Paratroopers Experience First Parachute Jump from A400M
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 13 авг 2018
- The Airbus A400M is capable of carrying up to 116 paratroopers at one time - that's more than any other western-built transport plane. Today, it's carrying Dutch and German paratroopers on a joint exercise.
From the Series: Mighty Planes: Airbus A440M bit.ly/2vu4WDS
luftwaffe, ahhh that name used to scare people back in those days
Great A400M commercial.
The Germans invented paratroopers, in fact they developed many tactical and warfare innovations that are still used to this day
I'm sure it was the Russians, they used to exit off the wings into snowdrifts, happy to be corrected though?
They didn't invent it although they proved to the world the effectiveness. They were you could say the first to successfully utilize them on a large operation
evancortez2 yet they still tasted sweet indicreete defeat.
The Germans did not invent paratroops the Russians did
The Soviets invented paratroopers. The Germans were the first to use them in real combat in Norway.
That's a free fall jump. Not a static line jump
Also Paratrooper = Parachute assault trooper. Doesn't need a static line to meet the definition.
Paratroopers are more static line jumpers, these are more free fall / HALO qualified
@@davidgerholdt5416 you dont just go into free fall, you have to be basic para qualified, which is static line, which is drawn from Para's.
@foodie if that were the case their Parachute would have opened as soon as they exited which didn't happen. This is freefall.
Could you imagine being a farmer and waking up to a few dozen paratroopers dropping into your field
Here before some crazies start saying something about Nazis.....sigh.
LUFTWAFFE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
It literally means air force.
i know this.
@@umwelt-jagdflugzeug439 It doesn't. Airforce would be Luftkraft or Luftmacht.
Luftwaffe literally means air weapon. Just like the panzer troops are called Panzerwaffe. I can't explain this but all newer semi branches of the German military have names like that. Luftwaffe is an 30s thing. Panzerwaffe 1920s.

"Can fly as low as 150 feet" I guess Luftwaffe doesn't want to fly among the 3 Wind farms where a "hold my beer" paratrooper could have landed.
Looks fun
Cool
Luftwaffe! Incoming!
Tom Cruise did that already.
Forensource screw tpTom Cruise.
because Europeans allowed him to do it.
No, he is really a superspy disguised as the teeny tiny actor.
*What Smithsonian failed to tell you is that they dropped directly into Poland. How irresponsible.*
More than any other western transport huh? Well I guess someone needs to rig up the C5 so we can break a record.
It's not a strategic transporter. C5 needs a lot of infrastructure. Compare it to the C17 and you find the C17 is bigger but A400m handles better. You need it all :)
@@keepingcalm6469 have you flown them? The C17 can drop freefall above FL300. Also it is faster than the A400. Dont forget, the A400 has problems dropping static line troopers and not talking about dropping heavys and CDS
No shit there Brother! We packed an entire company one time in a C-141 for a jump in Florida. The plane had to do 3 race tracks. 2 for troops and the third for the palate drop.
Maybe they just meant turboprops
Knees in the Breeze, keep em together.
The first one to land in school may have the greater chance to have WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!
Neat. My dad was a US paratrooper and had a story of seeing a guy getting decapitated while he was doing a jump exercise. I guess the guy hesitated for took long and the lines from his pack and the force from outside the plane took his head off... 🤤
beck daaaaaamn
A few freefall troops off the ramp at 12,000 feet is NOT a para-drop.
Has this type of plane ever dropped a full load (112??) using both side doors using static lines and alternate door jumping?? I hear there are problems.
Roger ,i,heare the same, a lot off problems for the staticline jumps,
If I recall correctly, I have seen a foto of French paras using the static line in the A400
Make video on ethiopian 737-8 max crash study
Get to the Choppper!
I imagine this with Arnold Schwarzeneggers voice, although he is Austrian!
Judging by the thumbnail I thought the two men were going to fight.
5 years in service and it is still not cleared for static line jumps...
Pretty sure these havent been in service for 5 years!?
+stuco81 They have. Introduced in 2013 in french service and 2014 in german service.
I get dizzy just watching this.
How about c-17? It can carry more paratroopers than the A400M
ᴍᴀ†ʀɪx - ᴍᴏʙɪʟᴇ ɢᴀᴍɪɴɢ
I think he meant most paratroopers from a tactical lifter. The C-17 and C-5 would be strategic lifters (which the A400m can also do).
c17 can hold 102 paras the A400M 116. 116 is more than 102 in my book.
i think it has to do about the logistics used for the plane and the size of the operations. An airplane's effectiveness does not depend on its size
also the USA's C5 could carry 200 Paratroopers if it wanted too. we simply don't use the C5 for those kinds of Missions
Lots of countries have strategic lifters that could carry more paratroopers IF THEY WANTED TO. So what?
@@adamanderson3042 He's just pointing out the C5 , C130 are both much better than this piece of rubbish.
They're jumping from 12,000 feet (~400m), but they think they're going to drift 10 miles (~16km)? No way. Not even with a strong tail wind. The parachutes they're using probably have a glide ratio of less than 2.5:1.
12'000 feet is approximately 4000m, not 400. So it seems about right?
@@value4363 You're right - 4000m. They would need a canopy with a glide ratio of 4:1. Regular skydiving parachutes have a glide ratio of less than 2.5:1.
Then there's Tom Cruise hanging off the side
wow, no static line? Those germans do things a little different
The C-160 is used for static line jumps. Those guys are on the ground to secure the area and organise a mass jump, but ususally not with that many troopers. It is normally the Fallschirm Spezial Zug, Paratrooper Special Platoon with about 10-20 people.
And the A400M isn't cleared for static lines (still)
@@Usgar But I saw a picture of French paratroopers doing static line jump in an A400M
Tom Cruise has already done this 100 times
C-5 galaxy can transport way more
Joseph Campos
I think he meant most paratroopers from a tactical lifter. The C-17 and C-5 would be strategic lifters (which the A400m can also do).

@@luka315 yes , very
A big claim to say this plane holds the most paratroopers. Considering that the C17 holds 102 and that the C5 is a lot bigger, if the USAF wanted to I’m sure would be able to beat the Airbus.
I used to jump from a C-141 and it held 123 Paratroopers.
I think he meant most paratroopers from a tactical lifter. The C-17 and C-5 would be strategic lifters (which the A400m can also do).
No, europeans are the best and you will never beat europeans.
116 is more than 102 and the C5 doesn't do para drops. so what do you even want..

I really think that is a nonsense to transport 160 soldiers in a single vehicle, it only takes a radar and a rocket to nock them off , 160 soldiers in to ashes.

Germany vs Russia part II. Democracy Now!
Germany has no problems with Russia, unlike the US.
My brother Alvin was 101st Airborne...(Screaming Eagles!)... in Vietnam! I imagined his first jump watching THIS. He came home agnostic. But, after being DOA in 1986 and receiving quadruple bi-pass heart surgery, he became Christian...on the recovery room table! He had come to saying, "Beat THAT rap!" But he carefully rationalized the situation, and listened to wise counsel. "You were cold! You were blue! You were dead! You did NOTHING!" Said my younger brother. And my sister said, "The LORD!" Alvin thought, "I hadn't prayed to my bon tiki god. I hadn't chanted. FINALLY, he looked up and said, "Lord, maybe it was You!" That's when he got saved! HALLELUJAH! Then he married, had a lovely daughter (model) and became a Chaplain for the Illinois State Prison System for MANY years before Jesus took him Home in 2004!
