Just being picky here, but you could have done 10 seconds of math to figure out your exact mileage, rather than "ballparking" it based on a fuel gauge. Fill the car up. Reset your trip odo. Keep track of fuel added vs miles driven per fill up. (miles/gallons) = MPG ...Voila!
When the guy reads it but doesn't reply lol
Sounds like a lot of woke
Have you considered doing the DSG flash to see if it helps with tire spin?
I wish I would have kept that car
I have a 2003 alh manual tdi Jetta Wagon, just went past 300,000 miles, get 42 to 49.6 mpg....love my car.Recently got a stage 1 Malone Tune and had the egr delete.Car runs and drives great with good power.Thinking of getting the stage 2.I do not even start to look for fuel ti'll 500 miles driven and have gone 600 a couple of times.Discovered the fuel neck pressure relief valve and removed it,adding 2 more gallons per fill ups...don't know if they have that on ur spiffy new millennial model......:)
@marcus bustad I've got a 2001 alh TDI. I get 45-52 mpgs continuously. Stage 4 rocket chip, 3" exhaust, 520 race nozzles, ungraded i.c. pipes, and Omi inlet pipe. Get yourself bigger nozzles and straight pipe it. You're mpgs will definitely increase. Don't forget to upgrade the clutch and go to a single mass flywheel. And when your turbo gets sooted up, look up cleaning it with oven cleaner. It 100% works!
@@user-dn6qy1ou1f I will......I was thinking of a stage 2 Malone tune......with that is the race pipe, upgraded clutch and taking out the egr. I have to spend some money getting the a/c replaced 1st so have to be happy with what I have for now.Love the vehicle.....305,000 miles and counting.Winter is knocking here in Minnesota.Just put a new battery in today and new glow plugs before winter too.thanks
@@marcus102361 they are great cars. Keep up on maintenance as you know, and they will last forever. And still get better mpgs than a hybrid lol
Does the Malone tune smoke
I'm actually happy they offer an option that gives you shitloads of torque and still keep the rest of the car stock. I'm seriously considering the Kerma tune and you just helped me make up my mind!
Can you do more videos on the mk7 tdi? Maybe like 0-60 or going through the gears?
We have a 2015 Passat tdi. It’s a fantastic car on flat road I get anywhere from 47 to 53 mpg going 75 mph. That’s awesome. We have the warranty tell 140000 miles. I won’t be able to do any tunes tell out of warranty. It’s my wife’s car and she drives 10 miles each way to work. I am planning on doing a tdi swap on my 69 cj5 that will get the Malone 2 tune with all deletes. It’s gonna be used to pull logs to the sawmill on my property. Thanks for sharing
Once you tune it you’ll fall in love again lol
You can actually use the Kerma tune on a warranty car and redownload the original mapping if ever needed to take into the dealership. The same w this guy, if he wanted to delete down the road he could just use the Kerma OBD2 and reprogram the original mapping
EPA is steadily fining and shutting town diesel truck tuners as we speak if that makes more sense to you. It’s a huge battle with large fines and most companies can’t do it.
It’s terrible and only gotten worse since you’ve commented.
i have a 2014 golf tdi manual transmission. i’m interested in this, but i’m more concerned about mpg’s cause i have a heavy commute. can you comment on how your mpg’s have been since you posted this video? Thanks man!
hey 3guys grarage. how is the tune holding up now and have you encounter any problems?
The car is long gone but never had a single issue with it at all
I have a 2013 VW TDI with 58K I'm giving to my stepdaughter. Did you utilize a DSG Transmission Tune in addition to the ecu tune? The vehicle is a bit sluggish at take off so I feel an engine tune to start is a safe bet so she doesn't hesitate too much.
No they don’t the epa has cracked down on all shops selling tuners
Eric Smith it’s because kerma won’t do a DPF (diesel particulate filter) delete. It makes it completely legal because your not messing with the emissions.
Correct Kerma swears they are able to make more power with DPF than other companies with full deletes
Hey! Did you consider or do the DSG retune in conjunction with your ECU tune? I have the same car and would like to eventually get the Kerma tune but have heard the DSG can experience a shudder with the new power. Let me know your experience and thanks for posting your review!
All the other delete kits are labeled for off road use only holding themselves not responsible. I wonder why they dont have a delete.
Malone is in Canada .. Kerma is in Colorado. It was recently explained to me that they could be subject to $50K fines from the EPA that they just didn't want to risk. Can't blame em.
Just bought a lightly used 2015 TDI as a daily. You're right....my race car/weekend car is a coyote mustang....driving this pisses me off trying to do the most mundane passing on the highway. I'd like to do this tune but i see the car came with an 11 year power train warranty.
