    In a way...I feel like this is also a love letter to Young Kratos from the devs and a message. The message being to the newer fans of GOW and other fans who say that Kratos back then was simply an emotionless killing machine, nothing more and that there wasn't more to his character than that, which me and plenty of other people found to be a load of horse shit. This showed that yes, while Kratos was a killing machine back then, there was more to him and his emotions. Obviously back then he has felt rage, but he's also felt regret, remorse, sorrow, guilt, and has expressed those emotions. He has shown them. It's just that by the time GOW 3 rolled around, his humanity was at an all time low and at that point after the events of GOW 2, he no longer gave a damn until once he saw what his vengeance did to Greece by the end of the game and until he met Pandora. He was just a very deeply hurt man who didn't deal with his pain in a healthy manner, which Tyr told him in this DLC.

    • @JonnySublime
      @JonnySublime 9 месяцев назад

      That’s why all the people saying that Kratos got soft can F off. Bitches gonna bitch. It’s called a character arc which no characters anywhere ever have anymore so people after being born after a certain year don’t even know what it is.

    • @nem3732
      @nem3732 9 месяцев назад +31

      I feel like this DLC especially calls those people out. Kratos was never one dimensional. People judged him way too quickly because they saw just an angry man on the surface.

      @matti.8465 9 месяцев назад +14

      Yeah I love how the message of the DLC isn't "old Kratos sucks you're not him anymore". Its about how Kratos was always a nuanced character with the ability to change, he didn't become this new god by running away from his past self, but by embracing the good qualities he always had.

      Ikr bro i could hardly contain my smile throughout all the memories. The times me & friends put ourselves in Kratos’ shoes, going through his mindset throughout the events of old God of War.
      To see it all pay off here, as Tyr piecing things back together was so heartfelt to me. The 3 boss fights were the icing on the cake.
      And the final moments of self reflection? Pure art.

    Kratos simply needed...a friend. Or friends rather.
    When you think about it, Kratos was on a one-man mission to kill every single member of his family with little to no remorse and he did that all by his lonesome.
    In the end, he chose to gut himself seeing as there was nothing left of his world but a glint of hope by self-sacrifice. The same type of sacrifice he saw from Pandora whom reminded him of his daughter.
    Moving along, he spent the rest of his life in exile before befriending and developing a relationship with Faye. Then Atreus was born. Then Brok and Sindri came. Then Mimir was freed.
    Soon Kratos found something that gave his life purpose again: people to protect and to serve as he once did before he was called "The Ghost of Sparta".
    Everyone has faults. Everyone makes mistakes. It's taking chances and building bonds with those that matter is what matters most to anyone who's ever had that darkness swelling in them.

    Reliving the Memories back at the Previous Games.
    1. The Oath Stone show how Kratos was cornered by Alrik and the Barbarians and how he was forced to make a bloodpact with Ares. Then Tyr show how despite Kratos evil act during the War and pledge an oath with Ares, was all done to protect his homeland Sparta. An acceptance that shown when he didn't regret his choice.
    2. The Sun Shield show how Kratos beheading Helios's Head and use it on his quest of Vengeance, resultimg the Sun to be forever covered in dark clouds and endless Storms. Tyr show how Kratos once sacrifice himself to bring sun back to the sky and the fact that this was happen before he kill Helios. A vigilance shown through his sacrifice.
    3. The Bronze Statue show how Pandora was a key to open the Pandora's Box and how Kratos opened it to destroy Ares, but also releasing the evil to infect the Olympians. Tyr show how Kratos release the Hope into the world, but despite that also believe that Kratos still have a hope inside of him. A benevolence act that he realize.

    This dlc really resonates with me. It came out a day before my birthday and today I turned 29. U haven’t even played this yet but I’ve had a rough day to start. Dealing with a lot of turmoil that’s forced me to reflect on my life. I’ve been trying to be a better person for I feel the terrible things I’ve done has made everyone hate me or abandon me. I find myself conflicted between wishing I could be that cold hearted teen again and wishing I never did the things that drove me to be so hated today. This dlc hits so hard to home for me.

    6:10 Are we going to gloss over that it was Zeus and the other gods that gave Kratos their orders to open the box in the first place? Rather than confront Ares themselves (which, while certainly daunting, pales compared to the horrors that DID happen)?
    In truth, Greece was doomed one way or another the moment Pandora’s Box was opened, and the gods and their lands infected with it’s evils. If not by Kratos, than from the gods running the land into the ground.
    And to take it one step further, The Fates (who had an artificial control over fate, to keep their authority in line with The Norns revelations regarding the notion) had a hand in ensuring it ALL happened.
