I saw the Sonic 2 playthrough when it came out in 2011, I was around 12 years old or so. Now I'm a grown ass fucking man.....I did get my bonus video atleast, even if I forgot it fucking never came out for half of these 9 years.

the reason why tails can get so many points by hitting an enemy after sonic is dead is because of the fact that, when sonic dies, every entity is frozen in place, except for sonic and the camera. What happens is the game registers that tails has hit an enemy, and awards points, but, since the enemy is frozen, and therefore cannot die, and tails is always on top the enemy, it awards the points on every frame.

If I recall correctly, Genocide City Zone was originally called Cyber City but then translation issues (or something like that) made it Genocide City.

There’s some pictures I’ve seen of concept art for Genocide City with “Genocide” crossed our and Cyber drawn underneath it, apparently when they still believed they could incorporate the stage into the game they went looking for a less offensive but still cool name.

Sonic Prime is a new show and the Sonic Movie 2 is almost here. AOSTH now has a Blu-Ray release in HD. We still don’t have the Sonic 1 CES/Tokyo Toy show prototypes however.
2023: You are doing better as a Sophomore than what you did as a Freshman. One whole semester with straight As and a 4.0 GPA. You also bought Sonic Frontiers and will stream it on RUclips too. Sonic movies were very good. Tokyo Toy Show prototypes are still being searched.

As a fun fact, back in 2004 i found a bootleg copy of Sonic 2, it had some chinese letter on a side.
It was Sonic 2 Beta, and i actually growed up thinking this was the actual Sonic 2 for a couple of years.
And from something a friend told me, this beta was discovered around 2005-2006, so that means i actually played the beta before it was actually found in the internet????
It was discovered around 98/99?

I actually did get a perfect bonus on every single zone I used debug mode and placed myself in the wall and after getting the rings quickly moved back to the rest of the level yeah I'm a madman

(just a joke of it wasn't obvious, although I would like to mention that the same os actually true for Sonic Adventure 2; most likely as a reference to this game, getting every ring in a stage guarantees you an A rank, but since some stages have rings in normally inaccessible areas, the only way to get them is through a debug mode-type thing, although I'm not sure if such a thing exists for SA2).

The snail enemy in the sonic 2 prototype is in sonic lost world.
Actually I’m fairly certain those snail enemies in lost world are more based on the ones in Launch Base Zone from Sonic 3. The protosnails do appear in the mobile rerelease, but only in debug mode.
