Amazing Interview Ryan ! So many Great questions and great information! So awesome to have Joe on since he doesn't do alot of these and Oscar is always great.
Excellent interview! Thanks for asking some of the tough questions. Understandably they had to tiptoe around some of their responses but really, they were a lot more transparent than I expected. Which was great! We as the consumers can be quick to criticize and we have that right. But conversations like this help paint the picture of everything going on behind the scenes. They can’t make everyone happy and tough calls need to be made. And most of the time, it’s just business but yeah… I’m not sure where I am going with this comment haha. Anyways, great conversation, Ryan. This was good stuff. And any content we get with Oscar is always a good time.
Great interview as always! Thanks for asking about the Current Vinegar Syndrome Asia line...not the answer I was hoping for lol but glad someone finally asked the question!
Didn't they dodge that question or did I miss something? They said they wanted VSA to be the movies in the video store back then, that was in the back, stacked, that no one rented. But there was only a few Asian films in the video stores back then. I'm not hating, just a bit confused.
I think the best month they have had is November 2019: angel collection, Tammy and the t-Rex, spookies and the candy snatchers. In my eyes that’s hard to top.
Honestly- GREAT call. Candy Snatchers is one of my favorite movies they've done, Spookies was an incredible disc release with the docs on it, and Tammy was their first 4K release. HUGE deal.
I'm not sure that's really the true reason.. I love queer cinema and it just felt like a very out-of-left-field title for the line if you ask me. The guy who runs the line says it fits within the parameters of what they're trying to do with the line, but if you look at the directors of the films they've featured in the line up until "Go Fish", it just doesn't fit to me. To each their own though. Can't quibble with a film that hasn't had a big audience or home video presence getting a light shined on it.
@lordgodkingbufu2158 I'm saying when you look at the pedigree of the directors featured in the line up to "Go Fish", that one title is the odd man, or woman, out.

Thanks, Eric! Yeah- Joe REALLY doesn't do these so I was glad to be able to take this and run with it!

So glad you enjoyed it, Eric! Working on pressing on some more of the serious issues in these.

@@ward8286 I didn’t catch that part, what did they say? Thanks
Thanks, Michael! I had to. It is on all of our minds.
The commenter meant VSA. He was joking about calling it Vinegar Syndrome Asia.

This was a good interview. I'm glad the Cannibal situation was addressed in this.
Thanks! I knew I had to mention it. It has not been a great situation overall...
Great interview. Found you in Bluesky! Subscribed...
@@TheDxanakin hey hey! Thanks for coming over! Glad you found us :)
RIP Champagne And Bullets 😭😭😭
She's sleeping well on eBay.
@TheDiscConnected Yeah, I immediately went over to ebay and bought a copy for like $100 😅😭
Brilliant interview, as always!
You're the best, Krit!
Excellent interviews Oscar and Joe they are best guy during working finding on new transfer restoration looks beautiful on 4k scan.
Incredibly important to archive film the way they do!
@TheDiscConnected yes it is incredible true and also i love those guys so much working so hard since they use to be working at video store all time.

I knew he was gonna say "Go Fish" hahah.. I love that label though, it started out very strong, bought every title up until "Go Fish."
You should! It is better than about half of the other ones on the label.
@@TheDiscConnected I think we have wildly different tastes, "Red Rock West", "Dangerous Game" and "Touch" are my favorites in the line so far.
@ understandable! Those are highlights for sure.
Great interview, love those boys.
Thanks for hanging out with us!
Man we need those 70s South African action movies haha Great interview Ryan.
THIS WAS THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT!! Give me those!
Great questions!
Thanks, Manager!
How come we haven't gotten Deep Throat in 4K?
I believe they said years ago that they just dob't like the movie.
@TheDiscConnected what??! That film is a milestone of adult cinema. I'd love all the extras like a documentary on Linda Lovelace's life.
@@Just_a_good_old_boy I agree on the documentary! I would LOVE to work on bonus features on some of the hardcore titles.
Curious why they never brought the mini slips back It's been 10 years it was a one and done Did they not sell well
They did! They sold out VERY quickly! I wish they would.
10 / 10 interview. You have really become a great interviewer.
Thanks
Go Fish didn't do as well because there's a loud minority of bigots :/
ABSOLUTELY true. Physical media (and horror specifically) has a HUGE number of them.

@@BabyfaceThompson How is it way out of left field when it fits in perfectly with the timespan and the purpose including highlighting indie films?
