The letter she wrote reads: Dear Klaus, You'd have been proud of Hope today. She's back home for summer break. I brought her out to the bayou for the crawfish boil, hoping she'd play with other Crescent kids, but when I turned around, she was gone. I found her inside at Mary's bedside, telling her stories and singing to her. Sometimes I think about all the unlikely things that led to her existence- you and I, born a thousand years apart, and all the petty crap that brought us to that one night in Mystic Falls. It's been hard...but the truth is, I watched her curled up next to that dying woman, and I knew I wouldn't change a thing. In all my life, I've never felt lucky before her. Anyway. We miss You. Hayley.
The moment elijah remembers Hayley is so heartbreaking. Even Kol of all people was crying. And the look on Marcel's face, even as a person who hated Elijah, he still felt bad for him and felt the pain elijah was feeling for Hayley's death. It's so sad.
Elijah getting his memories back is so heartbreaking he truly loved Hayley, i hate how the show ruined their relationship i loved Haylijah. Also Daniel acting is amazing.
This episode was so good! I loved seeing everyone in the chambre de chasse together. Marcel finding everyone’s totems was great! I like that moment between Kol and Marcel where they were talking about Davina. I also liked the scene with Kol and Elijah talking. The flashbacks/memories Klaus was having of Hayley this whole episode were so wonderful and sad. I really like that they’re showing how much Klaus loved Hayley and how much her death is impacting him. Elijah finally remembering and realizing what he did and just sinking to the ground crying was so heartbreaking. That moment at the end with Klaus reading Hayley’s letters she sent to him and crying cutting back and forth with Elijah putting himself back together was beautiful.
Omg finally 🙌 this episode is so good, honestly my favorite of this season. Elijah's reaction of Hayley's death when he gets his memory back is one of the most heartbreaking scenes ever 💔
Mmm I wouldn't exactly call Antoinette innocent in all of this. She could have stopped Hayley's death by merely speaking up and she chose not to. She knew Greta was up to nefarious things with her whole obsession of the "purity of the species."
A great parallel would be when Klaus is telling Elijah in the flashback about not just standing idly by while things happen to his species. She did the exact thing with Elijah and Hayley and all of it. She didn’t agree with her mom, but also didn’t do anything to stop it.
this episode never fails to make me cry 😭😭. not only did Elijah loose the love of his life, he also has to deal with the guilt of him stopping her from being saved and it’s gonna be 10x worse because his biggest fear was harming hayley in the first place and now his niece hates him. also Klaus reading Hayley’s letters omg 😢😢😢
I really like this episode. It hurts so much, but the scene when Elijah finally gets his memories back is one of my fave scenes of this show, so emotional and with the family being there and everything.
Seeing Elijah remember everything and knowing he got the love of his life killed was one of the hardest moments to watch on this show. He needed to take responsibility and remember but damn that hurt to watch.
Love a family reunion, Marcel being added is great, love his scenes with the Originals, especially Elijah. Elijah having to embrace all that he is and what he did to the woman he loved is so painful. Haley's flashbacks are used perfectly. Daniel Giles gives a beautiful performance.
You see how Jerry felt that's how I felt when he let them kill her but in this scene when he started to cry even I started to cry because I actually felt that
Obviously a great episode and I agree it's the best episode so far in the season and probably my favorite from the season overall. There are so many little moments that make it so great to me. Kol mentioning that him and Davina sent Hope those books for a birthday, just another note to say how involved him and Davina have stayed in Hope's life despite being separated(Uncle Kol is amazing.) I love Freya standing up to Klaus and telling him that she was the one there for Hope with Haley for the past 7 years when Klaus couldn't. And I love klaus telling Elijah that he's the one that gave Hope her name. It brings so much to how important of a role Elijah has actually played in Hope's life considering he's the one who convinced Klaus to even want to have Hope.
Every time I here their vow mentioned in front of kol I feel bad for him. He was never truly a part of that vow. He was always just kinda set aside. I truly can’t imagine the pain elijah would feel. Literally all this wouldn’t have happened if elijag hadn’t erased his memories but mainly if hope wouldn’t have thrown a fit about brining her family together when they are protecting her and everyone else by staying apart.
‼️Help‼️ Someone please tell me where is the flashback scene when Klaus brings Hayley home and she says "I wanna believe that this baby means something to you. Don't let us down" because I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be in this episode. I needed that reaction. 😭❤
This episode is one time I cried without Klaus’s tears triggering me! Omg Elijah realizing what he did go Hayley had me & Kol crying 😢😭 can’t wait til you finish the final season!!
Elijah didn’t have crap to apologize to Kol for he killed Davina not Elijah or Freya last I checked Kol knew he was sent on a murder mission when Davina brought him back. Also last I checked the reason he was sent on his murder mission was cuz Davina murdered 11 INNOCENT witches the ancestors told her in season one what they do if she went after her own again it’s amazing the characters not the fans commenting never bring any of those points up.
Still find it one of the stupidest scenes where Hayley offers the name Katherine as the name of her own daughter lol. Hayley once worked for Katherine, who tried to get her killed after she was done with her. Lol. Stupid.
I wouldn’t say antionette is completely innocent in all these as marcel stated and if she said something, but she wasn’t cruel or anything like that I actually liked her.
Unpopular opinion: Antoinette had nothing to do with any of this, not even with her mothers job or elijah deciding to forget everything. It wasn't fair for her to fall in love and promise her all to elijah and just be played with, while elijah was leaving Antoinette I was like man you're making another mistake, you are making a decision for others again! #deservedbetter
I agree but I think Elijah leaving Antoinette was not because of others, it was because if he had stayed with her each and every time he would have looked at her all he would have seen would be Hayley's death.
Rebekah bringing up Esther still pisses me off she sat by for years watching Mikael beat and abuse Klaus he almost killed Klaus growing as a kid wrong person to bring up
When you're done with The 100 & TEEN WOLF can you PLEASE consider doing SANTA CLARITA DIET (zombie alert!) & WRECKED (Lost "parody"), both brilliant shows with ONLY 30ep/20min! Also IMPOSTERS(20Ep), TELL ME A STORY(20Ep), SHADOWHUNTERS(55Ep) & REVENGE(90Ep)!!! All great shows and can't wait for you & Jery to see/react to them!!! 😍
I think the main thing in the blame everyone puts on Elijah is remembering Klaus’s final request to Elijah in the first place.. He told him that he needed to let them go when they all separated ways, and the only way for Elijah to hold that word was to forget about them. Otherwise he would never have stopped finding ways to check on Klaus. Now, if Klaus never asked him and made Elijah feel like he couldn’t hold himself back from checking on Klaus, he never would have gotten rid of his memories in the first place..
This is why we stand Freya in this house Klaus with his judgmental self if he doesn't blame someone for something. something's wrong she has given up a lot of things to take care of Hope given he can't see her physically there is such a thing as FaceTime and letters and voice call this dude doesn't want to speak to her because he thinks he's going to break her so you know what let Hope break him
the saddest moment in the whole show is when elijah remembers hayley, it’s so heartbreaking and goes to show how great of an actor daniel is
The scene where Elijah remembers and breaks down and everyone starts crying always breaks my heart
shattering
Everyone didn’t start crying
@@kpj2224 Ok everyone except Klaus
"Kathrine?"
"Oh god, no"
So funny 🤣
"I really wish they would've put Marcel in here, just to show that deep down he is one of them"
*Marcel falls from thin air*
How about Mikael And Esther?🤣😂

