I love real Tyr. he is so wise and knows how to get through to almost everyone. And Odin made him look so pathetic. What trash he was
I have a feeling that Valhalla + Tyr was meant for the third expansion, to show us his true might.
And the way his actions shows us why odin wants to get rid of him. A powerful being that can stop Odin but not guided with anger and ambition so he cant be manupulated. He had to kill him or for worse imprisoned him and use him if he want to rule realms as he wanted to do.
Also, I can't help but notice that his design is almost one for one with the traditional image of Jesus. That can't be a coincidence.
@@WarriorVirtue good point, the devs did admit Christianity exists in this world. Maybe tyr met him and liked his style 😂
@@WarriorVirtueit’s very eerie that he look like Jesus but also a description of what a anti Christ would look like at the sametime
Sad that there's no direct mention of Orkos. He was a good friend to Kratos. One he needed in the early days of his tragedy.
Tbf orkos wasn't his fault
Orkos asked for it though. Literally.
Their are many things they didn't mentioned, though considering this is DLC they can only squeeze in the more blunt actions of Kratos, the most highlighted ones. Arguably their are more terrible things he done in the OG however i have a feeling that those much more darker aspects will be touch upon in future installments when they get around to it.
Orkos was his only friend.... When he had no one else! He deserved a mention. But they squeezed a ton into a little so I get why he wasn't.
I was struggling to remember his name and called him oh no 😅 but orkos was one of the very very few people kratos grew to actually care about
Surprised that they didn’t have Kratos mention Poseidon’s Princess, the way he cruelly murdered her was a turning point for the players, at that point it became abundantly clear that kratos was no longer the noble warrior just a murderer.
Yeah.
For me, personally, when he dropped the Ship Captain was when I went, "Woah, woah, what's that for?"
Because the murder of the princess didn't have any noble reasons. Probably why Kratos always says he isn't worthy of forgiveness, with how blinded he is by hate to lash out against someone completely innocent.
I killed who deserving..... and many were not
Helios: You could have not riped my head.
Kratos: You could have tell me the truth of Flame of Olympus.
Helios trying to dismiss Hephaestus' advice to not step into the flame by saying he fell from the grace of Olympus was idiotically hilarious. How you going to say that to a man who is arguably in deeper shit with Olympus 😂
@@finnheisenheim8274I guess he never had a head to begin with
Yes, that's why he was never on the lead or ahead of other gods.@@jaywhy7150
Helios’ comment about the ash on his skin was fucking WILD
Kratos ripping Helios' head off was fucking WILD.
Kratos saying "Hello Helios, where is Mimir?" was fucking WILD.
@@davidpagan8559he was ready to cut his head into a half when he realized it was Helios lol kratos still got some letting go to do
This is positive masculinity and brotherhood. And super endearing to hear how no matter the intensity and quantity of mistakes, there’s always time to process and accept, sometimes forgive those moments and emotions depending on the situation. Some things you carry forever but you can at least make the baggage a little lighter by just talking it through and reliving those moments with another point of view
Exactly, thats compeling not like those guys in Facebook and twitter that said its woke somehow.
this entire dlc is literally a dude in therapy
The most fun and thorough therapy they're probably has ever been in a while lol
I always figured that Kratos' curse was actually PTSD.
It was actually. Valhalla is basically a therapy session and Tyr is his Psychiatrist
Wasn't his fault he made a deal to save his life
Someone already said it, but im glad they redeemed the image of tyr in the dlc, after odins impersonation, and then seeing him doing random shit across the game, made me feel like he was whack. But after playing the dlc my opinion of him has improved drastically
The fact they mentioned the ending of Chains of Olympus when Kratos fell made me tear up that they made 2 PSP Games from the Franchise a big thing
I guess you could say Kratos got some... Top Týr therapy!
I am surprised he never remembered Posiedon's princess. She was practically innocent, fragile. And yet she was crushed by the mechanism Kratos forced her to hold.
Her, Daedalus, Icarus - so many missed opportunities to torment Kratos over his actually horrific sins.
To see his reflection on those cruel actions.
Icarus was already mad. He was determined to kill Kratos coz he thought it was a test the Sisters of Fates wanted him to pass since he repeatedly failed all of the tests he was assigned. Kratos himself was assigned several tests before the Sisters allowed him to meet them, like defeating Theasus, killing Eurayale and solving the puzzle of the Steeds of Time.
I wouldve gladly paid for this dlc if it meant getting more conversationd
Still, I would say the boat captain haunts him for good reason. Part of Kratos' hatred of the gods is how they treat their subjects like trash, no matter how good they are as subjects. Boat master is getting help from Kratos, to defeat a hydra attacking his fleet, but he's giving everything he has to Kratos until then (the "royal treatment" with rare foods, and even a harem of women).
