Thank you for the clear instructions. I especially appreciated the demonstration of how to leverage the old cartridge out.
I am super happy this was informative for you!!! And thank you! For watching … 🤗
Have the exact same glacier bay faucet. Very helpful
Awesome to hear you have the same faucet! I'm pleased the video was useful for you. Thanks for watching! 😊🚿🔧
I have the exact same faucet. Wasn't sure about trying to remove the top part since it was welded on pretty good with all the corrosion. Took your advice and soaked it with penetrating oil. Actually have a plumbing socket that fit perfectly. Came off like butter! Thank you SO much for your video!
What size?
@@TheZjlee123 Not sure, but I think it was 1& 1/32". Standard plumbing size.
I have this exact faucet. Great instruction.
Great!! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!!! 😀
My hot water keeps running despite turning the handle in the off position so I’m guessing something is loose or the threading on the cartridge has worn down. I was already getting overwhelmed with the thought of repairing it on my own but you explained it SO well and gave me the confidence I needed. Thank you! 🙏🏽
Thanks for the feedback!! I hope the repair went well on your side…
Another awesome video! I followed one of your vids on changing the cpvc valve on my bathroom, you are awesome! Keep up those vids coming! Thanks again 👍👍
Thank you so much!!! I am trying my best to provide good videos for the channel… 🙂

Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
Thanks!
Thank you! for watching and supporting the channel!! 🔧👍
I have this same old ass faucet but in gold. Thanks!
Nice choice with the gold faucet! It might be old, but fixing it up can give it a new life. Thanks for checking out the video! 😊🚰🔧
Good video, helped me a lot. One thing you should mention, before you start, put In the drain plug , or rag at the bottom of the sink, so your screws don’t accidentally fall down the drain 😢
Oh that is such a great tip! You are right, we don’t want to have anything falling in there.
How you doing my friend nice to meet you i like your channel! I installed a brand new hot and cold cartridge today on the same style faucet shown in this video and after installation it's dripping slowly like one drip at a time and im getting frustrated.
Did you get the correct cartridge? Either that or unit itself is damaged and needs replaced.. good luck my friend! Thanks for watching!!!
Bro! you're the bomb!!! I have that model of faucet and just noticed I bought the wrong catridge! your a life saver!!! any sugestions as where to get those glacier bay catridges? online perhaps! Thanks!!
I’m glad the video helped you. Yes, I had a hard time finding the cartridge in-store. I ended up buying them online. I have a link in the video description… happy plumbing 🪠!!!
What was the cartridge size for this faucet?
I just added to the description. For the cold use 3S-11C and for the hot 3S-11H. You can find them in any of the big hardware stores.
👍
Are you calling the stem a cartridge? Because the word cartridge is not on the stem package I bought at store.
So no spring underneath like the other videos? Mine appears to have no spring.
What about the handle alignment with the top of the stem? It appears mine has to be set just right or it won’t turn effectively. There is no white connecting part on the top.
Thanks
The terms "stem" and "cartridge" are often used interchangeably. In reality, a stem is used when there are separate handles for hot and cold water, like in the video here. On the other hand, a cartridge is used when there's a single handle, as in your shower or kitchen faucet.
I'm not sure which model you have, but some of them don't have a spring and simply require a stem replacement. If the handle doesn't turn properly, you might have the wrong stem or may have mixed up the hot and cold sides. Each is designed to turn in a specific way. I hope this explanation helps, and good luck with your repair! 👍😊
@@DIYPlumbingGuy thank you very useful info. Yea mine do not come with springs. None in the faucet or with the stems. Thanks for clarification, you’d think the brand would have a video or instructions explaining this but no 😂👍🏻
👍🏽
Hey!! Thanks for watching and support the channel... 👍
glacier bays sucks ! 2 of my 3 glacier bay faucets are leaking bad enough i had to shut off the water ! now i find replacement cartridges cost almost as much as new faucets ! no more home depot faucets !
I have to agree... Sometimes replacing the faucet is the better alternative. Thank you so much for watching !!! 👍
Thanks for the video, what were the part numbers for the cartridges?
I just added to the description. For the cold use 3S-11C and for the hot 3S-11H. You can find them in any of the big hardware stores.
👍
The replacement costs for a new stem or cartridge was less than $8.00 at a plumbing store!
Recommending the use of PB Blaster inside the house should be punished with jail time.
Oh man!!! Is really that bad? I didnt know.
