• Van Halen Eruption Gui...
This was 1986 ,he was 30 .Check this solo at 60 years old ,Eruption Tokyo Dome and see how amazing he really was.
What does that mean?
I was trying to remember the year of the tour. What is 60 years old?
@@Darin-j3wEddie was 60 years old in the Tokio Dome concert
Check 83. Spanish Fly and Secrets.
There were a few of us who were fortunate enough to see this virtuoso during their heyday...the scary part is that he made it look so easy, and yet, imo, it's uncopyable...he truly changed everything with his innovative playing.
So skilled, he could run and jump all over the stage while playing all those songs, riffs, hooks and solos while staying completely in the pocket. One of a kind.
Got to see Van Halen 4 times in my day. All shows were in the Roth era.
@@summergivens242 Awesome! I was lucky enough to see them on their very first tour...April of 1978....they were first one..played the entire debut LP, followed by Montrose and headlined by Journey. What a show...of course, VH blew everyone away!! Oh yeah...$7.00 a ticket.
@@benavich8 Cool ! what a line up and opener....I first saw them when they were on tour with Van Halen II. They were the opener for Boston, The Outlaws, and Poco if you can believe that. Eddie put on a great show....I remember he would run and jump up against tge amps making them rock back and forth. Those were good times in rock n roll. 1979 tour.
@@summergivens242 Very cool, Summer! It's neat when my kids and grandkids ask about the "old days with concerts....I have a collection of saved ticket stubs, and they are simply flabbergasted when they see the prices...ha!
The King....💣🎸🤘........RIP Eddie❤😢
I can't imagine going through life and not listening to Van Halen's music it's like living in spiritual poverty ... now u know .. cheers
Had the privilege of seeing them live 4 times. Got better every time. He was amazing to watch. In my opinion he was the GOAT. He loved what he did and you could tell that when ever he played. He was at home on stage and he gave it his all. RIP Edward Van Halen. You are gone but will never be forgotten. You inspired so many and changed rock and roll forever. Thank you for all the great times and memories that I will carry for the rest of my life. A fan forever.
He was a complete gift to music. RIP Eddie. Thanks for all of the fun memories. 🎶. 🎶
Yes Eddie was the GOAT & also his awesome brother Alex plays the drums. Van Halen blew everyone away when they launched in 1978 bc when the world heard Eddie they had never heard a sound like that before. They started out with the original lead singer David Lee Roth & in this video shows the second lead singer Sammy Hagar then later on with a third singer Gary Cherone but it has always been a Dave vs Sammy war for years. I personally like them all but Eddie is still my #1. In 2007 the band reunited with Dave in which i saw them all for the first time & along came Eddie's son Wolfgang playing bass. Definitely gotta check out his band Mammoth WVH, Wolfie wrote his music, does the vocals & plays all the instruments in the studio then goes out with his touring band in which they're touring right now. Unchained is one of my fav VH songs, aint talkin bout love, Jamie's cryin, hear about it later, cabo wabo, when its love, poundcake, humans being. RIP Eddie 1955-2020❤️🤍🖤
11:27 - It's even crazier if you consider that this part, which is an instrumental called Spanish Fly, was originally recorded with a classical guitar with nylon strings!
One of the great moments of my life was sitting 15 feet away from Eddie watching him do this very extended intro. It was amazing. RIP to the GOAT ! EVH!
Two songs:
Jimi Hendrix - "House Burning Down" from the album "Electric Ladyland" - released in 1968.
Johnny Winter - "Fast Life Rider" from the album "Second Winter." released in 1969.
Two of the best guitarists to ever swing the axe. 🎸🎸
Great reaction, guys!!!! RIP TO THE GREATEST ROCK N ROLL GUITARIST EVER!!!! Eddie was 1 of 1!!! Long live, Eddie Van Halen!!!
For being almost 40 years ago it still sounds awesome today.
Funny thing, as kids/teens, his brother Alex whose on the drums, played guitar while Eddie started on the drums. Thank the universe they switched ❤
There will never be another Eddie !!! Completely changed everything a guitar could be !!!
Eddie was definitely 1 of 1 man!!! RIP EDDIE!!!!!!
The late great Eddie Van Halen!
The top three guitarist in the world Eddie Van Halen may he rest in peace
Eddie was bad ass and so cute. I want to cry!
Was fortunate to see it live and it was jaw-dropping. I miss him.
Eddie Van Halen, there is no substitute. RIP
you guys have so much to check out. mean street is good, dirty movies is a song that opens with some of the best guitar work I have ever heard. Been around since these guys started. early 70's
For a great fun Van halen track to start off with i would recommend I'm the one. Cheers
This is my first time sitting in with you today, thank you for allowing me to do that! I enjoyed the time I spent here, I subscribed and left a like for you while I was here, continued success with your channel!
