a balayage adding color not bleach! my hair is a light red right now and i want to add some brown to it to deepen it up.. totally using this technique.
This is truly amazing work. I have watched so many reverse balayage videos and this is by far the easiest to follow and the most beautiful result. Great work! 👌👌
I just used your method to dye a wig last night and i wanted to say thank you! It turned out beautifully and I was so scared I would ruin it because I have only done minimal highlights on my own hair. I love it so much.
You’re technique is amazing and can’t wait to try on my manechin head. I watched other videos with reverse balayage and yours is the best! Please continue to upload videos!! 🥰🤗
I LOVE this video. Like many others said, it’s truly the best video I’ve found in reverse balayage and is going to make my life so much easier! Thank you so much. Please make more videos, you are an excellent teacher 🥰.
I just wanted to thank you for making this video. I did my first reverse balayage (scalp bleach platinum blonde to a brown/Caramel) today using this technique and it came out amazing! 🙌 I was very nervous to do it before I watched this video. I went in with confidence and was so happy with the results! THANK YOU!
First- amazing work!! Absolutely the best video I’ve seen- concise instructions along with great visuals and perfect results! How would this technique differ for a side part? Should you start with a center part as you did here? If you start with the preferred side part, how does that change your teardrop shape? 🤍
Thanks for this video. I have been struggling with finding a good technique for a client I have who has a darker root already but her blonde is way too blonde and she wants to add dark in. I think this would be perfect for what she wants especially with how you did all the sectioning and the weaves etc. I hope I have as good results as you did on your mannequin.
New to you. I sure hope you answer. This is exactly what I have been looking for.. What co!or did you use?? Product??? Demi??? Did you tone??? I love this. Xxoo..where are you located.
Root color is a 6, lowlight is a 6-but can also use a shade lighter instead. 1:1 ratio, it looks thick. Likely she used 10 vol developer. I'm thinking she used a warm 6 because the mannikin likely had bleached hair already. So a warm color would fill the hair without it looking greenish in the end. Adding warmth will make the brown look richer. (...From what I've learned so far from watching reverse balayage videos since I cant seem to manage getting an appointment with anyone during these times... Ya girl is desperate!) Good luck everyone trying this at home! I need it.
Angela Crawford hello Angela! You just need to rinse with cool water. I also only used a level 6.5 so it wasn’t a super dark pigment which is a little more likely to bleed if washed incorrectly
Currently doing this on my hair I have a few more mins on the dye. I did an all over bleach myself and the blonde is too harsh with how dark my eyebrows are followed this video expect I have bangs so fingers crossed I didn’t mess it up even more because i have no self control
ive watched tons of these videos on reverse balayage and this is one of the most simple and effective techniques that i've seen. excellent.

This was the best tutorial I've watched. Just proves you don't need a ton of subscribers to make a solid impact!
What colour formulation have you used? If the hair is as blonde, isn't it the risk of ending with a green hair? Fabulous technique 👌! Thank you!

Hi, I want to do that to my hair and mine is platinum blonde, is it okay to do this straight over bleach blonde as I’m a base 6 also. Thanks.

Did she use permanent or Demi permanent?
Wow😍❤️...thanks so much for sharing can’t wait to try this on Client
Wow, beautiful!
Wow very beautiful. Great 👍🏼 job!
Amazing! 6G and 5N would be good?
Can you do this technique but only do the root melt and not add in the low lights?
Yes!!
Thank you so much for this video, it's so helpful 💗
That looks great.
This is amazing! & efficient
What were the formulas you used for for her root/lowlights?
I need to know too
Ella dijo que usó 6.5
Are you use a demi_ on the roots?
What color did u use
Awesome i love how you did the back
Amazing 🥳🤩🤪
Great, I'll definitely try it
Amazing
Do you ever stop with just the roots and not do the foiled lowlights?
Yes! I do that when the client is looking for an ombre look
Jesus you don’t know how you just saved my life lord 🤣😭
I'm going to try this. Brassy roots, cool ends. Going to go for a 6 or 7 ash brown/blonde. Eeeeek!
Does anyone know what color she used on the roots ?
Love it!❤
I agree, best video
what were the formulas????
Very helpful thank you very much!!
How do you keep the color melt from gettin in the blonde when rinsing out?
Angela Crawford hello Angela! You just need to rinse with cool water. I also only used a level 6.5 so it wasn’t a super dark pigment which is a little more likely to bleed if washed incorrectly
So was your root color the same color as your lowlight?
And in the front would you do the same thing if she has eyebrow legnth bangs?
Yes !
nice job
What color do you used ?
all oligo professional color!!!!
Currently doing this on my hair I have a few more mins on the dye. I did an all over bleach myself and the blonde is too harsh with how dark my eyebrows are followed this video expect I have bangs so fingers crossed I didn’t mess it up even more because i have no self control
I hear you. Lol. I'm going to try what you just did yikes
Loved this video thank you so much for posting! It was so helpful 😊
Good video but you didn’t say what colors you used.
Thank you so much
4:44 here did you apply bleach? because i kind of didnt catch what did you apply.
Rana Magdy I think it's the same toner from the root color but used as a lowlight but I could be mistaken
Michelle Sawyer i think you are right!! thank you
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
love!!!!!
I wish my demon ghost living in my room do my hair because I cant do myself and im broke
You can buy products that are not that expensive I promise you can do ir
Why would you do a tutorial and not list your formulas.
how does the blonde on top not get dye on it when u are folding it over the underside section as you go?
im doing this on myself iam a professional tho wish me luck
Sheesh where are you at ? I need help lol
Too much work
You missed quite a few bits
Verum AutemEx what part of the technique would you like us to go over with you?
