the singer is Bill Champlin. He has been with them from 1981 to 2009.He has sung numerous songs with Chicago. My favorite being"Look Away".
Me too
For many years Peter Cetera, Robert Lamm and Terry Kath shared lead vocals. 😊
They had three lead singers from the beginning. Other singers have come and gone. the consistent thing has always been the horns. The soft rock image began to take shape after the death of lead guitarist Terry Kath around 1977-78. Yes, Peter became what would be known as the voice of Chicago the band. After he left for a solo career several different artist tried to assume that position.
This came out on in 1988 on the album Chicago 19 with Bill Champlin singing lead. It’s the first single with Champlin singing lead. Peter Cetera was a member of Chicago from 1967 to 1985.
Champlin shared co-lead with Scheff on Chicago 18's 'Will You Still Love Me?" although it was mainly Scheff's voice we hear the most, since it was his big debut hit with Chicago after replacing Cetera. You can hear Champlin's voice distinctly on the line "I've gotta lot of love and I don't wanna let go."
@@algallego Shared vocals also on 17's Hard Habit To Break with Cetera
A little trivia, most people don't know that Bill Chaplin spent more time in Chicago than Peter Cetera due to the aura of Cetera dominance in the band.
Lamm and Cetera both started in 67. Cetera left in 85. ❤
Another Cetera song with Chaka Khan is 'Feels Like Heaven.' Other songs from Peter are 'Have You Ever Been in Love,' 'The Last Place God Made' off the same album (World Falling Down -- (Post Chicago). He has a song called Scheherazade" with Madonna on his second post Chicago album (One More Story) called 'One Good Woman.' Definitely check out the Madonna background vocals tune.
Champlin sung co-lead with Peter Cetera on Chicago 17's Hard Habit to Break as well and had a number of songs on Chicago 18 singing lead, Chicago 19 (Look Away, You're Not Alone), Chicago Twenty 1 (Explain It To My Heart, Chasin' The Wind), etc.
You might want to check out Jason Scheff on lead vocals on several albums beginning with Chicago 18 (~1985-86); Jason replaced Cetera on lead vocals, sometimes sharing co-lead with Champlin on such songs as "Will You Still Love Me?" off of Chicago 18. You might want to check out the extended cut of that song here:

On this song the lead is sung by Bill Champlin. When Chicago started off as the Big Thing, Peter Cetera saw them perform. Peter was already in a band but they were breaking up. So the Big Thing asked Peter to join. They changed their name to Chicago Transit Authority. The line up of the band consist of horn section: Lee Loughne,Walt Parazaider and Jimmy Pankow. Peter Cetera on bass lead/vocals ,Terry Kath Guitar lead/vocals, Danny Saraphine drums, and Robert Lamm Keyboards lead/vocals. Peter Ceter left the band in 1985 because he didn’t want constant tour and persue a solo career. He was replace by Jason Scheff until 2016. Jason was replaced by Jeff Coffey until 2018. Now the have Neil Donell as a lead singer.
Can't go wrong with a Chicago song!
One of my all time favorites! Thank You for playing! The words!!!!
I know many fans didn’t like it but Chicago 17 was their best selling album ever.
Early Chicago with Terry Kath was a wonderful, super talented musical band with great compositions. Here's some of their best songs IMO.
Album - Song
Chicago Transit Authority - Introduction, Beginnings, Does Anybody Really Know What Time it is? Questions 67 & 68
Chicago II - Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon, 25 or 6 to 4
Chicago V - Now That You've Gone, Dialogue Pt 1 & Pt 2, Saturday in the Park
Chicago VI - Just You 'N' Me, Something in This City Changes People, Hollywood, Feelin' Stronger Every Day
Chicago VIII - Brand New Love Affair Pt I & II, Never Been in Love Before
I refuse to get into another Chicago debate LOL. Many older fans just worship Terry Kath and despise the bands evolution into soft rock gods. Lead singer was a role that was shared between a few of them over the years. The most recognized lead singers from the band is Peter Cetera, Robert Lamm, and Jason Scheff.
I have one for ya>>>> The Troggs>>>> "Love is all around"!!!! from the sixties got cha😁
Since you're doing Yacht Rock, the Chicago song to listen to would be If You Leave Me Now.
Love this song! Love your reactions. ❤❤
three singers All kind of talent Watch some of the old ones live. You will see
Need to listen to "If you leave me now"
I never really could get into Chicago for some reason...obviously a flaw in me since they were a huge success...but I LOVE this reaction...y'all are so good together!
Have you done Me and Mrs Jones by Billy Paul? Great song.
Can you react to missing you!!! The Beach boys often tour with Chicago and they sing backup on missing you
“I don’t want to live without your love “ by Foreigner .. great rock jam from the 80’s
❤❤❤
Getting back to the Chicago transit authority / Chicago, the Terry Kath days are essential if you haven't yet. 25 or 6 to 4 live at Tanglewood is a must. I'm a man, Saturday in the park, Colour my world, Make me smile...so many great ones.
c When your reaction to their song, Hard Habit to Break, Peter sang with those 2, Bill Champlin was heavy, beard, great voice,, then got long hair, shaved, lost weight... that's Rock n Roll! Other one on piano, was in start of band, always sang behind Peter, had several hits with him singing, but never top singer in band. So they had 3 singers, like Eagles had 4, many have 2. Peter was replaced, that one still in band, fans never accepted him, not his fault, okay singer, but who can replace Peter???
As a longtime Chicago fan, I accept Jason Scheff. But like you said, who can replace Cetera? lol nobody
Y'all need to check out Robbie Dupree "Hot Rod Hearts", you will love it, fits right in with this journey you're currently on.... Trust me ☮

Enjoyed
Thank you ❤️
This wasn't Robert Lamm. This was Bill Champlin on lead... I think. His vocals were used to replace Cetera when he left. As you might know already, Chicago started out with 3 members of the band sharing lead vocal duties... Lamm, Kath, and Cetera. You guys should check out some of the earlier stuff, with Lamm and Kath singing lead. Different from the later mid '80's songs, but equally good, if not, better!
Hope my history lessons help 😂
Most definitely thank you 😄
Bands evolve, I wasn't a fan of the new Chicago.
As a fan of the entire Chicago history, I can respect that opinion.
This band may be called Chicago, but it’s not Chicago.