Thank you for the heart, I appreciate it very much!
RIP Eddie, the GOAT
While performing in small club gigs,a small part of this sole Eddie used as a warm up exercise.Making their debut album(1978)) this solo was recorded all in one tape & it led into another track..Eddie liked to experiment so this solo grew longer. He never played it the same. 1978-2015.They were one of a few bands that brought in the 80's LA glam nair metal era
Saw them in the early 80's DLR was frontman..Toronto Maple Leaf Gardens..it was 40yrs ago for me wow✨ RIP Eddie 💔
You might enjoy the Van Halen scene in the 80s comedy Better Off Dead. Funny movie. "Two dollars."
We love you we miss you Edward❤❤❤
When Eddie Van Halen first came out he either encouraged guitar players to continue or made guitar players give up. I threw mine in the closet.
I watch every reaction to this vid.....I was there both nights on the floor on the right hand side...20 years old with hair down to my ass....I highly recommend you watch the entire concert "Live without a Net"....hell of a show....from what I can remember....I think?......................Peace!
We will definitely check it out thank you!
And it’s so cool that you got to experience this live! I’m sure it was insane in that crowd! 😮🔥
How The Goat loved playing that guitar.
Check out his interview on, What it means to be an American, where his guitar was inducted into the Smithsonian museum. He explains everything. Coming to America after WWII, couldn't speak English, all the way to what you are watching. And did the guitar solo for Michael Jacksons, Beat It. Free...
Saw them in 82 and Eddie was Crazy!!
Check out "Summer Nights" by them (live version) and you'll see the whole band doing what they do best.
Great reaction! Eddie was the best. Jimmy was great but sadly gone too soon and Stevie is probably the best blue's guitarist ever but Eddie is the greatest Rock and Roll guitar player ever! His innovations and patents with the guitar will last forever. RIP Eddie ❤
Go ahead man go ahead dig it
Y'all need to check out the drum solo from the same show.
He was in possesion of the Pick Of Destiny. It is the only logical explanation. 😂😂
The GOAT 🐐
Just because it's 3 days away, give Van Halen - Summer Nights a listen.
RIP Eddie the guitar God
Crazy story... His brother (the drummer) got a guitar when they were kids. Eddie decided he wanted drums.
One day, Eddie came home from school, and heard his brother Alex playing his drums. At first he was mad, then realized how good Alex was.
His reaction?.. "I guess I better learn how to play that stupid guitar'...
Stevie ray Vaughn, Texas flood live. He is what you would call amazing.
😊 we miss you buddy😢😢😢
thank you
How can anyone have that much talent????
Eddie was the G.O.A.T. ... period
Great video. If you liked that you should react to these Van Halen Youtueb videos: Jump, Panama and Hot for Teacher. They are GREAT videos. Take care.
Saw them 4 times and the highlight was always Eddie's solo.
Eddie = The King
R.I.P Eddy
Try the live version of Summer Nights next
EVH just had his own unique thing going on. His creativity, tinkering around with guitars, swapping out guitar's parts, amps and trying to find original sounds, was nearly obsessive. And tunes like this is the result.
Anthony Van Halen playing the drums Eddie Van Halen's real brother in real life
Alex
Eddie is guitar player on beat it Michael Jackson listen and check him playing live with Michael in Dallas concert
Welcome to the Van Halen fan club, eFamily! Major conversations happen all the time regarding "best" or "greatest" guitarist in Rock history. When you get to levels of people like Eddie, you realize it's not about competition, but how his passion and personality drive his immense influential power on this instrument. I will list some other guitarists you would really appreciate and that are arguably as great, but in different ways than EVH. Shredding for the sake of shredding is a not attractive to me, Although there are some extremely talented players that can demonstrate instrumental dexterity, it's not something you really want to go back and listen to. EVH was different in that all his work had a clear melodic and general musical attractiveness. He had an innate capability of creating new and different sounds, while still making music. Some of my other favorites are Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmy Hendrix, B.B. King, Jimmy Page (from Led Zeppelin, as much for his production talents as his guitar playing), David Gilmour (from Pink Floyd, also awesome voice), Mark Knopfler (from Dire Straits), Eric Clapton, Robert Cray....there are just so many!!!!
Live without a net is the name of the full concert and the whole concert is on youtube. ruclips.net/video/MsehEPyyXVQ/видео.html
Have you ever heard of Nightwish? Ghost Love Score live in Wacken
I subscribed to your channel after seeing the Van Halen love. Check out "Dance the night away", "Jamie's Crying", "Beautiful Girls" & "Little guitars (w/intro)by Van Halen. Those songs will get you started.
Thanks!