G. Warren yes that was by far my biggest complaint was power.... I can’t sit here and say the tune will do anything to your motor or not over a long period of time (I really hope not) but it was worth it for me personally
I second this. My previous car was a mkvi gti. I needed more space and the fuel economy was too good to beat but it was painfully slow. It's not slow anymore, at least not as slow.
Sorry but this is so stupid. What are people thinking that doing a video while driving is a good idea. Stupid and dangerous, period. Just makes no sense. Why do people think this is a good idea!??
Thanks for stopping by
I want to do it but I’m not sure if it’s save and if really works
Jorge Cardenas whatcha mean? The difference in power or save in fuel
In power i want to make the VW Golf tdi faster... and how you InstaL the kermatdi tuner?
Jorge Cardenas not a problem. The power was a big difference.. check in my channel to watch my race vs my brothers stock one
I have a 2015 VW Passat TDI 2.0L and since the fix it's pretty much gimped. Slowest car I have ever owned. Hate it!! Tried an APR tune and there was absolutely NO Difference at all. Got my money back. I still think they did something wrong where the tune never took but I don't know for sure. Maybe those new 2.0 Tdi motors are tamper proof where they can't be tuned? Anyway, it uses Def Blue like it's going out of style. Every 5000 to 7000 miles I have to dump in a couple of gallons of the stuff. On a road trip it told me 1500 miles until no start. about 200 miles later it was dry. Gas mileage also isn't the greatest. 28 mpg in the winter and about 32 to 34 in the summer. This car should get at least 36 to 42 mpg. But I don't even come close. I wonder if this Kerma tune is worth it? And can you get our money back if it doesn't work like with the APR tune?
Will they delete egr trouble codes with the tune?
Rawteck makes a great setup for full emission delete unfortunately this was still full emission car
Hey dude! Thinking of getting this mod but was wondering the process?
u get the tuner then download ur stock shit then email it to kerma and they email u ur tuned files and u plug it in a download it
Sorry for the year late response lol. You get a tuner, plug it into your obd port, upload file, its really that simple
Wtf is a gas light?
Low fuel indicator
Stfu
Any suggestions for 2015 TSI Tune?
Looks good tho
Hello,
Do you know What happens to the warranty, After the installation?
AzKrElTejon it voids it completely
Theodore Marakas thanks for the correction, from the research I’ve done most of it pointed to having the warranty be voivded
@Theodore Marakas you can, but it'll still ne recorded and they'll be able to tell
@Theodore Marakas they can tell its tuned. They can see its been pushing more boost and so on. Or you can get flagged with td1
If you're going to talk about fuel mileage get scientific and do it right, DO THE MATH.
Fill up, note the mileage and write it down, doesn't matter how much fuel you put in, you have nothing to compare it to. Next fuel up (FULL) note the mileage, subtract the first fill-up mile miles from that, then divide the gallons including the fractional gallon, into the total miles traveled between fill-ups. VIOLA! You have a REAL number to talk about. I have the Kerma tune, I love it. My last 10 fill-ups show that I'm getting 43.9mpg. Best ever was 51.1mpg.
It's pure lazy to talk about "I'm getting" BLAH BLAH BLAH miles between fill-ups now. Doesn't mean shit to me. Do it right or forget it.
Lol thanks for the view
Could u do a 0-60 not 20-80? Just message me the time
SamSlays if i could turn off traction control I would but it already spins really hard from a 20 that a dead stop would be pointless
I have a 2015 Golf Sportwagen TDI with the Kerma Stage 1+ tune. 0-60 on my wagon went from 9 sec stock to approximately 7.4 sec with a ton of wheel spin through first and second gear.
Gas mileage ? It’s not a gasser
Without the tune I was averaging 52 mpg. With the tune I'm averaging 48 mpg according to the math. Miles driven since full divided by gallons used to fill the tank back to full.
@J Pea.... quit being a “Pea-on” (aka douchecanoe)! You know what he meant, you know its a common phrase used, you know you’re just being snobby about it being a diesel. You automatically loose all credibility when you correct someone’s spelling or ‘correct’ a common saying on social media. You win 1st place for jack wagon of the year! Congrats!
ski house a diesel owner never uses the terms, gas pedal, gas light and definitely not gas mileage, asshat
@@JP-pl9mv I have two gassers and one diesel and I could not give a fuck what term I use. Cars are cars and tractors use the same shit I heat my house with, don't throw a fit
This is dated and you should delete it.
Why would I delete a video that still gets me watch time and views
