Not only that it's ridiculously powerful as fuck, but the fact it can be used in the basic game in ng+ after finishing Valhalla makes this 10 times better.

@@deaconhimura7238 I'm pretty sure NG+ allows you to keep all your weapons into the new save.

If we can use the Blade of Olympus, with this new God of War engine/mechanics, imagine how the other weapons throughout the previous games would work too like Hercules’ Nemean Cestus, Claws of Hades, the Nemesis Whip, or even the Blade of Artemis

As someone that’s been playing this series since I was a kid I literally jumped out of my seat when Kratos got the blade of Olympus
Imagine Kratos fought Thor or Odin with the Blade of Zeus.
You get to use that new rage mode in New Game plus after beating the story of Valhalla. So you don't have to imagine, you can do it :)

Damn, they even added the same move set from GOWIII Blade of Olympus. This DLC is surely a love letter to fans a true gift by Devo and Studio.
Only Og players who played the old games will have a nostalgia playing/watching this , all these memories from 2006 to 2010 are kicking in.

well of course, Mimir is probably the one person other than Deimos that he would call a brother, said as much in his journal, I couldn't imagine the feeling of terror he was feeling almost losing his other brother

Once fans modding the leviathan axe skin to be blade of olympus. The developers loved it and bring it back for real in Valhalla.
Scene was pretty intense. Frantic Mimir had me worried and Kratos trying to save him was something else. Blade of Olympus was interesting but it played kinda boring.
Exactly. Have no idea why they made it so slow. It was really fast in the old games. It was even faster than the blades of chaos.

tip: if you get the huldra project 09 when you go back to the Greece setting you can use helios's head just like gow3
my god this dlc was absolutely amazing
I was legit freaking out when Mimir was in the cage.
But what hit me most was Kratos' reaction - he didn't treat it like an annoyance, he was immediately worried for Mimir's safety and tore the cage open to save him. Such a great scene.

The fact that Kratos worried about Mimir more than his wrath towards the god of olympus he hates the most, shows us how much Kratos has change, even when Helios talk shit to him, he remains calm and all cool.. i love the character development of this game..

I really would've loved for this game to have given us fights with a Greek God, but I understand the amount of work it would've taken to adjust the mechanics, and the developers already gave us sweet stuff for free.
THIS IS A FREE DLC BTW.. also i just noticed that in the past(the gow 1 remake and base ragnarok) rage of sparta, the colors are a bit lighter, kinda like orange-ish, but when he wields the blade, the rage is suddenly dark red colors, deep hue kinda crazy, literally iykyk moment

I can’t remember if it was in GOW 2018 or Ragnarok, where Kratos says that he tried summoning his old weapons before but couldn’t. I wonder if he can now do so with having overcome the burden and guilt he felt for his past
This dlc pushed me to finally get platinium, also did all 12 achivments for dlc. 10/10
For me kratos is fully changed before he used to when he said "hello". Dude used to be the most violent warrior and unexisted the whole pantheon and now he said hello?
God of War 1 was the very first video game I ever played, playing through that corridor and using the MF Blade of Olympus again brought my inner child back 🥲

Cory barlog did not want to remake them, he wanted to start a new saga, so sadly the only possibility of seeing gow og again is through remasters by another company with Santa Monica as the producers

I have a theory how the Norse and Greek worlds are connected through Valhalla since when they were falling into the spiraling red abyss it was probably a mix between the Greek and Norse worlds.
Helios turned out to be more of a Hermes, he said something Hermes said in 3.

After the dlc ending I feel kratos can still summon the blade of olympus outside Valhalla, like he's channeling the remaining power of hope that he still carries, with that blue energy thay courses the blade. Especially after the kind of god he becomes in the end
Seeing the blade of Olympus again makes me feel like a kid all over again…

I wanna know the soundtrack at the scenes where Kratos tries to save Mimir, followed by Sigrun saving them. Epic.
Omg this brings so many memories, in the GOW 2 The Blade Of Olympus where Zeus made the weapon from Earth & Haven to create a blade so powerful, which instantly ended The Great War (War Between Titan & Pantheon).
And in the GOW 3 The Head Of Helios, The Sun God where Kratos rips his head off so that, he can easily walkthrough The Path Of Eos (Which Is Helios' Sister).
Kratos was ready to dash helios the chance he got he was like na not him again 🤣🤣🤣🤣
the fact there is no kid talking to him/slowing him down makes the game so much better
This implies that throughout his Journey with Atreus, he has never used his God Powers at all, thats why he was able to summon the Blade after all this time, i believe he still haven't used his God powers yet

Not really, it's an illusion made by valhalla, so it will disappear as soon as he gets out of it
I think this just means Kratos is going to get more weapons or either atreus is going to get more weapons other then just his bow and arrows or probably something happening to atreus's bow and arrow
Why do I think that??
Well kratos at this point has weapons with some kind of element power in them
For example
Blades of chaos have fire
Leviathan axe has ice
The Darupnir Spear has wind
And now many thought we'd get mjolnir and it has the lightning element but instead we got back the blade of Olympus which also has lightning
So we might see some weapons relating to water earth the possibility of water related weapon is very low because idk what they'd even do with that but maybe they'll make it so that we would fight enemies underwater too in the next game earth related weapon is also hard to think about but what if we get soul related weapon like god of war Ascension soul element or god of war 3 claws of Hades something similar to that would be awesome
If we get earth related weapon it can be something like the Barbarian hammer or clubs from god of war Ascension
Water related weapon idk and i don't think they'd do anything like that they gave us ice for a reason but a weapon associated with water could be a sword or trident probably
A weapon related to souls should be interesting it can be a sickle a dual sickle or a single sickle seeing kratos wield that would be awesome but all I'm saying is we're going to see some more weapons I'm sure

@@yesno1721 I think the PHYSICAL Blade of Olympus is long gone, this is one crafted from his memories and his rage, thus explaining how we can use it after beating Valhalla. If that makes any sense lol