I think that's as much a memory, as anything. He took everything from this boat captain, and then kicked him in a hole to go save his harem. In that moment, he proves himself no better than the gods he detests, for at least everyone else was a figure in one manner or another (a god, a relation to one, or in some way blessed/cursed by them), but this guy was just an average mortal
I'm surprised he doesn't remember casually knocking mortals off dangling structures, for casually being in his way
@@landonletterman831 That's also who the boat captain represents. He's the face of all those people, including Poseidon's Princess: people he let die for no good reason. Like the captain, he could have saved her and found another way to keep those doors open, but he chose to be cruel and uncaring about her fate. She was right to not want his help.
God of War Ragnarok: Old man Kratos FINALLY goes to Therapy
I love that this DLC is taking the Boat Captain thing so seriously. Like, the real reason that happened is because that was the cool thing at the time. Strong, burly man that gives no shits about anything but fucking shit up. Edgy as fuck. It's almost weird to hear Kratos give such a serious statement regarding what basically amounted to a "joke" back in those times. Hell, Kratos would do essentially the same thing to him later in the Underworld. Although, it'd take a whole DLC in itself to recount the other numerous things Kratos did to be "edgy."
Back then he was accepted as the Edgelord Murderhobo of the franchise. That's why we weren't bothered by what he did because we knew what to expect from him. That's why we were able to joke. Because to him, it wasn't serious, so why should we take it seriously?
To find out that little things like this haunt him? That his "give no shits" attitude that we enjoyed for so long haunts him?
That certainly isn't the Edgelord Murderhobo we knew, but the man who finally realized just how NOT "edgy" that was, but cruel and heartless and worse: meaningless.
all of the lore of Kratos's story is so damn good that i can just listen him talk about his story for hours. like i just cant get enough of it.
I realise just how much Helios is the polar opposite to Mimir, Arrogant, Insulting and narcisstic to Mimir being wise, sensitive and thinking of others more than himself.
Helios was kinda a dick but if i got my head ripped off and used as a flashlight and I saved you in a past game i would be mad too
Everytime helios pops up he reminds me of that captain in the God of war 1 that got killed by kratos 3 times up to GOW 2 xD
Kratos casually forgets to mention his other encounters with the Boat Captain. Kratos did him dirty in more than one occasion.
Like a sadistic version of the cabbage merchant from Avatar. Whenever he appeared you knew he was gonna suffer in some way thanks to Kratos.
Mimir is an absolute legend of a friend. Truly loves Kratos and listens to his every word and wants only to help him get past all his tragedies. It's almost impossible to find a friend... A brother or sister like this nowadays. Kratos is damn lucky to have him. And what's better.... He knows it. He loves Mimir to and obviously would risk everything to save him. "Quiet head"! Lol. 😂
Good thing he's given mental Helios that title instead.
Remember people Helios tried to trick Kratos to step into the flame of olympus.
After kratos brought an army of titans to their home with the intent of destroying Olympus (and thus Greece by association)
Kind of an important detail
@@adamtheriault6743i mean when looking at his situation he is probably have a chance to survive it.
Tyr is that one homie that smokes a lot of weed and is always there when you want to talk
Is it just me, or Tyr has Liu Kang vibes due to his Voice.
So Týr is basically a therapist, well I'll be dang
Ah yes... tyrapist lmao
He even talks about how much progress they're making, lol
i wish kratos woukd recall what he did to poseidons prisoners. as far as people who didnt desereve what they got she is in untop the list. im curious what current kratos would say about what he did
She wasn't a prisoner, she was Poseidon's princess.
But yeah, of all the folks that didn't deserve their fate, she was the prime example of it.
@@Meowjoker well u do find her locked up chains but yeahhhhh thst whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth
Makes me really think the next game will be of him in Egypt. Because there's a connection between the Egyptian and Greek pantheon regulation the Typhon story. The game definitely did not do the Typhon story any justice, but who knows maybe that's why it'll be an Egypt based movie
Gonna point out, the youngest known Egyptian God, Horus, is a shapeshifting teenager who wants to take down an evil tyrant. Sound familiar?
“Nobody wants to hear that from u" Helios was soo right
Helios: "I saved your life! ME!"
Kratos: "After I saved yours. And then you tried to trick me into entering the Flame of Olympus."
Helios: "I... Umm... So... Even Stevens?"
Kratos apologising for how he killed Helios.
Poseidon: “am I a joke to you?”
That was just a hate crime
To know what Poseidon have done in myths....
I think no.
Tbf Poseidon had never done anything good
Just enogh read about his dubious conquests of womens in myths to start not loving him(especially in 1 myth, he decided to “play” with Demetrios when she was sad about the loss of her daughter). And I don’t think there’s any need to mention the myth about the Meduse, but in other hand some people think it's not official myth of Greek, but that wrote one guy who try make Greek gods as much evil as he could.