Hayley.
the fact that marcel felt bad even after elijah killed him, and kol too after they sacrificed the love of his love and got her back...
The moment elijah remembers Hayley is so heartbreaking. Even Kol of all people was crying. And the look on Marcel's face, even as a person who hated Elijah, he still felt bad for him and felt the pain elijah was feeling for Hayley's death. It's so sad.
I just love the fact that Klaus somehow knew his key would have something to do with Hayley
it's so heartbreaking seeing Elijah break down when we aren't used to this side of him, daniel gillies portrays elijah amazingly
Elijah getting his memories back is so heartbreaking he truly loved Hayley, i hate how the show ruined their relationship i loved Haylijah. Also Daniel acting is amazing.

seeing elijah breakdown after remembering brought tears to my eyes , but klaus was so funny this episode💀 “its just a door elijah open it”
favorite episode of season 5. i saw it in while i was on vacation in new york and was bawling on a bus in front of everyone
Omg finally 🙌 this episode is so good, honestly my favorite of this season.
Elijah's reaction of Hayley's death when he gets his memory back is one of the most heartbreaking scenes ever 💔
Lol you called it about Marcel 🤣🤣😢 the funniest line was when Klaus said, 🗣”It’s just a door Elijah open it!!”
Mmm I wouldn't exactly call Antoinette innocent in all of this. She could have stopped Hayley's death by merely speaking up and she chose not to. She knew Greta was up to nefarious things with her whole obsession of the "purity of the species."

