Even if Rhaenyra killed Alicent the war would happen regardless because of Aegon and criston wanting blood. it's silly rhaenys thought Rhaenyra talking to Alicent would end the war when Alicent doesn't have any control over it starting.

I definitely think the ending scene could have been handled better, but I do understand what they were going for with it. Rhaenyra wants to end the war without bloodshed, and she heard that Alicent did so too, so she went there both in hopes of resolving things peacefully, and to get some closure by understanding Alicent's motivations. I do agree that it was kind of stupidly risky (maybe if the location had been more private, it would have worked better for me), but I don't agree that it made no sense.
Killing Alicent wouldn't change anything - She's completely lost control of Aegon and the council. Not to mention, there's still some lingering affection between her & Rhaenyra. I actually think it would have made far less sense for Rhaenyra to try to kill her.
As for the purpose of that scene - I think it was essentially to remove all doubts from Rhaenyra's mind. Now that she knows for a fact that Viserys had no change of heart, she can stop holding back, and go all out in pushing her claim.
So, yeah, I like what they were going for with that scene, I just think it could have been executed better.

I definitely can see what they’re trying to do… I think it would’ve helped if the death of Rhaenyra’s son didn’t just happen a few episodes ago lol

that Harrenhal stuff isn't a side plot. it's the start of one of the best plots from the book this is based on. the hallucinations are ripped straight from the books where characters get these weirwood dreams which foreshadow future events. I respect your opinion. The end of this episode was the only bad stuff in my opinion. Also, this battle in the episode wasn't important since none of our main characters were in it. they'll only show battles on screen when they're important enough from the book. So much more good stuff to come trust me.

    Q&A
Melissandra the is in the dance of the dragon's book. Do you think they will have her in the show If not, do you think it would be a missed opportunity for the series?

I agree. It was really weird how they were just talking like everything is good! I didn’t care for this episode. This show I watch it but it really doesn’t do anything for me. I loved Game of Thrones but I am just not connecting to this one.

As a book fan this scene sucked and does king's landing have no security at all?

The dialogue was noticeably lower in quality compared to the first two episodes. The episode was written by David Hancock and this is the only episode he wrote for season 2. Hoping they get back on track next week. By far my least favorite episode in the series and it’s not even close.