At least Poseidon didn't get his head ripped off while still alive. His eyes may be popped and Kratos snapped his neck but hey, not a "painful" death...
The caliope part took 2 days since I wasnt able to do it, mashing circle was painfull.
Helios he's no more a piece of $#** than when you both parted. You may have been under influence from evils of the world but it doesn't serve as an excuse anymore than kratos' decision that saved his people.
Part of me is disappointed that Kratos didn’t tell Mimi’s the other times he screwed over the boat captain
God Of War: Kratos Goes To Therapy
Suprise they didn't mention Deimos in this dlc.
He’s mentioned briefly in the base game, but it would’ve been cool to see them talk about him more here as well
your existence pleases me
Helios - “ stupid barely useful annoying, flashlight… also ugly”
Mimir - “ my brother, closest Friend, uncle to my son, trusted counselor, respected advisor, emotional support, head, whom I confide my deepest feelings to openly, smartest man alive, teller of things, I find useful, made me laugh once , a member of my family, and a very useful and stylish accessory, also watches my back”
Sounds a little harsh on Helios behalf? Maybe but kratos was as much a victim as the foes he destroyed. The god's employed kratos in stopping Ares 'for them' which could've kept evils from the box from infecting them had they cleaned their own messes once in awhile.
It's not Helios talking, it's Kratos' shame and self-loathing that takes the form of Helios' head.
@shiroamakusa8075 I know that I would've liked to say that stuff to Helios and the other gods that wronged him and had the audacity to condone his actions like they were without faults. Too late to say since Helios is long gone.
Are there some dialogues that appear only when you survive on the first run ?
Honestly, my own World of Warcraft character; Karzeth Menethan, he'd get along great with Kratos. He's been through about a small fraction of what Kratos has, but he's got almost as many mental scars as Kratos. I got a little choked up hearing Kratos recount his sins and Valhalla basically giving him his forgiveness. He needed this. Badly. I hope I can find Kratos' level of peace in my own lifetime. As should others before they die. I'm only 31. But I feel like I have lived enough for at least two people so far.
I'm surprised that more memories where put in like Acensions story or his real brother Damos
Kratos sbd Tyr are probably gonna be one of the coolest bromances ever😎😁👍🏾
I miss two hunter armor pieces, where can i find them?
Is this just me or Kratos mouth in the thumbnail look hilariously weird
Hahaha yea it’s like a horse’s teeth

Fear. Deceit. A! Vanity. Hatred...
Helios: *owes Kratos for saving him and vice-versa, then chooses to lie to Kratos about the Flame of Olympus*
Also Helios: "That was completely unnecessary!"
Maybe, but that still makes you a dickhead too, Helios
Same
OF COURSE HELIOS IS BITTER. It truly was one of the most egregious acts Kratos ever did.
Beheading Helios wasn’t even close to his most egregious act i’m not gonna lie 💀
Was there a mention of Kratos' brother in this dlc?
I'd say don't lose your head Helios but oh wait.....
I honestly find it hilarious helios blames kratos for his death when kratos was willing to spare his life. Like all bro had to do was tell kratos what he wanted and helios would of gotten off scot free
They forgot to finish Athena in this dlc
Athena is still alive. And she clearly has plans, they cant use her yet.
@@SmartAss4123She's literally dead, and it's unknown what the hell she's doing since her appearance in GOW 4 was only a nightmare.
@@robotx9285 She never died in GOW3 dude. The Athena we saw in 2018 was not her.
Have none of you played the game?
@@SmartAss4123 Last I checked, Athena took a blade to her chest at the end of GoW 2, than appeared in GoW 3 as a spirit.
At the minimum, her physical body is dead and only her soul survives.
Also, I literally said the Athena we saw in GoW 4 was a nightmare, meaning she wasn't real.
Finally, I said it's unknown what the hell she's doing, because the last we ever see of the her true self is in GoW 3.
And from what I heard, in universe, nobody knows what she's been doing during any of the events past GoW 3.
@@robotx9285she's alive (sorta).
We see her in the comics that follow Kratos post GoW3 (and yes, those comics are canon, contrary to the book). She torments Kratos and talk about his destiny while he roams Egypt after escaping Greece.
So yeah, she's very much alive in that spiritual form and still capable of bothering Kratos in other mythologies.
Everything Helios said was true
God of war Valhalla missing just the story of God of war 3
Why do i think that, dlc is served nothing more than a Kratos' Therapy 🤔
This may seem kinda silly but its a serious question... is Tyr... Jesus?
Whoever wrote the script for Helios sounds like a liberal
