“Karate kid 2” was this song
Definitely! And what a great song and movie
Have to agree …in the 80s we had a lot of iconic voices Peter Cetera, Steve Perry, Michael Jackson, The BeeGees…..
Weird Al
Peter Cetera is and always will be the voice of the group Chicago... His vocals are unmatched even today in my opinion... This was from the movie "Karate Kid 2"... There are trailers of the movie that contain this song within it and it makes for an awesome listening and watching experience... I'm going to keep looking on your channel and I'm curious to see what you're going to do next... I like this rabbit hole you guys are going down... I'm 67 years old and I'm happy to see that the songs that I listened to as a young man are enjoyed by you young people of this generation... Chicago is one of my top 5 groups of all time that I enjoy listening to... My favorite group of any genre Is ABBA... Great reaction guys... Can't wait to see the next one that you're going to react to... Keep Being Awesome !!!...
Hi man, I'm eighty one years old and still have Chicago vinals in my collection. One of THE best bands of the late seventies early eighties. Peter Cetera has still got the the Charisma and the voice hasn't changed much as he's gotten older (as we all do eh!)
When tasha pointed to her chest and asked did you feel it, i understand that feeling. When i hear a song i grew up with , the nostalgia hits you there, you get like a whoosh feeling deep in your chest.
facts😃
Because of how this song was placed in "Karate Kid II," (that there was a castle in the background during it) my friends and I (during the early 2000's) created the phrase, "Wow, Peter Cetera. Your lyrics are wicked accurate." This is used to dismiss someone who isn't helping the situation or stating the obvious.
“Just like a knight in shining armour, from a long time ago, just in time I will save the day, take you to my castle far away.” ❤️🔥💪🏼🏰
I had forgotten how beautiful this song was. Thanks for the memories.
This guy has an impeccable voice...such depth and control. One of the very best.
This song was an anthem to guys even though it’s a romantic song because it was in the Karate Kid movie, 80’s power ballad
"Hard habit to break" and "You're the inspiration" are Amazing songs❤
Chicago is a great, long-surviving band that had many different lead singers & different band members. Peter Cetera was one of my favorite lead singers of this group. I beleive this song may have one a Grammy award & I believe David Foster (mulit-Grammy award song writer & producer) is one of the composers for this song. Memorable love song!
I love Peter Cetera
Peter Cetera is one of my faves saw him live and sounds the same or better, i enjoy younger people enjoying the great singers.
You are spot on with being up there with Journey......both incredible artists
Love y'all thanks for keeping music alive
Aww, it takes me back to my youth and Karate Kid 2. 😊 Such a beautiful song.
Luv peter cetera. Loved all his leads when he was in group Chicago
😭😭😭😭 I miss you Phil Wise. RIP MY LOVE.....thanks for the video.. I truly enjoyed it. Love Peter Cetera. 👍💯
Singing style was a result of "Four Marines didn't like a long-haired rock 'n' roller in a baseball park," Cetera later recalled in the liner notes to the Chicago box set. "And of course I was a Cub fan, and I was in Dodger Stadium, and that didn't do so well. I got in a fight and got a broken jaw in three places, and I was in intensive care for a couple of days.”
“I had a broken jaw and I was wired shut for a few months,” Cetera said in 2009. “And when they cut the wires off, I was always afraid of my jaw sticking open again, so I don’t really open my mouth a lot when I sing.” In the meantime, given time to think - lots of it - Cetera found himself, for the first time, moved to create. Cetera went on to write or co-write some of Chicago’s most familiar songs including, "Baby, What a Big Surprise," "Feelin’ Stronger Everyday" and "If You Leave Me Now," which became the group’s first No. 1 single. Peace out.
This song was in Karate Kid 2. Amazing song! Can’t believe I was so blessed to hear this song and so many others like it on my car stereo everyday. Man…I’m so glad I was a teenager in the 80s. Blessed!!! And btw…Journey is still my favorite band since 1981.
Love this song and his voice.
Peter cetera did a duet with cher called “after all”
Great stuff! As a metaldude i can't help just love Cetera's voice.
My gosh, this brings me back to being an adolescent in the movie theater with my best friend watching Karate Kid 2. **sigh** I miss those days sooo much!!!! 😭❤️
AHHHHHH T, YOU GOT HER, GOTCHAAAA! 😮YOU DIDN'T SEE 2, YOU SAW THE ORIGINAL! 😊 THAT WAS GR8888!
