    Hi, thanks for the video! Would you think the 55AMP version would work too for programming/flashing and diagnostics?

      Yea, definitely. I believe BMW requires 100 amps but domestics will work fine. The only problem I have run across so far is a Ford Mache-E IPMA update. It gobbled up the amps.

      Good question. I don't know 🤷‍♂️ Haven't had an issue yet when programming BUT... The darn thing stopped working last week right in the middle of use. Won't charge, green light flashes on for a few seconds then goes dark. Already replaced it so will see how long the second one lasts. Probably used it about 60 times.

      @@raincitywrench117 the powermax died after 60 uses? Was the 2nd one your using the OEM warranty replacement?

      @@9-ballguru I ordered original through Ebay. Haven't done anything with the failed unit. Probably have to eat it 😓

    Does this also work for charging batteries overnight? Im thinking of buying a few of these to bolt to the lifts in my shop. I wanna be able to leave them on cars overnight to keep the batteries maintained, use them while programming and diagnosing also

      It does. Sliding the little switch to the left puts it in three stage charge mode. Can leave it connect indefinitely and it will maintain and float the battery. Sliding the lever to the right puts it in fixed power. Works perfect for programming. I have mine adjusted for 14.3 volts

      ​@@raincitywrench117thanks for making this video. Is 14.3 ok to use for lithium car batteries? My manual says don't charge the battery above 14.4 volts and I need to use this to program...can I leave it on 14.3 with out fear of messing up the battery?

      Welcome! Honestly can't answer that but I personally haven't ran across any issues yet. Have mine set to 14.3V on fixed output. Works excellent for programming and stand by power unit for diagnosis. Probably used mine 6 or eight times last week alone. Out of curiosity, what lithium car batteries are you talking about?@@Dawgz15

    Fellow ford Sm here. Looking at getting 1 of these for reflashes. Can you leave this connected to the battery and start the vehicle and not harm this unit? We have the big rotunda battery tested charger and we set it to manual charge at 13.6 volts and can start the vehicle and the charger ramps down to 0 amps and kicks back in when koeo.
    Wondering if this does the same?

      Yep. Use it almost daily. Have had many start ups in constant output mode without damage. Haven't started an engine in three stage charge mode yet. Works awesome to have it under hood with drop down extension connected, key on while doing testing for any length of time. No equipment of cord in the way, real slick 👍

    That looks like a lot of ripple and noise??? are you sure that is clean enough for programming? Need to check that with an Oscilloscope. You will get cleaner power with an Iota DLS

    This will be perfect for BMW, or Mercedes flash programming or any programming at 14.5V. It is portable, and chargeable, or we need a long power cord?

      Works perfect for programming. Make sure you get the 100 amp model. I flashed a Mach-E with charger connected to 50' retractable cord reel without any problem. Think it's 16 gauge reel. I really like it, it can sit under the hood connected to retractable reel on ceiling and be out of the way when I'm working on something else.

      @@raincitywrench117 Yeah the fan by itself can draw 100 amps at full blast. Some diagnostic procedures send the fan to full power.

      It would’ve been great to see a scope on the cars alternator at maximum charge to see how clean the power is compared to the power max unit.

      Yes you can. All the mechanics at work have a 55 or 65 amp. Cut some thick jumper cables in half and wire it up and done.

      Sure can. Haven't tried on a diesel though and doubt it would supply the amperage to crank over if both batteries are dead.

      @raincitywrench117 get a 100 amp for big trucks. Maybe wait 5 or 10 minutes before starting.

    What "LK" like 75LK stays for? because there is a version without "LK" PMBC-75

      Think they used to have ADJ at the end and now LK. I'm not sure what it means but this is what I found: LK is bulk voltage adjustable and can operate in 3 stage or constant voltage.

      The " BC" stands for the Battery Cable included version. Also worth note the BC version comes with the LCD voltage readout and chrome carry handle. I bought the regular PM4 100 amp no BC so it has no handle , no battery cables and no readout or " On-Off" switch . The battery cables looked real cheap and no copper ends. I bought a 4 gauge set of cables for cheap to use, (Just cut off the one set of ends and tin the cable to insert into the PSU). save about $150. still has the variable voltage and switch between constant voltage or 3 stage charging.