It really bothers me how nobody from TVD or TO gotten awards for their acting because they truly deserved it
I couldn't agree more! I think that the actors in TVD and TO are the BEST actors I've ever seen actually.
this episode never fails to make me cry 😭😭. not only did Elijah loose the love of his life, he also has to deal with the guilt of him stopping her from being saved and it’s gonna be 10x worse because his biggest fear was harming hayley in the first place and now his niece hates him. also Klaus reading Hayley’s letters omg 😢😢😢
I really like this episode. It hurts so much, but the scene when Elijah finally gets his memories back is one of my fave scenes of this show, so emotional and with the family being there and everything.
It's was briefly mentioned that Mary passed on in the last episode and they even showed her memorial.
this is the saddest moment in the whole tvdu it destroyed me, crying for ges after watching this
The pain Elijah felt this episode got me going through it!😮💨😭
Seeing Elijah remember everything and knowing he got the love of his life killed was one of the hardest moments to watch on this show. He needed to take responsibility and remember but damn that hurt to watch.

Bro I literally lol’d when Klaus said “ it’s just a damn door , open it !!”
You see how Jerry felt that's how I felt when he let them kill her but in this scene when he started to cry even I started to cry because I actually felt that
I just wanted to say how I love the
fact that Katherine Pierce
is always remembered, by foes or not
but remembered, forever.
Obviously a great episode and I agree it's the best episode so far in the season and probably my favorite from the season overall. There are so many little moments that make it so great to me. I also have an emotional attachment to this episode too 😭✋
Yeah I cried again when Klaus was reading the letter 😭 fr makes me sad every time
Elijah’s breakdown always makes me shed a tear 🥲 Also - Marbekah 😩
Bro, you still cut the Hayley flashbacks I'm pissed
Right..
After the video, I got a soap ad that mentioned the words "hope", "darkside", "my brother".. though it was star wars related I found it fitting :)
‼️Help‼️
Someone please tell me where is the flashback scene when Klaus brings Hayley home and she says "I wanna believe that this baby means something to you. Don't let us down" because I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be in this episode. I needed that reaction. 😭❤
he never let de klayley scenes into the final cut its2so annoying
The episodes after Hayley's death were even sadder than the episode of her death.
This episode is one time I cried without Klaus’s tears triggering me! Omg Elijah realizing what he did go Hayley had me & Kol crying 😢😭 can’t wait til you finish the final season!!

This has to be my fav episode of the series
After all the deaths in this series, haleys death broke me and still hurts to see it everytime 😭😭
Still find it one of the stupidest scenes where Hayley offers the name Katherine as the name of her own daughter lol. Hayley once worked for Katherine, who tried to get her killed after she was done with her. Lol. Stupid.
Poor Eli. I'd always hoped that he'd get his happy ending with Hayley. And the fact that he didn't even remember her always brakes me
I wouldn’t say antionette is completely innocent in all these as marcel stated and if she said something, but she wasn’t cruel or anything like that I actually liked her.
And all of this because of Hope. I mean... we can understand her, but she is the reason Hayley is dead anyway.
Unpopular opinion: Antoinette had nothing to do with any of this, not even with her mothers job or elijah deciding to forget everything. Been waiting for this 🙌
Question why didn’t they just make the whole chambre de chasse to see each other in those years apart
They have to be asleep
I’m not sure if they have to be together tho
Rebekah bringing up Esther still pisses me off she sat by for years watching Mikael beat and abuse Klaus he almost killed Klaus growing as a kid wrong person to bring up
This episode will always make me cry

Its so sad right but but becomes bittersweet ❤️
Daniel gillies acting A1
I can’t handle this episode cause I almost hated Elijah for Hayley’s death and then he remembered everything and it almost broke me😭
Yes. The season's best episode so far. ❤️
I think the main thing in the blame everyone puts on Elijah is remembering Klaus’s final request to Elijah in the first place..