This song was from Peter Cetera's first solo album after he'd left the group Chicago. 'Glory of Love' initally was the soundtrack to the movie Rocky IV but plans were changed then lyrics were changed as the song became the soundtrack for The Karate Kid Part II (1986) It was a huge hit for Cetera hitting Number 1 on the Billboard Charts and received a Grammy nomination. Another number 1 hit from this same album was a ballad with Amy Grant called 'Next Time I Fall in Love'
Far as nostalgia, I remember there was a market for the Karate Kid. Enrollment for karate skyrocketed after the first movie across the country. There were also merchandise, posters, booklets, stickers, etc. I do recall begging my old man for $5 so i could get the Karate Kid II booklet at my school's book fair that contained scenes from the movie and a small poster if I could remember. Wish I couldve kept it, dont remember what happened to it.
Far as Soft Rock/Mellow Gold became popular in the mid 70s til I wanna say into the early 80s thanks to artists like Christopher Cross who'd continued the Soft Rock era into the early 80s. Time Life music has a collection of Mellow Gold music you should check out that has various artists in a CD.
Actually it's his second solo album. He released one in 1981. Don't remember the title though...
@@johansjoberg8388 Right, but id mentioned it was his first solo album "after" he'd left Chicago. The '81 album was self titled when he was still with the group.
Peter is the voice of Chicago......no one else ever came close.
Agree to a point, but Bill Champlin did a great job on Look Away, their 3rd and final #1 hit
@@allenwhitmer8192 He's good, but not close to Peter's legendary voice.
@@DanielFrost21 No, no I know
Peter has an iconic voice, I totally agree. But when I think of Chicago, I think of Terry Kath. His voice was the blues, so much soul. Not to mention his brilliant guitar work. I feel like he gets overlooked quite often. R.I.P. So young, so much talent. Robert Lamm was no slouch either. Three great vocalists, impeccable musicianship all the way around. One of the best bands ever.
@@MrHarper00 Terry was incredible, a great voice and of course his guitar playing was mind blowing.
I've always thought of him as the heart and soul of Chicago, and Peter as the voice of the band. I think the loss of Terry affected the band more than when Peter left. Chicago never fully recovered from Terry's passing.
Tasha - check out Peter's song Have You Ever Been in Love. Will MELT you like BUTTER right out of your chair.
"No I didn't feel it right there." 😂😂😂
Great reaction guys! This song got a lot of airplay back then. And as others have mentioned, it was the soundtrack for Karate Kid 2 which was a commercial success and was one of the highest grossing films of 86. You'll enjoy it.
Love it guys. Chicago & Cetera will always go hand-n-hand for me.
Can't go wrong with a Chicago song! Timeless stuff right there.
You wanted to know more or less when this type of music strarted to change, I would say around the late 80’s early 90’s when hip hop, rap, and acid rock started to appear if I’m not mistaken.
As a 49 year old man I will openly admit Dirty Dancing is a pretty good movie. You should give it a chance.
Ha Ha, it's been my favourite for a long long time guys. Chicago with Peter Cetera were phenominal! Peter has since done some live stuff (in his late sixties early seventies) with David Foster, whom he also collabortated with on so many of his great hits. Check out David Foster featuring Peter Cetera (and other great artists including Brian Macknight and Josh Groban.) well worth a look. Thanks for your reactions. loved it.
I was just thinking of this song and here you are reacting to it.... Actually recently the guitarist in this song, Dann Huff, was interviewed... The video is on youtube.... He is the same guitarist on some of MJ's songs, Madonna, M, Bolton etc...and even Mariah Carey's Merry Christmas album... 😅
Another one of his top 10 hits from around the same time( Late 80's) is One Good Woman.
It makes me cry too!
Not long been a subscriber but I love your relationship. Lots of love and lots of jokes and funny times. Much love from the UK x❤
Congratulations on 200K!
Thank you.
Great Song.
Peter Cetera was to Chicago what Michael McDonald was to the Doobie Brothers
Kids!! This was a sub theme to the Karate Kid 2
Listen to "If You Leave Me Now"...good Chicago song with Peter Cetera singing
We went from...I Just Want To Be Your Everything, to...From the window to the wall... PS Karate Kid 2 movie / soundtrack.
You can hear David Fosters influence here too. He produced Chicago 17 and several others in his hay day in the 80s and 90s. He produced, wrote, arranged and played mostly piano on many albums from pop, R&B, Jazz, Rock, Country and Classical. Who he’s worked with is almost every big name in music including Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Stevie Nicks, Celine Dion, Dolly Parton and many, many more he has won 16 Grammys of 47 nominations. I suggest you check out Celine Dion and Andreas Bocelli “The Prayer” which he wrote and produced.
It was on the sound track of the OG movie ‘Karate Kid’ I believe pt 2. Great reaction!🎉❤❤
Also, check out Peter Cetera duets with Amy Grant and Patti Labelle
Your the Inspiration and the duet Peter Cetera did with Amy Grant are songs you might enjoy. There is only one Peter Cetera and no one can out sing him.
I've always loved this song. It's always on a playlist on whatever device I'm listening to music on.
Karate Kid 2 is the film it was on.
