This was one of many wonderful Airborne operations I participated in over my career as a Jumpmaster.
Even after all these years, I still can't get over being a Para and watching jump videos. “He was just a rooky trooper and surely shook with fright he checked off his equipment and made sure his pack was tight he had to sit and listen to those awful engines roar “
Your choice between holland and Normandy dz, we don't use the third one so don't talk about it Holland is great, lot's of hills, pot holes to snap your ankles in, big rocks to land on and lots of cactus. Personal I prefer Normandy, it's nice and flat, just try not to land in the swampy area with the creek and thorn bushes. A wet chute is a pain in the ass to carry to the designated zone
Man I really miss that adrenaline rush right before you jump out. I miss the peace you get while your on your way down. And I DEFINITELY do not miss the moment when you hit the ground like a sack of potatoes.
Anyone else here, when you "hook up" give that line just a few tugs more than needed to put your brain at ease? You won't just click your static line and say "yea, good enough." XD
I sure miss that. I Was In E co. 782 back in the 90s. Looks like there's too much room in the aircraft. Also there's the big bright round thing that you can see with. Along with those new chutes.
You can end up upside down , as soon as the chute opens ,it usually straightens you out. I forget the length of the staticky line and the length of your chute . Is all connected to the steel wire running the length of the bird. You probably fall about 80 feet before you feel the chute deploying. The best that I can describe, it has been 40 years since my last jump. I miss it.
I have had many jumps under T-10s and Paracommanders. Pardon me for saying so; it seems this new chute, being jumped in this segment, takes forever to reach the ground. Facing heavy enemy ground fire would not be the choice of chute I would prefer. I realize, with the heavy equipment carried by each jumper, a larger parachute creates a softer landing. Also, I am told, this larger chute is best for lower, level jumps ( 500 ft. ).
I still remember how absolutely fucking terrified I was when I did my first jump. I never got over that nerve racking feel you get while still in the aircraft and hearing the engines (partly because blood on the risers plays in my head) and that's all I can think about until I'm actually out and see my chute untangle (because fuck me that shit always twists)... still feels like I'm gonna break my legs when I land though.

What is that first guy at the door checking for?
thank you for your service
Honor and remember all of those on day of infamy Jun 6. Men had more courage in their pinky toe than 99% of humans today. 👍
I am amazed at the room on that bird. A cherry could get lost.
Every jump was a thrill, especially after my parachute opened and I knew that I was going to live! Hey, Jumpmaster, get rid of that chewing gum, nobody cares if you have minty-fresh breath. 😁
Thanks you for your service
“He was just a rooky trooper and surely shook with fright he checked off his equipment and made sure his pack was tight he had to sit and listen to those awful engines roar “

Your choice between holland and Normandy dz, we don't use the third one so don't talk about it
Holland is great, lot's of hills, pot holes to snap your ankles in, big rocks to land on and lots of cactus.
So how does jumping out feel?
Either it was a very warm day or those new chutes have a lower rate of descent? Nice work brothers!!
They do indeed have a lower rate of descent.
Would you not get sucked out of the Aircraft when opening the doors or is that just in movies?
They are not high up enough for that to happen.
@@kuraishimo But for say that could happen in real life?
@@6ixy__891 Yes, it is possible.
full respect to anybody who jumps out of a plane either in military or civilian purpose. something i probably wpuld never do
I did one parachute jump once. It's one of the craziest feelings you can ever get
Anyone else here, when you "hook up" give that line just a few tugs more than needed to put your brain at ease? You won't just click your static line and say "yea, good enough." XD
will we ever do this again in war? very impressive, any other countries doing airborne units?
Yes definitely, they won’t be dropped into the battle to much things could take that big damn plane down lol.
I'm missing their rank insignia. I thought it would be on the outaode shoulder. Is it not visible on the uniform they jump in?
Proud to have been a member of the 82nd! 1st bn 505th pir
Every time they say hook up my heart drops lmao every jump
THANK YOU> GOD BLESS

I sure miss that. I Was In E co. 782 back in the 90s. Looks like there's too much room in the aircraft. Also there's the big bright round thing that you can see with. Along with those new chutes.
Check the door
great video !!!!!!
Does a parachute open once you get off the plane or do you have to release it?
Damn you are the guys that killed me in pochinki!

What do they do if one person has a fear of heights/skydiving? Just curious
What happens if the person starts flipping when they jump?
Also, I am told, this larger chute is best for lower, level jumps ( 500 ft. ).
me to
if you start playning BF-3 Main theme at 8:35 then magic gonna happen You can thanks me later
"You're surrounded. That's ok we're parachutists. We're supposed to be surrounded."
Did you enjoy it? What if I'm not the best with heights but still want to go airborne?
how far are the paratroopers spread?
Where os the airborn training camp at i wanna join