Fire... Right here. Watch painkiller by Judas priest lol
So Beethoven❤
I own a couple guitars. I also have a picture of Eddie eating a sandwich. That might seem weird, but I have it to remind myself that there was something Eddie could do that I can do too.
So few see him change styles at 7:40 ish.
He plays by knob …..unreal that he is showcasing these new styles of playing , he used to turn his back so we couldn’t see how he was seducing that guitar!
Eddie is considered by most to be the best guitarist. It's like him and Jimi Hendrix.
Has anyone ever charted or tabbed this solo?
Just a little heads up for the video again on my music scholar if you pay close attention most of these music scales are Beethoven a lot of it's Beethoven Beethoven baby😅😅😅
The men are like" damn that boy can play fast" the ladies are like" yeah look how fast his fingers go"😅 yeah we see you ladies 😂

two of these "tracters" are one too many. At least.

@@EFamilyMedia
1..Randy Rhoads
2..Jimi Hendrix
3..Jimmy Page
4..Eric Clapton

Her reaction was so genuine. You guys should check out the band.
Yeah, but with Diamond Dave as front man. Not Sammy
@@scottlaughlin9897absolutely. Dave made all the videos cool.
There will never be another like Eddie Van Halen. R.I.P.
Possibly never more evident than when performing eruption solo that Eddie was doing what he loved and loved what he was doing.
RIP EVH he forever changed the music world.
Brother Alex on the skins.
Need to watch the live version of the song 5150. From the same concert 1986. Live without a net concert. The guitar playing that video is amazing.
Saw Van Halen Live 16 times and Eddie blew my mind every time...The G.O.A.T...
Love this new generation watching one of the greatest guitar player in the world 👍👍thank you.
He was the greatest. Nobody else has had the same impact on guitar..
Rest in peace Edward Van Halen. Noone can play like the king.
I was fortunate enough to have seen him do this live multiple times. They were my favorite band, and when Eddie would do his solo section, we all knew we were witnessing greatness. RIP Eddie
Legend! EVH RIP!!
♥ ♥ ♥ LOVE the reaction!! :) Maybe check out NEIL PEART Buddy Rich HONOR?????!!!!!!!!! :) ♥ “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~ Romans 15:13
I'm not a big fan of " Eruption ". Although everyone has a right to their own opinion . Just like many reactors when first listening to ACDC " Thunderstruck ". They think it's the best they've ever heard by them. They're forgetting all the Bon Scott and the " Flick Of The Switch " which I think is a superb album and highly underrated .
EDWARD THE GREAT....RIP brother. Nice reaction guys ☘️🚬
I seen them when i was 16 yrs old eddie at that time was phenomenal...i remember when that first record came out 78 i was 14....couldnt believe that sound...cheers from an old school metalhead..kansas city
Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, untouchable.
We lost arguably the greatest guitarist to have ever picked up the guitar in 2020 when Eddie Van Halen died from complications from having throat cancer he believed came from the guitar picks that he used and would put into his mouth when he was playing for long periods of time at home. He was known to spend up to 18 hours playing his guitar. He never took any lessons and was completely self taught. He and his older brother took piano lessons as children and he later played the keyboard in their later albums with Sammy Hagar as the lead singer. He built his first guitar because they did not have enough money for him to buy him a guitar. He had bought his first drum set and while he was out delivering newspapers his brother got better at playing the drums so he decided to take up teaching himself to play the guitar. His first guitar was a thrown out second guitar body from a local guitar manufacturer and he picked up second hand neck and electrical pickups and infernal parts of his guitar anywhere that he was able to find them. That guitar was lovingly named the "FRANKENSTRAT". by his fans. He kept it up until he passed away. His guitar's are known for their intricate paint jobs and crazy stripped graphics. When he came onto the music scene in the late 70's no one had ever seen or had ever heard the things that he was able to do and the sounds that he was able to get from his guitar. They were not a well established band so he had to figure out how to make all of these sounds and manifold what the expensive guitar pedals were able to do for the other guitarist's that could afford to buy the expensive effects pedals that the other other guitarist's had. He was truly a gifted musician and an incredible prodigy. Many people called him a Savant and true genius. Many of my personal favorites are from their early one like the song "MEAN STREETS" and "SPANISH FLY". You should check out their first couple of albums and maybe their last few with Sammy Hagar. It was truly amazing and incredible music!!
12:38 That's the Nut note.
Here's some more great live solos. Stevie Ray Vaughn's TEXAS FLOOD from his live from el mocambo show, Joe Satriani's SURFING WITH THE ALIEN(LIVE) and then the live version of TENDER SURRENDER by Steve Vai. All are amazing and totally different from each other.
You guys have to check out Eddie’s son Mammoth WVH (Wolfgang Van Halen). Also, check out Stevie Ray Vaughan, “Texas Flood” Live at the El Mocambo. Historic performance