Another fantastic, and somewhat less mainstream soft rock classic is the song "Someday" by MLTR (Michael Learns to Rock)
I'm guessing you've never seen "Karate Kid Two"? This was the love theme for that movie.
Great set... Backdrop . Looking real good
Check out Peter Cetera and Cher's song " After All".
Y'all are awesome! Love your reactions and analysis!
Fantastic Tune
T, you have to watch Dirty Dancing! Have a Patrick Swayze double feature. Watch the original Road House and then watch Dirty Dancing. They're both great. Then watch The Karate Kid II. This song is from The Karate Kid II soundtrack. Watch the video for this song and it will get your read to watch the movie.
Congratulations on 200k
You need to react to Peter Cetera and Cher duet After all that we been through a great song
It was in Karate Kid 2.
Schmaltzy, the word I used to describe tunes like this, back in the day…great composition though! …and isn’t it amazing that Peter can belt out a ballad like this, but still rock some of the heavier, early Chicago stuff?! Testament to his awesome vocals! ❤️ me some soft rock, btw…
Excellent
First time I heard this song was from the movie Karate Kid 2.
This is from Karate Kid 2, I believe
You should listen to his song daddy's girl from the movie 3 men and a baby
Like people already said it was in Karate Kid 2
Heard this first in Karate Kid 2, the love affair between Daniel and Kumiko. Willing to fight Chozen to the death to defend her.
Peter left the group right before this solo effort. This song was the theme song for KARATE KID II. Peter/Chicago, Bryan Adams, Journey, all these bands had slow songs for us kids that were too self conscious to dance to fast songs. To sway back and forth on the dance floor with a girl at the dance or skating rink, gave us a chance to get close to a girl too. Seeming a little more sappy to me now, I still am nostalgic for these sugar sweet ballads.
Exceptional song. Nice reaction! Thank you!
Peter cetera is the lead singer of Chicago ♥️♥️who sings hard to say I'm sorry perfectly♥️
This was from one of the Karate Kid movies
Glory of Love was in the Karate Kid II movie
Gorgeous song. Was in Karate Kid 2😅
Hi Tee and Tasha lol

It's Karate Kid 2!!
YOU CAN'T MIX UP PETER'S VOCALS! 😊 IT'S NOT LIKE TRYING TO DISTINGUISH THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ( PHIL COLLINS & PETER GABRIEL )😮EPECIALLYYYY IF YOU HAVE NO CLUE! ☹ ENJOY THE GREAT SOFT ROCK EXPERIENCES GUYS!👍
Nothing says Junior High School like this song.
This is from karate kid 2.if you had watched the official video you would see some film clips.
You have to do dirty dancing!
I can't give you an exact year that love songs changed and music went diwn hill.i would guess at 2010+
HEY T, HI TASHA! 😊SO CHICAGO HAD HIT SOUNDTRACKS IN THE ( KARATE KID ) FILMS 👍
Long time no see. Please react to "Kissing a fool " by George Michael. This particular vibe is so smooth and timeless. Bet. 🖤🖤🖤
If you want real blue-eyed soul check out Marc Broussard or Joss Stone. THAT is blue-eyed soul 🎷😎
I love Peter cetera Chicago doesn’t sound right when he’s not singing. Steve Perry is my favorite singer I just love him
All those "genres' came along much later when people were trying to describe the music from back then. At the time. There was not all this dividing of the music. The was hard, and soft rock, RnB, country and western, jazz, and classical. Over the past 25 years terms like "yacht rock" and sub genres were never even heard of back then.
This song is on the karate kid 2 soundtrack
this song is from Karate Kid 2 FYI.
This song is in karate kid part 2
Christopher cross does yacht rock called Sailing
They were a bit on the jazz side before Cetera...then, (and you have to admit) they were smart to write these tunes and get on the charts..it worked. Hard Habit, etc. Cetera does have a great and piercing voice. IMO, the old stuff was better
The karate kid lol
❤Chicago❤
Please watch the music video to this song. Cetera is amazing. 🙏
U have to watch the video.tbis was an hold school track for a movie were the video had clips from the movie
Peter was great and the horns just magnificent. But, best Chicago singer Ever was Glory Self Love Lightfoot.
Cetera, Loggins,Messina and A few namely others lit it up on the charts and movie themes back before love movies were between multi color flesh creatures and metallic semi sapiens. Yeah, the ol LaSalle ran great.....
Music is music if you like it like it all music all genras
Like Steve Perry was Journey, Peter Cetera was Chicago.
OST for Karate Kid Movie
la primera vez que escuchaban esta canción?¿ es que vive adentro de un tupper?
Hi ,I'd like to request a song from 1989 by a group named EL VOGUE from Oakland California.song title ,giving him something . it's about falling in love in the ghetto life
